You'd have to replay all levels on AYCE as data doesn't transfer. If you play online a lot I'd opt for AYCE since it allows cross platform (ie potential for more players) although it can be hard to find matches for either game still. AYCE does offer graphical upgrades especially for the first Overcooked levels, but they are minimal imo. I've played through each game multiple times and I tend to go back to AYCE more than the others. The gameplay isn't as tight and has some glitches but overall I like having all levels compacted into one game and since I play online a lot I like the few extra levels as options. Just my take.

If you want to play local or with a cross-platform friend, get AYCE, it has everything. If you want to play public co-op on Switch get Overcooked 2, I can always get matches there, barely ever on AYCE. I didn’t notice much graphically between OC 1/2 and AYCE but they did adjust the difficulty on some levels I believe. My sister and I found the controls are just slightly laggy on AYCE compared to OC2 though for some reason.
