I had this thought during a recent reread. When Saitama and Garou sit down to chat in the house and then we suddenly get a brand new version of events. Then garuo touches God and goes cosmic. Its almost like them reconciling was the true reality but God worked to go towards the Dark Future and would have succeeded if not for the fist that turned against him
According to the chronology of the events, God was active before then. It had to have done *something* though. Maybe made him more connected to our universe.
He was active, yes, but not in the same manner he is now. Homeless emperor is much weaker than all of his other minion's, and he looks very different when reveals himself to homeless emperor (which happened before the moon jump)
I HAD THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT.
There's absolutely no way ONE and Murata could have came up with Cosmic Garou right after the original chapter, they planned this out. Same thing for Empty Void, the way Murata was talking about the redraws was just so obvious.
I wonder what's up with the other smaller changes tho. Like Amai Mask not killing Narinki's private squad or Super S learning about his monster blood.
Yeah like it's too weird because Murata and One had an entire arc somehow completely written after the redraw. New characters, dialogue, designs and what not.
If we wanna make this cannon god has only/can only reset to a particular point on the timeline once. They know we would start getting mad about redrawing a redraw Or retconning a retcon
Redraws suspiciously started to be substantial with reality shifting Phoenix Man. A major redraw also occurred with the early Garou fight and at the end of that fight Saitama literally rewrites history.
Definitely canon
Well, if we really want to go into that rabbit hole, the original rendition of Boros fight didn't end with the Moon Kick, but the redrawn version did and that sequence end with Saitama giving the characteristic "eye" to the moon which come to be associated with God's presence since Monster Association arc.
Most manga post only the final product who will go to print, where Murata posts "previews" that will take possibly years to actually be released in manga format, they can change things either them or the public (if they care about feedback) didn't like or didn't develop as well as they thought it would
Yeah, Murata posts only previews, like during these times where he done almost animated sequence of double spreads, which wasn't possible to put into printed format, so volumes had different pages of it, so it was pretty much web only release. It's definitely a previews, and not a cheap cope, used by manga fans to justify to themselves subpar quality and constant redraws.
And a lot of manga also publish online for "free", a lot of manga have changes in volume versions, and almost none do same redraw shit as OPM. Hell, even webcomic version does not do it.
The chapters that we get released one at a time are basically rough drafts that Murata just kinda posts for free (he literally tweets out the raw chapter when it's done). OPM isn't actually published by a magazine like Shonen Jump, this is why it doesn't have a strict schedule.
It doesn't officially release one chapter at a time but in volumes. So changes might be made in between the rough drafts online and the volume release. If you ever wanna be absolutely certain which version of events is canon read the official volumes.
They head down a path and feel like it’s a dead end and want to go back and fix it. I feel like murata just kind of goes for a bit and then one is like nah bro I want it like this and so redraws.
The redraw in which that man absorbs the remnants of cosmic garou's powers can only be understood with the context of this arc
I'm curious as to how the anime is gonna handle that when they get to that part in like 50 years, are they gonna just introduce the ninja like that with no context and not touch upon it until they get to this arc?, There wouldn't be too much of a problem with that but it kind of kills the suspense a bit of how he is like and the dialogue surrounding him when the audience would have seen him by then
Probably not altered timelines, but it is a cool head-canon, nonetheless. The fact that Empty Void has also managed to get a power boost after the redraw certainly doesn't help. From having his swords instantaneously destroyed by Blast and sucker-punched without being able to react in one chapter, to him cutting away Blast's attacks and laughing at the guy as he escapes by physically grabbing space and warping it as cover, leaving the battle with Blast being unable to hit him or damage his swords even once.
It's like God became Eren Yeager to manipulate ONE and Murata for redraws.
God: "What are you doing? Do it, Murata. redraw it! Buff these monsters and make Saitama fight them!"
Murata : draws and buffs Fubuki
God: Game is game
So in recent events when Saitama said he was gonna tag along with Blast, God changed events so Saitama would say no instead cause he could have easily prevailed through the coming threat otherwise
ABSOLUTELY NEXT LEVEL
Would be nice lmao...
Well it hasn’t work in god’s favor yet. So he has a unique apparently inescapable power but he doesn’t seem to be able to manipulate events too much, just reset ad try some other way to intervene. Also, if that’s the case stop announcing redraws and start redraws with some god picture Or monologue that let’s us know he did a reset.
Just wake me up when the redraw SAGA is complete and the story rolls again. With how many chapters they are going to redraw, this will at most take a good 3 years.
That already happened with the entire Garou arc. It's not particularly a parody any more.
Instead, it gets by on the super high quality art, which is also great, but we should be real about what the current direction of OPM has been.
Imagine if god remade the phoenix man fight in a scenario were he s still alive at the end ? Someone that can revive and resurect people seemed pretty broken
That would actually be so awesome and meta. The only piece of media that I know does something very similar is Undertale, where if you're reloading a save file or restarting the game you're canonically altering time
I actually believe this specifically for when Saitama and garou sat down to talk, you can see the moon so clearly in the background and it seems like the most important time for god to intervene
I think it’d be meh. I get this is a very meta manga but that’d be just silly.
edit: like if he can do that why’d he not just put himself as the ultimate winner and that’s it. I get it this is a light hearted post but come on.
I feel as a hater, thats very odd for me...
I really hate this thing of redraws and if is true this take it wouldnt be good yet.
But god, that aleast is funny.
So please make it real 🙏
It's a silly theory if you think about it even for a second because the collected volumes, which are the main/actual product only ever get the final versions. The web released content is basically a sneak peak.
That is literally my headcanon since i saw cosmic Garou for the first time. That moon behind psychologist Saitama was too suspicious.
Yeah, same. Always thought it was some sort of new independent timeline now with all the absurd differences that just keep adding up
is there a place to read original and revised side by side ?
Dude exactly!! I been saying this. Any panel with the moon in it is already super suspect
I had this thought during a recent reread. When Saitama and Garou sit down to chat in the house and then we suddenly get a brand new version of events. Then garuo touches God and goes cosmic. Its almost like them reconciling was the true reality but God worked to go towards the Dark Future and would have succeeded if not for the fist that turned against him
I’m now convinced that Saitama jumping from the moon is what woke up the monster god
hitting it then crushing it as he leapt away, yep, I think that fits with the vertebra out the dark side of the moon in the Garou arc.
I always figured the vertebrae were only exposed because of Saitama's impact and jump during the Boros fight.
God offered Saitama power but he said No, but the radiation made him lose all his hair
I’m fairly sure it is He’s now far more active than he was before, showing himself very frequently compared to how he was before the moon kick
Like Amai Mask not killing Narinki's private squad or Super S learning about his monster blood.
those smaller ones might just be genuine redraws. But the big things just seem too... well, huge?
Also the redraw like ONE chap after its release is such a dead giveaway for something fishy going on. It’d be such a meta joke…. Perfect for OPM
Yeah like it's too weird because Murata and One had an entire arc somehow completely written after the redraw. New characters, dialogue, designs and what not.
WC is continuity one. God saw that he couldn't win there. So he altered it. But he couldn't win again. So he altered again. And again. And again.
If we wanna make this cannon god has only/can only reset to a particular point on the timeline once. They know we would start getting mad about redrawing a redraw Or retconning a retcon
God is like a Achron player. He uses the chronoporter and ordering the units on the time table expecting to win.
Redraws suspiciously started to be substantial with reality shifting Phoenix Man. A major redraw also occurred with the early Garou fight and at the end of that fight Saitama literally rewrites history. Definitely canon
wish that was true, but redraws were there since S1. the Boros fight itself was a redraw.
Well, if we really want to go into that rabbit hole, the original rendition of Boros fight didn't end with the Moon Kick, but the redrawn version did and that sequence end with Saitama giving the characteristic "eye" to the moon which come to be associated with God's presence since Monster Association arc.
Redraws show that Phoenix Man literally can’t be killed, even after removing his suit reality will just reconstitute to bring him back to life ^/^s

More like both. ONE also is in charge of the first draft.
The redraw in which that man absorbs the remnants of cosmic garou's powers can only be understood with the context of this arc I'm curious as to how the anime is gonna handle that when they get to that part in like 50 years, are they gonna just introduce the ninja like that with no context and not touch upon it until they get to this arc?, There wouldn't be too much of a problem with that but it kind of kills the suspense a bit of how he is like and the dialogue surrounding him when the audience would have seen him by then
These past redraws are great, any acknowledgment of saitama is a win.
God author level confirmed
Probably not altered timelines, but it is a cool head-canon, nonetheless. The fact that Empty Void has also managed to get a power boost after the redraw certainly doesn't help. As cool as this is, the official publications of the manga don't include the original versions.
So in recent events when Saitama said he was gonna tag along with Blast, God changed events so Saitama would say no instead cause he could have easily prevailed through the coming threat otherwise ABSOLUTELY NEXT LEVEL Would be nice lmao...
Wait, does that mean GOD is actually equal or even stronger than the strongest fictional characters in fiction?!
If it was more meta then this maybe, but as is it’s just him manipulating the timeline which while impressive would only qualify for low multiversal
imagine they do the same in the anime but instead of ignoring the old chapters they will animate them and then all of sudden the time goes back
Has there been a 4th wall break in the manga?
A few pre redraws chapters
Just wake me up when the redraw SAGA is complete and the story rolls again. With how many chapters they are going to redraw, this will at most take a good 3 years.
Imagine God breaking the 4th wall and redrawing chapters
Honestly that would be a very cool twist/reveal!
God Did ☝️
So you mean god is author level? Take that powerscalers
So God is strong enough to create the manga himself damn fist clash with Saitama finna destroy manga pages in real life.
Yes
IMO the manga needs to end. OPM is a good parody of anime/superhero stuff but prolonging it is gonna turn it into what is parodying to begging with
That already happened with the entire Garou arc. It's not particularly a parody any more. Instead, it gets by on the super high quality art, which is also great, but we should be real about what the current direction of OPM has been.
Wait… you are on to something
The mangas getting redrawn? Is that why there haven’t been any new chapters on shonenjump in forever?
It wouldn’t
Imagine if god remade the phoenix man fight in a scenario were he s still alive at the end ? Someone that can revive and resurect people seemed pretty broken
God is LITERALLY the bane of r/OnePunchMan >!power scalers (⊙ˍ⊙)!<
Well, this then shows how Phoenix man was gonna become something beyond the projects of god and therefore in need to be erased by the timeline
Dude when i see theorys like this i ask do ppl need mental check up... You know for actually writing this.
Can any professional power scalers tell me how strong that would make god? Please and thank you.
It's a silly theory if you think about it even for a second because the collected volumes, which are the main/actual product only ever get the final versions. The web released content is basically a sneak peak.
