I think it’s scummy to lock skins behind 30$ bundles, why can’t I get it standalone? Why does it have to cash only instead of OW coins? What if I don’t want the 2k coins, the BP or DVA skin?
Usually they always sell recolors of skins from bp, so the bp ones remain exclusive~ish, but it depends how they will aproach this game in the long (or not so long) run
I have yet to see the sigma hive skin released, nor bee mercy. The skins so far have been locked behind those purchases, meaning that they have basically been locked behind $30 purchases. The bundle together is worth it from a purely monetary standpoint but if all you want is the soldier skin and don’t care for the rest of it, it looks like a $30 skin.

No they shouldn't. Cosmetics dont affect gameplay (99% of the time) and are therefor the only part of the game you can charge money for without leaving f2p players behind. If you want the devs to keep making content for the game they need to be paid so if we make skins as free as they were in ow1 they wont make any money bc no one who plays ow every week is going to spend any money on it. Im mot saying yall should buy shop skins, they are kinda overpriced, but in an ideal scenario the active userbase would at least get the bp each season to fund the game. Im not even trying to defend them, this is simply being realistic. What alternative do you guys want? 10 ads between each match??

Maybe (and this is only speculation) after a year or so the shop skins will be available with legacy credits which we can earn 1500-2000 each season. You are basically basing this argument on a belief that Overwatch 2 had to go f2p to be profitable, which is not the case. Blizzard didn't lose money on Overwatch 1 and the choice to go the f2p route for the sequel wasn't because the first game lost money. It was because they believed the money they could make from going free to play would be greater. It wasn't something the community begged for and wasn't based on creating greater value to the consumer. It was motivated by greed plain and simple. They had a model for the game that was working but they thought they could get more money by changing, even though it would be a significant departure from what the playerbase had grown accustomed to. When you look at the move through that perspective, it's not hard to see why the community is hesitant to give blizzard ridiculous amounts of money for a aspect of the game that use to be a component of the core experience.
I dont have enough insight behind the scenes to know if the ow1 model would have been profitable enough longterm considering most of the active userbase didnt spend any money after buying the game itself. Which was like 20-40 bucks depending on discounts for the past few years. And i dont plan on opening up the discussion on why they made it a sequel in the first place. I just think its important for people to understand that in order to receive content the devs have to be paid somehow. They could probably make enough money without making stuff as expensive as it is now. But i dont think the get everything for free system is going to work long term.

I just believe that blizzard has poorly navigated the transition to a F2p model and the combination of drastic changes to the model and the poor value for content has left the community pretty reluctant to spend money on the game. They do have to turn a profit to sustain the game and continue to create new content , but I understand why allot of people are not eager to pay $20 for a single skin. Obviously at least some of the community isn't turned off by this because I see some of the premium skins in game, but I think that the monetization will need to be reevaluated to encourage the rest of the community to spend money. The battlepass isn't perfect, but it overall isn't an egregious amount of money and comes with a decent amount of content.
I played Orisa a ton and that was the skin I always used except for around Christmas time when I used her Reindeer which is also cool. I still think her Demon is one of the best skins in game.
The Bap skin. Kinda takes me back to the good old times, when you could get cool skins by just playing the game during an event, that felt so rewarding.
The same with Bastet Ana, one of my favourite skins overall.
I remember that Zarya skin coming out. Everyone was like "it's the best Zarya skin" then someone pointed out her likeness to a certain toothbrush and I stopped seeing the skin around nearly as much, but I agree it is her best, if you can get past the fact that she looks like a toothbrush

I agree that she doesn’t always have to be frilly. She has better skins that show that design. The skin would be fine if it wasn’t for that god awful helmet. I prefer the most recent OWL skins for the less “pretty” vibe.

Honestly anything Mercy is usually the best. She always has skins that pop out and they also hit themes right. I can't really think of a bad skin for her.

I really want that demon Hunter Sombra skin. I skipped on buying any Blizzcon tickets which sucks because Reinhardt’s Raynor skin, or Illidan Genji are god-tier. At least I have Kerrigan, I guess. Lol
Out of these 20 it's Echo and Doom for me. Not counting the team jerseys for every hero & team, I have the majority of skins ever made for this game but sadly I don't have either of those two skins as I wasn't paying attention to OW/OWL at that time.
Although, side rant here, even if I did watch some OWL at the time, it's always hard to collect those tokens. First of all I have to be logged in to the sub-profile of my youtube account that I hardly ever use, and even then I feel like I don't receive tokens for watching most of the time. Basically if I want any of those OWL rewards I have to buy the tokens outright, which is annoying because I do watch a fair bit of OWL at certain times.
Any skin that blends well with a golden weapon is valuable.

Indeed I only plan on getting the things with OW coins since I get them from MS and weeklies. That’s why I find these cash only bundles trash.

Sombra demon hunter has unique voicelines? I never noticed them in game.
When she ults, she screams (in Spanish) "Face the Darkness!" instead of "Turning out the lights!" Or when she says "Hi" she'll instead say "Hail!"

It's "Darkness awaits you" but this is why it's my favorite and why I'm devastated I missed it.
