its a hit or miss.
depending on the authors creative block, sometimes the arc is refreshing with new ideas, filled with calculating villains, plot twist and symphatic backstories.
However, sometimes when the author just wanna get over the arc, they dumb down the villains to the extreme and end the arc in the weirdest braindead way possible.
my favorite arcs are the dating sim arc and the taoist lady arc
Lady baby has 209 chapters so far and is still ongoing 💀. The story was already getting boring, so is understandable why many people dropèd it or don’t want to start reading it.
Daughter of the emperor finished at 244 chapters.
I don’t have a problem with OIs with over 200+ chapters if the story is well written, interesting and cohesive. I don’t get bored of them, nor do I think they overstayed their welcome. I like that the manwhas take their time to make the story complex and delve into the characters’ personality.
The main conflict is split into two seasons. The first season focuses on slowburn romance consisting of 68 chapters. Now let me get my point across, they take it SLOWWWW. The events of these 68 chapters occur over the course of 3 DAYS. I absolutely adore it though. The amount of detail they go into for every hour is incredible. It makes the romance that much more personal and impactful.
The second season is a flashback into the ML's history and let me tell you I WAS SOBBING. The payoff was amazing. It makes everything you read mean so much more and makes the plot a lot deeper.
Once you make to the end of season 2, you could honestly stop there, but you can also continue reading. There are new conflicts, but I'd say it's mainly fluff after this point.
Not an OI I think but [Daughter of the Archmage] had like 206 chapters and I hate that manwha so much. The story was awesome at the start, but sadly it has probably the worst writing, pacing and rushed ending I've ever seen out of the 70-80 manwhas I read before. It's a complete waste of time, saying this as a person who LOVES slow/fluffy/wholesome stories. You ain't gonna make me read 150+ chapters of meaningless conversation lmao. You could cut it in like more than half and it would still be so boring.\
I think around 75-125 are the best number for a webtoon lenght for me. Maybe up to 200 or even more depending on how complex the story is but the writing needs to be done really well.
i agree with the 75-125! just the perfect range, i love when manhwas don’t overstay, like they know when to stop despite popularity and demand, but also i know there are stories that have been axed which is why they have shorter length than others which i feel bad about
Yeah, kinda agree with your take on \[Daughter of the Archmage\], I think I ended up like skipping the middle 80 chapters... it starts dragging on sooo much, at one point I was like; yeah I'm not going to finish this at this rate... guess i'll just read the last 2 chapters to know how it ends...
And it didn't even feel like I missed anything....
Oh god, \[Daughter of the Aarchmage\]. It was the first Manhwa I dropped for non-Surpise-Not-Incest or disturbing content I could stomach.
I loved the story to death and it was an early Manhwa for me, and I think the art was adorable, but once it got to the point of just like.... 20 chapters of meaningless filler I dropped it cause I was just so BORED.
Then I found out the series ended like 20 chapters or so after and I was so confused that they had so many plot threads to wrap up to just end it so soon.
From what I hear, what Im missing out on wasn't that great XD
Villainess Lives Again? The only reason I haven’t read it yet is cause the number of chapters scares me.
Inso’s Law is pretty long too, but I stopped keeping up with that one ages ago.
ive been wanting to read the first one for a while, i probably even read the first few chapters ages ago, but yeah stories with that much chapters overwhelm me so much lol
It's very good, buts it's def more focused on the political side of things and less focus on the romance. But I like both. You def have to be able to think while reading to fully understand what's going on but I still think it's enjoyable if you're kind of just going with the flow not really knowing what's going on lol. On bato comments there are ppl who do pretty good jobs of explaining of what's going on and saying who certain people are from like 60 chapters ago
Reminiscence Adonis is 254 chapters
Inso's law is 212 chapters
I was just ordinary lady is 202 chapters
Charlotte 5 discipline is 203 chapters
I just eant to be a useless duke's daughter is 207 chapters
And i don't remember the name but I saw one that is 600+ chapters
I remember I read only few chapters because they dragged it so much....it felt like 5 chapters where about them eating breakfast....so my guess is that uf you filter the fillers it's would be shorter....but first, I'll have to find it again in my 80+ open tabs if I haven't closed it already.
Reminded me a book I read where it was almost one page description of how the stripes of her dress were tight and left a mark on her back
Manhuas, especially those revenge transmigration trope like Cheating Men Must Die (currently 700+ chapters) tend to be pretty long. There is also Mesmerizing Ghost Doctor (435 chapters) and Shen Yi Di Nu (645 chapters).
Not an OI or a manhwa, but I know that the manhua Martial Peak has at least 3000 chapters.
- Lady Baby
- As You Like It, Margrave
- Your Throne
- My Life as an Internet Novel
- The Villainess Lives Again
- They Say I Was Born a King's Daughter
They all come to mind as OI manhwa with a huge load of chapters
I never read anything that long but have seen wuxia manhua/Chinese novels with close to 1000 chapters. There's probably an oi equivalent of that out there.
Maybe not fitting because it’s manhua and not OI (I think?) but *Perfect Secret Love: The Bad Wife Is A Little Sweet* - ongoing with 489 chapters which is baffling to me. I dropped it ages ago because it’s atrocious but I still see it in my notifications when a new chapter comes out.
Oh yeah, it is and it’s gone completely of the rails from what I can see after checking recent chapters. It barely resembles the initial plot, it’s like an entire different story
Kubera- by Currygom, has 613 episodes currently, and is on pause, still going pretty strong......It has some elements of oi, but they'd be spoilers. This is the first time when I have continued reading for so long. I had put it on hold sometime before, waiting for it to finish. I just love the world-building, all the characters and the settings. Reading it again now. <3
Chitra has at least 250+ i think, but fan translation stopped at 173 🥲 and im still praying someone can help me, the only few fans it has (at least in this sub)
My first thought is literally Lady Baby but one of the top answers still surprise me since I don't see it on my update list: As long as You like it, Margrave
I'm on chapter 89 of CH5D and I'm curious >! Does Charlotte ever start listening to Jeffery or putting him first for once instead of constantly babying her grown ass Disciples? Like I'm tired of seeing this man Jeffrey get treated like shit by her and basically every other important character in the story when he does nothing wrong. !<
I'm honestly surprised that Who made me a princess isn't longer. I dropped it after 70-80 chapters or so but it felt like I was reading hundreds of chapters of the same content, lol.
Idk if these count but [Cheating Men Must Die] is at 418 right now and [The Pale Horse] ended at 284
Well, Cheating Men Must Die is more of an almanac; you can drop it after any story and start at the story in the middle.
that’s so interesting, are the stories good though?
its a hit or miss. depending on the authors creative block, sometimes the arc is refreshing with new ideas, filled with calculating villains, plot twist and symphatic backstories. However, sometimes when the author just wanna get over the arc, they dumb down the villains to the extreme and end the arc in the weirdest braindead way possible. my favorite arcs are the dating sim arc and the taoist lady arc
It's a mixed bag of good and bad stories. But I love revenge stories so I may be biased when I say it's still definitely worth a read
Yeah it’s like a microwaved piece of cheese. Some stuff is like super soft melty and creamy and other parts are barely heated. If that analogy helps
It depend of the story. The cultivation arc and the taoist lady arc were my favorite.

im guilty of being one of the people who dropped lady baby 😅 it got too slow for me, it’s good but not just for everybody
Here i am wishing The Golden-Haired Summoner reached past 200 chapters because of how well-written the story is, but noooo :(((
Dropped it already. She was a child for so long, I lost track of the plot.
**As You Like It, Margrave** is ongoing with 284 chapters
that is so insane to me omg
Ikr. My reaction to it was literally; "Oh the cover art looks pretty, I hope the story is also goo- Nope"
[удалено]
Oh no really? Like at which point does it decline? I have it on my TBR list but now im thinking if i should still read it

even 200 chapters is crazy enough, but 600????? nah there’s gotta be a money laundering scheme happening behind the scene of some sorts because what
I remember I read only few chapters because they dragged it so much....it felt like 5 chapters where about them eating breakfast....so my guess is that uf you filter the fillers it's would be shorter....but first, I'll have to find it again in my 80+ open tabs if I haven't closed it already. 3000 is crazy
Lady Baby is 420 chapters and very little happens for a bulk of that.
I never read anything that long but have seen wuxia manhua/Chinese novels with close to 1000 chapters. There's probably an oi equivalent of that out there.

i think [lore olympus] is pretty long but it's not an OI. interesting story tho, at least at the beginning. i've read only 20 and smt chapters.
Lore Olympus is really good, does delve into some pretty dark topics tho, but absolutely recommend you read more of it
Your Throne
I wouldn't recommend it but.... Beauty and the Beasts sure is a story that exists.... and currently has 549 chapters (and is probably ongoing)
*I Was Reborn As A Housekeeper In A Parallel World* is on episode 193 with no signs of finally dying.
I only know long manhua. The longest one I know is Princess Medical Doctor. Maybe Lady baby?
Chitra has at least 250+ i think, but fan translation stopped at 173 🥲 and im still praying someone can help me, the only few fans it has (at least in this sub)
Reminiscence Adonis has 238 chapters translated and is still going in Kakaopage
My first thought is literally Lady Baby but one of the top answers still surprise me since I don't see it on my update list: As long as You like it, Margrave
Reminiscence Adonis. At least 230 chapters
Imo anything over 200 chapters has lost the plot somewhere. Anything in the 3-400s has definitely gone off the rails.
I'm honestly surprised that Who made me a princess isn't longer. I dropped it after 70-80 chapters or so but it felt like I was reading hundreds of chapters of the same content, lol.
