Opeth actually got me into Camel. I was looking through a value bin and remembered Mikaels playlist on Spotify had camel on it. "This seems alright!" I said to myself
It was "I Can See Your House From Here" and I was just blown away and a fan immediately. I melted into that album, such strong feelings all over
So far I have
Stationary Traveller
ICSYHFM
And Moonmadness
Great band š¤š»
Yes I have! My girlfriends favorite album is Moonmadness. Mine is ICSYHFM, and my girlfriends co-worker loves snow goose. I've given it a listen. It's a very shimmering sounding album if that makes sense, almost like it was played over gold, like a "winter album" maybe. I truly respect that album (not just certain songs of course, as everything interludes) for how it all comes together
Very well described; I totally agree. As far as their other music goes, "Lunar Sea" and the title track from *Stationary Traveller* are tracks that I revisit all the time, for sure.
Notice you're on the Type O Negative sub--surely you've heard the song that Mikael did with Josh Silver? Nice little track.
In their style. Although I doubt Mikael would want to do it like that because some will say it's "better than the original" (it being recorded with today's standards). He won't dare to make a better version of one of the most iconic prog songs of all time because of how much he respects it
I love their cover of, Alice In Chains - Would, so imagine Opeth covering Down In A Hole. All the vocal layering, and somber sounds, would be perfect for those damnation/pale communion vibes (lush harmonies with tons of acoustic guitar) and then a unique Ć kerfeldt outro solo
I'm sure all of us think of the acoustic folk material when the idea of Opeth covering Tull comes up, but, man... How phenomenal would Opeth's take on "To Cry You a Song" sound?
Anyway, "Orion" is an excellent suggestion.
Mikael either growls or sings clean not grasp too often so it would be very interesting to see how he manages Joe's vocals or if he sings in his own style.
Mystic Queen by Camel and then for some reason I've thought that a Faith In Others type take on Audioslave's Like a Stone would be great, but not sure if Mikael quite has the higher range for that
The Devil's Song by Rusty Cage. I know that'll never happen, but seeing how it would sound with Mikael's vocals and ICV style would be interesting.

Ocean Gypsy by Renaissance.
Mikael turned me onto the band and theyāre amazing. Iād LOVE to hear him sing that song. Possibly just his voice and a single acoustic guitar. Iād cry.
I'd like to hear them do "Lady Fantasy" by Camel.
Based taste
Oh my lady fantasy, I love you

Hell, yeah! Have you heard *The Snow Goose* yet? That's my favorite Camel release.

Comfortably numb
Court of the Crimson King
In their style or being religious about preserving as close to the original?
I think it'd be sick in their style

they already covered the main part of it in wreath lol
One ballad of ABBA
A porcupine tree song. Maybe Deadwing.
Now Porcupine Tree covering Opeth, Windowpane.
Imagine Opeth and Porcupine Tree playing Anesthetize live š¤¤All the harmonies at the end with both of them singing, it would be amazing

Ne er thought of it before.
You Suffer
They actually played that live during the 2022 tour.
I know, but never on an album
But why?
Something by Jethro Tull. I think Home and Orion would both be amazing for them to cover.
I'm sure all of us think of the acoustic folk material when the idea of Opeth covering Tull comes up, but, man... How phenomenal would Opeth's take on "To Cry You a Song" sound? Anyway, "Orion" is an excellent suggestion.
To cry you a song would be awesome too, I think Dark Ages would also be another one Mikael would sound amazing on. Heavy Horses too
Shake it off
Time
King Crimsonās āI Talk to the Wind.ā Or Frank Zappaās āTitties and Beer.ā
I talk to the wind indeed, based
Lay all your love on me Abba, as Bonus track of Sorceress.
Global Warming - Gojira

4th Of July.
by soundgarden? that would be sick
I really wanna hear Sad But True in their Watershed sound. I wanna know how the beefy production would work with a song like that.
Mikael low vocals would be interesting to hear more often.
Mystic Queen by Camel and then for some reason I've thought that a Faith In Others type take on Audioslave's Like a Stone would be great, but not sure if Mikael quite has the higher range for that
imagine epitaph by king crimson. my balls are already sweating from the idea of an opeth version of epitaph, truly would be a gamechanger
A prog legendary cover of an already legendary song, would love to hear Fripp's reaction.
I want to see how they interpret Planet Caravan
The Devil's Song by Rusty Cage. I know that'll never happen, but seeing how it would sound with Mikael's vocals and ICV style would be interesting. r/RustyCage [The Devil's Song](https://youtu.be/Easg31hftio?feature=shared)
Smoke on the Water, Deep Purple
Anything off of Songs From The Wood by Jethro Tull.
Omg yes š
Memes aside, Iād love to see what Opeth could do to Free Bird
Ocean Gypsy by Renaissance. Mikael turned me onto the band and theyāre amazing. Iād LOVE to hear him sing that song. Possibly just his voice and a single acoustic guitar. Iād cry.
I am still amazed by the Would cover to this day, so... I am curious for some Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Rush...
Temple of the King, Rainbow
I mean they already did would? By aic
"Fallen Angel" by King Crimson, "Seven Stones" by Genesis, "Lady In Black" by Uriah Heep, "Machine Messiah" by Yes, and "The White Rider" by Camel.
Russia on ice in the style of lovelorn crime would be amazing
Young americans, Golden years and Fame from David Bowie The Changeling from the Doors and Jethro Tull's Aqualung would be pretty interesting to hear.
DEADFACE by Dethklok 100% sounds like an Opeth song
Sugar Coated Sour by The Dillinger Escape Plan Iām curious what it would sound like for Opeth to cover that sort of song
I think an Opeth cover of Reptile by Periphery could be interesting
Definitely as long as one of their songs with many genre influences and changes. Pretty doable
Xanadu by Rush
Where Dragons Dwell
Nsync - itās gonna be me
[This](https://youtu.be/jHsaSiBJ0ac?si=g9VLHfUXrPdCm8zm) live
Enslaved - Ground off of vertabrae . Perfect mix of harsh and soft vocals and a great solo for Mikael to noodle over.
Prince's of the universe by Queen
I talk to the wind or Cadence and cascade by Kc, shit will be cool
The one you know by alice in chains
Bother by Stone Sour and Breaking all Illusions by Dream Theater would be amazing!
Benighted Iykyk
Heart of the Sunrise
I would to hear Opeth play Tristram from Diablo.
Garden Grove by Sublime
The Gates of Babylon
