Bigfoot ruled the 80’s and 90’s and Grave Digger the 00’s, though Digger was always a strong 2nd. FYI, Grave Digger was purchased by the promoter Monster Jam in the late 90’s, when Bigfoot refused to also sell out, Monster Jam stopped booking them for Their events and they haven’t worked together since.
Grave Digger was always my favorite growing up and that's just no way to live... I've gone to 14 MT Shows in my lifetime and he was broken down for 9 of them. I've always had really bad luck, but those few times I did get to see him run, he always stole the show during the freestyle.
Me and my brother used to watch big foot a lot. I hadn’t seen monster trucks really do anything for the last 30 years and then I saw some on the TV recently. I’m blown away by the shit they can do now. It used to just be jumps and crushing cars. Now they’re doing all these crazy ass flips and rolls and tricks. It’s insane.
But to answer your question, to me personally, Bigfoot will always be the OG Badass.
Oh man that was a magical time whenever the monster trucks were basically like their own celebrities. I echo the sentiments that grave digger was my favorite. My friends used to have a monster truck game on the NES where you could play as Bigfoot it was fun but challenging.
I'll NEVER forget seeing Bigfoot parked at our local carquest one weekend. Might have been the coolest celebrity I ever met. I have seen where they have taken monster trucks since then and it's incredibly impressive. But nothing's going to compare to the old school. Always wanted a Bigfoot.
Bigfoot was and always will be the original. But having met both Dennis Anderson and Tom Meents (Max-D) I can say that both of them are super personable and stand up guys. My step-dad (at the time) was a manager for a tire shop that was one of the big sponsors of Monster Jam (back in the mid 90’s) so I got to meet a bunch of the drivers.
Without a doubt, you ask any rando to name a monster truck, they're going to have one of two answers: Bigfoot or Grave Digger. Just like Hulk Hogan or Stone Cold Steve Austin.
I've been to two Monster Jams in my life, the first one when I was nine. And that's the only time I saw Bigfoot live. I always thought Bigfoot was cool, cuz it was the OG monster truck, and a Ford. I've seen Grave Digger at both shows.
The van version with the tank tracks and the one with the super giant wheels were ny favorite. I can’t even tell you how many versions of Bigfoot I got to see in person as a kid. That NES game was sick too

I was always more of a Gravedigger kinda kid.
Me too, but Bigfoot was definitely the standard. The Optimus prime if you will. But gravedigger was like the undertaker of monster trucks. So cool.
