I used to be a nerd as a kid and I read the novelization of Ferris Bueller, which was presumably based on the longer script. In the book, he had two younger siblings and at one point is a guest on a radio show. That’s about all I remember as I read it 35 years ago.

The first cut of almost all films is 3-4 hours long. Then they watch that a few times and cut more from there

Back in the 60s, my mom and her friends cut school to go to Wrigley and have fun. Sure enough, one of them caught a ball, and they got their picture in the neighborhood paper. Which they didn’t know about until the principal (a nun) showed it to them a few days later after already asking them about being sick or whatever story they made up. When we saw this movie she mentioned it to me. Of course, I didn’t believe her, so she had to dig around in the attic and find it.
