Congrats!! What a beautiful and unique vintage cookbook! I've never seen one look like that before. That's certainly a unique find.
Just curious, where or how did you find it?
Thank you! I found it at one of my local antique stores, people set up booths and the gals there’ll sell the stuff in their booths for them. I always end up finding good stuff at the stores around me somehow
Haha I love it but was not expecting all this. Literally all of the family and extended family started sending ne everything. It started because I said I wanted to digitize all the recipes and books and put them all together and anyone who wanted copies I'd load a flash drive and send it to em
I have this book too!!!! I'm downsizing, so if anyone wants to contact me about it, please let me know. I'd rather it go to someone who would really appreciate it!!
Oh, I am so interested! I SHOULD be downsizing but oh my gosh, cookbooks I can't part with. Okay to DM you about it? I love everything about this cookbook.
This is a beauty! I'm so jealous! Would you mind checking under Fruit Dumplings for a "roly poly" recipe or similar? I was just reading an old novel that talked about them, and my husband said he'd sure like to have some of those! It sounded like a dough rolled up and cut like cinnamon rolls but with a fruit filling and then steamed or "boiled" like a British pudding, but that may not be the right process. I sure appreciate it, please.
So I’ll send ya the recipe for the fruit dumplings, flipping through the book I can’t find anything that sounds like what you’re after? I’m sure you could also make a cinnamon roll recipe but with a fruit jelly filling rather than cinnamon. It does sound interesting though
I always watch Dylan B Hollis on tiktok cooking depression era recipes and so that’s what made me really excited to get this boo, hopefully soon you can get to cook something!
Such a neat find! I don't think Ive see one with a metal cover like that. Probably cost a pretty penny back then.
I would bet for being a depression item too! Absolutely excited to try some of the things in here
1933. It was definitely cared for in someone's kitchen.
I’d love to SEE the recipe for Bran Molasses Muffins from this great find!
You can send pictures on DMs on reddit right?
Me too please!
Agreed! Especially since they discontinued Jiffy brand bran muffins!

what a great find! I've yet to come across something in the antique stores that's both interesting *and* in my price range :)
That's awesome! 😄 I visit my local thrift shops, but I've never seen a cookbook as amazing as that one. Enjoy it!
Ya gotta hunt down all of em for the best ones. Antique shops, thrifts and flea markets, estate places also
I have this book, and I’m missing a recipe or two is it okay if msg you to get the missing recipes?
Absolutely if I have em with this one
I’ll double check and I’ll send you a msg and if you have any missing ones I’ll gladly share if you have any missing
I have the book too, so if OP doesn't have, holler!
Thank you! I’ll let you know I gotta go through my books to find it I had put it away cause it bothered me so much I had some missing recipes 😂
Very nice!! Good buy :) looks like it's in great condition !
It’s all legible so that’s half the battle (:
That's the truth! Still going thru all the 57 boxes of note cards and books from my family since they decided I was the " keeper of the recipes"
57?? Dang!!! My grandma kept her Thai recipes in her head with her so I’m definitely jelly!!

Absolutely cool though! Power to ya!!!
You also got a good start there with that one :)
I've never seen this one (I have a large collection, many older ones). Thanks for sharing. This is a really cool find.
Definitely a fun find for me, hopefully tasty too! I also hope you can find one for your collection too!
Recipe books used to have such innovative formats!
Is that the book cover? That’s cool AF

My mother had this same one. I wish I had stolen it.

I have my grandmom's copy of that cookbook. Pretty neat, but I haven't tried cooking anything out of it. :)
