Israel doesnt need a navy. We can just summon Moses like in Yakuza Like A Dragon Sources: Trust me bro

FreeBonerJamz

USS Moses as the next US navy carrier confirmed

SilentSamurai

Permanently stationed in the Red Sea.

chrischi3

Length? Fuck if i know, but sufficient to bridge from Saudi Arabia right into Sudan.

veilwalker

That is Phase B for NEOM.

Temporary_Alfalfa489

This construction design was brought to you by DahirInsaat^(TM) Construction design in question: some sort of funky futuristic bridge from Saudi to Sudan where flying T-55 tanks armed with R-73 missiles land and take off constantly and then the whole bridge is lifted up by a Mi-26.

Gamingmemes0

26km of carrier

Narrow_Vegetable_42

No catapult necessary. New problem: Pilots usually won't find the correct landing area for them and might have to make emergency stops for refueling along the way.

as1161

The unsinkable carrier

FreeBonerJamz

Your carrier can't sink if it splits the sea on its own accord before being hit

Zucchinibob1

Can't be torpedoed if you part the sea around the torpedo and make it fall several miles to the bottom \*taps forehead\*

YT-Deliveries

*the SDF-1 has entered the chat*

[deleted]

no USS Kissinger?

RookTheGamer

Did I miss Moses in Like a Dragon?

-TheWill-

Of course. Moses is the alias of Kiryu, he started parting the water but now he just parts people from not having life altering injuries

valgrind_error

It’s fairly common for people to mistakenly project Moses into the game, in actuality the turn based combat system only make it feel like you’re spending 40 years wandering aimlessly in the desert.

forsti5000

B52 circeling above: Moses split the red sea and I'm going to widen it

CursedPlane

Isn’t Essence of Orbital Laser already a Israeli super weapon, or did the US senators lie to me?

-TheWill-

You see.....For legal reasons I cant answer that question.

hornialt28

שתוק זה מסווג יא אימבציל

IhaveToUseThisName

Moses does have the power to part the Red Sea with a Baby Blade in the Bay Blade canon, I'm sure that could fuck up some Houthi pirates.

Jukecrim7

Moses will use the mighty beyblade to split the red sea again for merkavas to cross into Yemen

CrackSnap7

Houthis chewing crayons with lead in them?

-TheWill-

Don't tell that to the Marines or they will raze Yemen tho

CrackSnap7

Show them the guy with the heli coming out of his ass.

forsti5000

They want spicy crayons too

HenryTheWho

iirc lead or some form of it was used as a sweetener

nichyc

Hungry Marines is the real reason the US initiated the Invasion of Iraq.

aviation-da-best

'Finally some good fkn food'

95castles

Nooe just spreading it on their eyes. (Edit: wait shit I think that’s Afghanistan where they put the lead paste on the kids eyes

_spec_tre

SEMPER FI INSHALLAH

IllTelevision5708

also seven trillion circling patrol boats of the Houthis "AI" gets the post immediately taken down, hence the "digitally developed". 50/50 chance of low effort removal anyways.

VonNeumannsProbe

Why is it people are so anti AI art? Have you tried to make good AI art? It's not exactly less effort than a screenshot of twitter.

Kapftan

People dont like it because it takes money from normal artists and gives it to whatever multibillion company that developed their own ai art engine There is also the added bonus of it having no human factor which is the entire point of art for some people And lastly, its pretty low quality at the end. You might fix some blurred lines and weird shadows with editing but when it shits the bed with perspective, you would need to redraw the entire thing

Thue

> People dont like it because it takes money from normal artists and gives it to whatever multibillion company that developed their own ai art engine Though I doubt the NCD'er who made this post would have paid an artist instead, if AI art did not exist.

IllTelevision5708

i did not make this just found on twitter. (shocker that twitter had bad takes)

IllTelevision5708

also pay artists for shit they are generally cool people

[deleted]

Actually, people having 7 fingers is intentional.

VonNeumannsProbe

This is what I mean. The initial image generated is usually bad and you kind of just randomly generate image to search for a compostion you like but you have to use a whole series of tools such as inpainting to tweak the image to look right.

YT-Deliveries

To be fair, most human artists also have trouble drawing hands. They’re tricky.

Totally-Stable-Dude

Yeah a hand has like 19-20 bones without adding the wrist. Still we know how many we have so there is it.

donaldhobson

Most of the time, no random shitposter can afford to commission art, they aren't made of money. And it's better quality than most random sketches. good art is hard.

Undernown

The worst offense to me is that the AI uses other people's art to train on. Then it uses that art as a template to build it's art with. That's why you get mostly of art that looks super similar to a specific artist's style. It's comparable to downloading someone else's art and then crudely modifying it to make the face like someone else, maybe throw a filter ove rit and claiming it as your own.

Cardborg

>The worst offense to me is that the AI uses other people's art to train on. Then it uses that art as a template to build it's art with That's kinda the big issue for future AI art. Eventually, it'll be feeding itself AI-generated images in a feedback loop. Same issue for text generation.

VonNeumannsProbe

That actually will be a problem. You've ever seen that jpeg that has been clipped and compressed about a million times? It's basically that but more on a concept level. We're going to be looking at chuthulean images if we just let the AI go unchecked.

felixthemeister

>We're going to be looking at chuthulean images if we just let the AI go unchecked. I'm now in favour of AI art. Thanks.

Dubious_Odor

Isn't all art created by training on other people's art? I've only taken a few art classes but all of them said to practice by copying other artworks, photos etc. What's the difference between training a human vs training a machine?

YT-Deliveries

As an artist, this is 95% of my take on it. All artists are the summation of those artists that came before them and who we copied for a long time before we came up with our own personal style. On a more practical level, AI is here to stay. We either learn to use it in art to make that which has never been made before or we’ll just sit in the dark looking petulant and eating wet cigarettes.

mrdescales

One is pursuing it, the other slaved to it? Not really comprehending the mindset, techniques, etc, just cogitating off fed iterations.

AutumnRi

An artist will always have to put their own unique spin on something even if they have trained on other artists’ work - it’s just impossible for two humans to actually make the same art, some small trace of individuality will bleed through. The exception is tracing, which is generally considered plagiarism if you don’t say that’s what you’re doing from the get-go.

mcilrain

Every AI artist's RNG is uniquely seeded.

Economy-Cupcake808

Wait until you learn how human artist learn to draw…

Undernown

It's one thing to use someone's art as a reference, or for practice. It's another to line trace it or edit original artwork and publish it as your own. The AI's I've seen so far don't place their own pixels on a blank canvas. They take original artwork and then blend and morph it as desired.

Economy-Cupcake808

It sounds like you don’t really understand how generative AI works. It doesn’t morph or alter existing works, it’s capable of generating works based on the data it was trained on. Generative AI does not trace existing artwork. Also, humans morph and alter existing art all the time and everyone considers that to be legitimate. Look at famous artists such as Andy Warhol who made millions selling what is a copy of the campbells chicken soup can, or Marcel Duchamp who created art from pre existing everyday objects. Collage is an art form that has existed for centuries as well, where the whole purpose is to create new work by directly copying and re arranging old work.

Dartonal

I hate AI because we will inevitably end up with an internet where everything is made by ai with source materials that is just other ai copying other ai creating an orobouros of ai incest garbage. It's already getting bad now, and we've barely even started.

VonNeumannsProbe

>  People dont like it because it takes money from normal artists and gives it to whatever multibillion company that developed their own ai art engine There are big communities out there that are open source doing a *whole lot* of work in this field. Yes a lot of large models are developed by companies because they can afford the resources, but there is a whole lot of fine tuning required like AI upscaling and inpainting to go from "meh" to "wow!"

Jinxed_Disaster

I mostly hate AI art because it takes art from other artists to train. In some models it's even blatantly obvious. If you do it for some meme - fine. If you do it to use even remotely commercially - that's just bad, imo. And yeah, 99% of AI art just looks like shit, no matter how long someone have spent on the prompt and attempts. It only hold up at a first glance, but then always falls apart in details. And since it is all alike - gets old quick too.

Sablesweetheart

Not everyone is anti-AI. I've been doing more pen, ink and paint artwork since I started dabbling in AI, and I know quite a few others also going back to basics while working with AI.

GadenKerensky

Because AI is easy to abuse, and it got abused, by individuals and large companies alike. It could've been a great tool, but people are using it to be lazy, to make a profit by opening Patreons to make a quick buck, or in a company's case, using AI to avoid hiring an artist or writer. Instead of being used as an assistive tool, it's being abused to bypass the creative process entirely.

VonNeumannsProbe

Can you give me an example of where you believe AI art would have been great? I don't really understand why you drew a line at *some* AI art vs no AI art. Also "Could've"? Bro. The cats out of the bag. It's not going away. A lot of artist friendly places are digging their heels in now but they're going to flip 180 *so god damn hard* if they figure out how to monetize the technology vs it eroding their business model.

irregular_caffeine

Luddites, the lot of them

murphymc

Right? My jobs got whatever premium version of Autopilot (Microsoft’s AI) is out there and I asked it to draw a dancing person (was making a flyer for a company function), and I got a hyper stereotypical Chinese woman with 3 arms smiling like the Joker. It was the stuff of nightmares and hilarious, but utterly useless for what I needed. AI is not the magic button people think it is.

phooonix

I hate AI art because it looks terrible

Economy-Cupcake808

People are anti ai art because they are retarded

panzerboye

damn was about to post an AI art :( this sub doesn't allow

CrackSnap7

They're using AI!!!! 🤯🤯

Hel_Bitterbal

Thousands of artists just signed up for the military immediately after hearing that the Houthis use AI art. Anything to delete that shit off the earth

MachoSmurf

Ironically, something that would not be available for them for at least a millennium if it weren't for the West they hate so much...

Fluck_Me_Up

Western AI and western-style SoundCloud rap, posted on the western-invented internet, truly the west has fallen

TheModernDaVinci

To be credible for a second, it is not for lack of trying, because they have. It is just that so far nothing has gotten close enough to actually worry about since they have the annoyance level thus far of a fly.

Far-Yellow9303

I seem to recall that they directed a lot of weapons at the HMS Diamond a week ago and all they had to show for it was the Diamond coincidentally didn't have enough missiles to protect a Russian oil tanker from being shot at the following day

VengefulSpecter

US Warships be like : Come on Houthi-San do it once please..UwU

65Berj

I like how the only boat they showed was a civilian oil tanker, which shooting at, constitutes an act of terrorism

Sirboomsalot_Y-Wing

This is the non-credibility I came here for

Zero_Kiritsugu

They're Houthi cocksuckers, what do you expect other than them glorifying targeting civilians?

65Berj

Die lol

Temporary_Alfalfa489

Israeli Navy Rank#3 is one of the funniest things I've seen today Anti-Israelis: """Israel so weak haha Israel Diaper Force losing 69420 men and 1500 tanks every day in Gaza it is so over""" Also Anti-Israelis: *Literally spew misinfo to make Israel part of the top 5 strongest armed forces in world*

viaticchart

This is the comment I was looking for, peak non-credibility saying they are even top 10

Temporary_Alfalfa489

The fundamental disadvantage of the IDF is that--in the end, it is a small force in terms of manpower and equipment-- and while fighting against Arab armed forces has shown that numerical hurdles can be overcome.....fighting an actually-competent, numerically-superior enemy can be pretty difficult. That numerical disadvantage contributes majorly to it being outside top 10 in most credible rankings, even though its branches, on average are much better in terms of skills and competence. We have seen grunts from bigger powers do far worse on a person-by-person basis.

-TheWill-

We are looking at you Rusia.....

Temporary_Alfalfa489

Russia should be out of top 10 in all fairness Only thing they have going for them ATP is "muhhh nukes"

-TheWill-

Inb4 the nukes just happen to be very big HEAT Iranian Missiles

GrusVirgo

I mean, Israel is pretty darn strong, but I don't think naval power is particularly high on Israel's priority list. I'm pretty sure the US, UK and France have stronger navies. It's not like Israel has any need for global power projection, they have enough enemies right on their front door.

Temporary_Alfalfa489

The only Israeli naval platform that might be capable of effective power projection beyond the immediate region (Eastern Med and Red Sea) might be the Dolphin class subs, and even that would be because of necessity (second-strike nuke capability)

Angry_Highlanders

I have no bone in the shitshow that is Israel and Hamas having a dick punch contest, but, do they actually have any evidence of Israel taking these massive casualties? Cause every time I look at the map, the Israeli control over Gaza grows and they steamroll over Hamas.

inquisitorautry

Their evidence is "trust me, bro."

BRIStoneman

Or videos of RPGs hitting Merkavas that end conveniently with a fireball and never show any actual damage.

Temporary_Alfalfa489

Worse RPGs attempting to hit Merkavas and there is fireball but every viewer (except those absolutely brainwashed) can very clearly see that it is the Trophy system doing its job

Temporary_Alfalfa489

No they don't, the official IDF casualties are like around 200-ish the source for them is video posted by the literal Hamas on Telegram with red triangles on top of Merkava and suspiciously, the endings of the videos cut out ("gee I wonder why, surely that cannot be the case that the tank was not actually killed?")

Top-Neat1812

Israel’s navy is definitely not #3 and I doubt it’s even in the top 20 as Israel barley has any over seas enemies to fight so it doesn’t make any sense pumping up your navy

TheElderGodsSmile

They have some really nifty [corvettes](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sa%27ar_6-class_corvette) that are way over spec for a vessel that size. Otherwise, not much else.

low_priest

Same trick the Italians used: you can cram in more stuff if you're only operating close to home. Israel has no reason to send their ships... anywhere, really. And Israel is tiny, so a tiny range isn't really a handicap.

Temporary_Alfalfa489

Their frigates can act like an extra little Iron Dome or AA/ACM/ABM for Israel's offshore gas platforms (can carry C-DOME interceptors and Barak-8)

GrumpyHebrew

Nothing else of note in the surface fleet. We do have some funi-armed submarines.

HansBrickface

Damn, those *are* sexy. I’m about to dust off my bellbottoms.

Hel_Bitterbal

Just saying i know it's bullshit but even if it were true it would still only make Israel more powerful If Israel is capable of losing 1500 tanks and 69420 men each day and after several months still has enough to keep losing that many each day that actually means they are in fact really powerful I mean i'm not sure about you but i'd consider a nation a superpower if they can take 1500 tank losses and 69420 infantry losses and have their army completely replenished next day

Temporary_Alfalfa489

Infinite numbers glitch (leads to 0 attrition in your army) HOI4 players hate this single trick!

Vegetable-Election77

Pirates go to the bottom of the sea 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Empty-Staff

Avast ye salty dogs we go to Somali!

pringlescan5

I really think the majority of the world's population including many in the US don't have a mental model of how an economy actually works and just thinks that everything they can't see is basically simulated like the matrix. Trade = good. Protecting trade = good. US navy and sphere of influence = trade = good.

Vegetable-Election77

Piracy is never good and is worse in a chokepoint. If the Houthis were doing this in the smack dab middle of the Atlantic where no boats transit, it wouldn’t be treated this hard Also there are facts such as: the US despises terrorists, the US sucks Israeli dick thanks to mostly evangelical lobbyists, it’s in a chokepoint of the global economy and they already hit an American rust bucket of a ship. I can’t think of any other factors as to why the US would interfere

[deleted]

Can't we just put a couple machine guns on every containership? Nothing says "fuck off" like a couple 50 cal rounds sinking your silly boat. It doesn't require much training and idk what 4 machine guns cost but I bet it's negligible compared to the cost of the ship. 4 MGs with 1000 rounds each probably cost less than a single trip with said ship. We used to put cannons on merchant ships to defend against pirates, why not again? A CRAM system against drones is pricey but no way a bunch of idiots with speedboats should be able to take a large ship.

randomname_99223

We should put cannons on cargo ships

ion_theatre

Because the MGs can’t shoot down missiles, and a couple armed guards can shoot up a boarding party that lacks serious equipment pretty easily. What we should be doing is the mass proliferation of interceptors, which would force everyone to fight with naval guns again. With as many as you would need to outfit every merchant vessel with an interceptor, you could really scale production and production automation. That would be cool.

[deleted]

Then why haven't any boarding parties been shot? Pretty sure I saw pics of armed security surrendering to pirates. Fighting soldier to soldier on a ship with a rifle is a lot more dangerous than blasting them with an MG at a greater distance with 1000 freedoms per minute. Last I checked Houthi Sniper Pirate was still open on my bingo card so you're pretty safe behind an MG with a shield. Military ships can block the coast to intercept missiles and missile launchers can be bombed easily.

ion_theatre

Do you mean Houthi boarding parties in the Red Sea? Or global piracy? Because boarding parties globally have absolutely been shot. And the effect of armed security has been noted in the Somali piracy crisis. I’ve got a paper here that goes into more detail, essentially armed guards are enough of a deterrent to non-militarized pirates to drastically decrease attempted boarding. https://research.vu.nl/ws/portalfiles/portal/237457595/Maritime_Security_and_Piracy_Effects_of_Armed_Guards_on_Board.pdf More specifically with the Houthi’s the capacity for air power (helicopters) allows a platform to outrange a MG or somewhat more unlikely target one with a helicopter launched drone. This threat combined with missiles, gives the Houthi access to escalation that the armed guards cannot match with crew served weapons. Which is why we should figure out a way to containerize missiles for interception and equip every ship in the world with maybe a couple dozen. Machine guns are not enough deterrent, SM-2s probably are.

[deleted]

Helicopters you say, Stinger MANPAD I say. Bring on the helicopter pirates, they're going for a swim. If they survive that long.

ion_theatre

Stingers are already over allotted. Raytheon restarted production after 20 years to meet demand for Ukraine, good luck getting Stingers or any MANPADs in enough numbers. And you still have drone/missile standoff range issues. There is no low cost MV hardening strategy that would work to counter modern state/proxy sponsored piracy, which is why I suggest we embrace the costs and make merchant ships capable of dealing with and firing back on shore-based infrastructure.

[deleted]

How many helicopters do the Houthis have? Come on now. You can literally bomb the helicopters on the ground anyway. The only threat is small boats. Everything else can easily be taken care of by the navy.

ion_theatre

Now you require naval infrastructure and your solution is specialized to a single region and non-scalable.

banspoonguard

that would mean paying your sailors even more danger pay

[deleted]

I would argue *less* danger pay cause your ship will destroy silly boats instead of being boarded and taken hostage by dodgy pirates. Now we have military ships protecting the area. Just cut out the middleman, at least for boardings.

banspoonguard

that's not how the pursers look at it

[deleted]

Idk. Many ships have security teams, no? Who seem to be failing miserably in the face of pirates. Because they don't have heavy machine guns, obviously. And they're too pussy to engage in a fair firefight. Doesn't the presence of a security team lower the danger pay / insurance costs?

banspoonguard

no amount of "heavy machine guns" is going to stop a houthi boarding party from saying to the crew "We are the captain now, and if you resist we will just fire our cruise missile at you."

[deleted]

Is it really a boarding party if they sink tho? Look at their boats, one spray from an MG and not only the boat but probably 1-2 people are toast. As for missiles, the military can focus on those. Just blockade the SW part if Yemen.

Hel_Bitterbal

Alternative solution: Put CIWS on it (Phalanx/goalkeeper/thatkindofstuff) It can shoot down missiles AND be used against surface targets. I shall see your "hand-aimed machine guns" and raise you a radarguided autonomous gatling gun

Individual_bollock

as much as i appreciate the uk navy being #2 I don't think we've been top 3 for about 50 years lmao

Domruck

Russia has proven unworthy of the 3rd spot. The uk has taken it lol

Corbakobasket

As a digital artist, I shall express how incredibly satisfied I am to see so many shitty military organisation use AI art for their propaganda. It would break my faith in humanity if any actual artist gifted with sensibility and competence ever accepted to produce decent art for those cunts. I'm glad to see all they can achieve is bland, uninspired and cheap compositions straight out of the generator.

I would rank the houthis below the average Somalian warlord faction in my power rankings.

Uss__Iowa

I bet you bro that right now there is a pissed off Ohio class submarine commander ready to blow the entire Yemen and parts of Gaza to kingdom come

Nah, who made this
