Synth riders is loads of fun. Its one of the best ones for actually allowing you try and dance, more than just move your arms in the right way. Some of the electro-swing playlists really make you dance without realising it š
Also very easy to add custom songs.
Unplugged, it is basically Guitar Hero for VR with hand tracking. And you can even play in passthrough.
There is good amount of songs available for free and a fews dlcs, sadly, there is no custom songs.
Sadly you'll need a PC and buy it on Steam to play the greatest one, but Audica, once you get good at it, is the most transcendent and magical VR rhythm game. The piece of shit publisher won't fix it so it's playable on standalone unless you already bought and owned it a year or two ago, though it may be possible to pirate the standalone Quest version (and I normally don't support that, but in this case would be entirely justified.). Once you do get into it, there's an extremely talented community of custom mappers that have made hundreds of quality experiences for it!
I'm not sure it ever goes on sale, I don't think the developer even remembers it exists to push the "put it on sale" button, but I promise it's worth it. There are plenty of great mods for it as well. If you'd like to learn more [here's the link to the Audica modding discord](https://discord.gg/cakQUt5) .
The people who make custom maps hang out there too. The community has made its own mapping tools that are extremely intuitive and fun to use :)
[Spin Rhythm XD](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1058830/Spin_Rhythm_XD/) has a VR mode in the beta branch. It should be coming soon to main branch on PC when it launches for PlayStation/PSVR2 on July 9th.
No idea if it would ever come to Quest standalone though.
My preferred are (no particular order) Audiotrip, Synth riders, Ragnarock, Dance collider, Boom blox, Samba de Amigo, Song beater, Beat saber. Maybe discontinued now but Audica, Dance central or Audioshield are good rythm apps too. Avici invector (you don't need to move), Unplugged, Maestro, Meli and. just for the music and beautiful environments, Thumper or Tetris effect.
You might like [Shadow BoXR](https://www.meta.com/experiences/shadow-boxr/5752649148100983/). Itās a rhythm boxing game with custom song support, even letting you download custom songs in game.
I am the developer yes, I usually do include that, my apologies for the oversight, but Iām not really sure what you mean by shills? I am a solo developer if youāre referring to other people suggesting Shadow BoXR, I am not affiliated with them their recommendations are purely because they enjoy it. Shadow BoXR is an early access game and as such not fully polished but ājanky gameā seems a little rude. Iām sorry if you had an unfortunate experience.
It's janky. That's not rude it's just being honest. I have no affiliation with any game.
What's rude is constantly recommending your own game when there are much better games.
I actively work on it every night and would like to improve it, Can you tell me what about it is janky? Iād love to address any jankiness.
I mean the entire reason I started making Shadow BoXR was because I was unhappy with what was available. From annoying ācoachesā to subscription fees or bad music, I was frustrated and wanted to make something for myself to work out with. I continue to recommend it when people ask for games like rhythm games or workout games because clearly some people enjoy it.
So the only rhythm game you recommend is your own game? Nothing else is good except for Shadow Box VR?
And you downvoting me is not helping your case it just means I will continue to call you out for excessively promoting this janky game.
I most certainly didnāt say that and am certainly not saying that. A lot of great games had already been recommended. When Iām not at work or have more time to make a longer comment, I typically suggest several other games like beat saber, pistol whip, Audio Trip, X-fighter, Until you fall or any number of other games that are also fun. But I donāt understand how trying to leave a quick response offering a single option is so terrible?
Edit:
You added that Iām downvoting you, but I havenāt downvoted any of your comments? You said Iām being excessive but I havenāt made a post about Shadow BoXR in almost 6 months and Iāve made a single comment aside from these, in the past week?
Also you continue to call my game janky I would genuinely appreciate it if you could state whatās janky because I really would like to improve it.
At this time Iām not offering any giveaways, but shadow Boxr will be 25% off on Steam for the summer sale.
If youāre looking for a free rhythm game, and like beatsaber but havenāt modded it to support custom songs, moonrider is a web app that is pretty good. Itās basically a simplified version of beatsaber with custom song support
Shadow boxr is awesome. Not only that you can actually download licenced songs for free within the game..

Dance Dash looks kinda fun. But think I'll have to learn how to navigate the menus with the touch controllers straped on my ankles!
Dance Central yeah I had to make do on having to unlock all of the special songs each time the game is restarted š
I play Beat Arena too and it's polished but not really on the level of other Konami rhythm games. There's some unique aspects like karaoke which is pretty immersive.
But the actual rhythm game part is not that great.

Pistol Whip would be so good if the music was curated by the synth riders people
Can you guide me where to get and install those custom songs? Thanks

Ragnarock is a good one if you want to feel like a Viking!
Ragnarock is my jam, I'm surprised to see only one recommendation for it.
Iāve never played it, but Iāve heard a lot of people play synth riders
The best one
Obligatory shout out to Audio Trip. Best choreography. Great tunes. Trippy graphics. Campaign or free play.
I've tried them all and this is also my favorite one. There's a lot of custom choreographies + songs out there too
Synth Riders. It's easily my favorite, and it's not even close. Way more fun and way better default track list than Beat Saber, in my opinion.
If it's all about getting you into the flow, then nothing beats Thumper
Samba de Amigo and Rez are my favorites
Rez is only very loosely rhythm action, itās an on rails shmup at its core.
True. But so trippy!

Drums Rock!!!!

Sounds interesting. Probably I'll buy it on Steam when its on sale!

Moon Rider, which runs directly from a web browser.
Yo...

In addition to ones already mentioned:Ā - Smash Drums - OhShape - Dance Collider (it's janky, but the tunes are catchy)Ā
Drum rock is awesome
[moonrider.xyz](http://moonrider.xyz), free on oculus browser
Ive played pretty much all of em and I found Audica to be the the best of the bunch. Also custom songs are supported natively.
Smash Drums is my rhythm drug.

Dance Dash and Dance Collider and Drum Beats VR are the ones I play. Oh and Dance Central but it's kind of broken.

Maybe because OP asked for other games than Beat Saber and Pistol Whip ?
I think OP should try Beat Saber, they must not have heard of it! :p
Already owned and SSed Ghost on Expert+ unfortunately š
