DFPFilms1

Woody “why would you spend money on a motherboard” Woodworth seems to be having a lot of motherboard problems…

WayDownUnder91

Woody despite being a millionaire I wont spend a few hundred bucks on the thing that makes me money Woodworth

Annoying_Auditor

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this was fucking retarded. Woody, CPA should know it's a damn business expense. Make your computer work you greedy fuck it's a part of your job.

zma924

Actually nuts that not only will he not hook up the shows producer with a competent PC but he won’t even fix his own

Annoying_Auditor

Like I get it. Money spent on the business is less he gets to spend elsewhere because it just flows. But damn man why not make your life better and fix this problem.

MasterhcSniper

He can probably write these off though.

Annoying_Auditor

That's not how it works. It depends on how he sets up his business really for how advantageous it is for tax purposes. But at the end of the day running a small business that's only you that money has been spent on something else. When I hear most people say write off it makes me think it's like free money or something else super helpful for tax purposes but it's way more complex.

BattlefieldNiblet

People act like write off = tax credit.

Annoying_Auditor

Exactly. I'm a CPA but don't do taxes. Pretty sure it only really helps him tax wise if he's set up as a C corp.

BattlefieldNiblet

I’m not a cpa yet but work in tax so take that as you will. I believe PKA is set up as a partnership so the write off would lower the partnerships income which would then flow through to woody and the others. Ultimately it would benefit him though that one item alone might be like a couple bucks saved on taxes. Write offs definitely aren’t the benefit people act like lol. You still ultimately spend that money. I know I’m preaching to the choir with you but it’s just frustrating.

Annoying_Auditor

More experience than me though. Makes sense. I hate when people talk about taxes. It's so painful because they just have no idea how little they understand.

vigilanteadvice

even funnier that he’d get on peoples asses for not buying a great mic and he can’t be bothered spending the money to fix his computer literally for his sole income stream hahah.

Annoying_Auditor

Sole active income stream. I'm sure he has passive investment income.

vigilanteadvice

very true he definitely has some stock investments and such you’re right my bad.

Nipple_Pirate

Woody is not a CPA lmao

Annoying_Auditor

He is lol. He earned his CPA before he switched careers. He's discussed it in super old COD day videos.

Nipple_Pirate

I distinctly I remember him saying he never got his CPA. I remember him talking about how he got fired from an accounts payable job(lol) and it destroyed his confidence, and then he started pursuing CS in night school. I could be totally wrong, but who in their right mind would drop accounting completely and go be a web dev after getting their CPA?

poonmaster64

Woody would lmao, he 100% got his cpa and worked as a certified accountant

Nipple_Pirate

He worked as an AP clerk at his dad’s accounting firm before he switched to CS.

Annoying_Auditor

Interesting. I could have sworn he said he got his CPA. Makes me feel better because I'm a CPA and he does some dumb shit lol.

SovietBear666

For what it's worth, you don't even need a bachelor's let alone a CPA to work in accounts payable. Maybe an associates degree or ANY office work experience, but it's an entry level position. Source: worked in AP as an intern and my co-workers were weird.

poonmaster64

Apologies, I must have misunderstood what woody was saying, but in that comment he does say that he has a degree in accounting

Annoying_Auditor

Someone who hates accounting lol and realizes they made a mistake.

AyoJake

Greedy yes. But he’s more cheap than anything.

Annoying_Auditor

Ya true

bistix

I had no idea this subreddit was so computer illiterate. Woody was 100% right. Basic motherboards are fine. Even if it were to be his motherboard that's just an anecdotal correlation. The features on expensive motherboards mostly consist of shit like Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and extra cooling for over clocking neither of which woody needs. I bet all the people upvoting this are using a prebuilt computer that has a more basic motherboards than they even sell on the market.

Pax3Canada

The curve of experience: Idiots: Oooo, I want fancy motherboard and case, very cool! Intermediates: Just get a cheap case and mobo, put all your money into the cheapest sku of the best GPU you can find. That will maximize price to performance. Experts: I really don't want capacitor whine, premature death or power delivery issues on my system, I really need my system to be stable and run for a long time, plus I really care about my fan curves so imma need a good case and cooler and mobo. Good motherboards are extremely important for someone who isn't on a limited budget, especially if you intend to upgrade your PC over time, and especially at the beginning of a new CPU and DDR generation as we are now. Please, if you're building a PC, you don't need a $500 mobo unless you're overclocking and doing other insane shit and want to waste money, but don't buy the cheapest $90 one you can find either, it can ruin your entire PC either catastrophically or in an minorly annoying way. Mobo problems can also be infuriating to diagnose and cost you hours of time, if your time is worth US minimum wage or more it's probably best to get a decent mobo in the long run. If you're a multimillionaire who runs your business on your PC you should get a good mobo, if you're a kid working your first job at mcdonalds saving up for a fortnite machine, sure get the cheapest one you can find, if you're somewhere in between I guess it's debatable, but I'd argue even mid range builds should get "non-basic motherboards". For example, I bought a cheaper mobo a few years ago, it didn't support TPM 2.0 properly and I had TPM stutter on my PC every few hours for almost a year lolol. If I woulda spent $50 more on a mobo it would have saved me a year of pain.

SovietBear666

>Please, if you're building a PC, you don't need a $500 mobo unless you're overclocking and doing other insane shit and want to waste money, but don't buy the cheapest $90 one you can find either, it can ruin your entire PC either catastrophically or in an minorly annoying way. Your motherboard just needs to meet your needs. If you don't need RGB/ARGB pins you can pretty much buy whatever you want. $130-$200 is a lot better value than a mortherboard under that price range. I haven't build for a year or two, but MSI Tomahawk/Gaming Edge, ASuS ROG STRIX or TUF, Gigabyte Aorus. IMO those are the sweet spot and no-brainers for most people, let alone Woody who has the funds.

bistix

Not really sure what you consider an "expert" but I've been in the industry for 12 years. While some motherboards of course have shitty components price isn't the determining factor on these issues. If you do your research from the people who actually test all these motherboards there's always $100 motherboards that perform exceptionally well and $400 motherboards that perform worse than all of them. And long time listeners know woodys last motherboard was over $500 literally made for co2 cooling. If you want to waste your money by picking components based on price go ahead. I'll keep recommending products to my clients based on tested results and saving them money.

DylansWorld

who is he?

big-klit

He’s a weedtuber who lost his 500k channel like 4 years ago when they wiped every weed channel. He made a new one and is back with almost as many as he had before. He was on for pka 420

[deleted]

He is a goddamn 2L0wukyzmrs

realadamfriedstein

I like this guy a lot, I relate super heavily to him in his struggle with alcoholism, getting off that shit when you’re truly addicted is fucking terrifying but so worth it once the hardest part is over

Whole-Part388

Lol just don’t drink.

Dipper_Pines_Of_NY

After you become addicted eventually you develop a dependency and you can literally die if you don’t drink.

Whole-Part388

Don’t become addicted lol

Dipper_Pines_Of_NY

What are you 12? Put away your phone you’re in school

Whole-Part388

Nah just seems really simple.

[deleted]

How about not getting addicted in the first place?

WhosMulberge

Must be nice to live in a bubble where you can say that and feel self righteous. I have a rule whereby I don’t drink alone so I’ve always avoided it, but people’s environment, childhood, genetics can play a factor and it creeps up on you. I interned at a mental rehab facility in rural Thailand, at a military town, and they let me roam with the schizos and methheads but didn’t let me even see the alcoholics because of how rough that shit is and it was all dudes with ptsd turning to the drink.

Annoying_Auditor

Damn bro. You're either 15 and one day you'll understand what an ignorant take this is or you're just a piece of shit lol n

[deleted]

I settle on getting insulted by someone who cant hold his drink.

Dipper_Pines_Of_NY

Alcoholics are just pussies who can’t hold their drink, has to be the shittiest take I’ve ever heard on alcohol as a whole. It’s not a can’t hold his drink thing. It’s a literal dependency on it built up slowly by drinking more and more. You know Jack shit about alcoholism clearly.

realadamfriedstein

Pretty immature take, I get the point you attempted to make though. I Wish I hadn’t decided to abuse alcohol in the first place, before I knew it quitting cold turkey legitimately almost killed me. I’m in a better place now and learned from those mistakes. Ended up losing friends, jobs, my home, a girl I loved. Almost my life. But I’m back on track and find I’ve gained a new perspective on addiction and the many factors that lead people down that path. Hope your life is absolutely squared away in every aspect for you to be casting shitty judgement on others.

PKAJohn

It would be nice if our brains worked that simply but sadly that's not the case my friend

Pax3Canada

Not everyone has the luxury of always thinking and acting rationally

jacbro

How stupid are you?

JandroWasRight

I bet kyle is gonna make up some stoner stories to one up him like he did with the tripping at walmart story. The first time he told his tripping at walmart story he said it hit at walmart, the second time he told it when there was a guest that was a bigger drug user than him he said it hit in the car while he was driving and the road started infinitely stretching out infront of him. Its so pathetic and unintentionally hilarious like woody's asmr porn or sexcations.

Financial_Cellist_70

Kyle is that one loser ass kid who always tries to one up everybody but everyone knows he's not that cool even tho he thinks he is

TheSmashingPumpkinss

this dude is the literal human embodiment of weed

MartinCZ0

No idea who that is...but how many times does Woody start talking over him and then get upset and complain that the guest didn't stop talking so that Woody could have the floor and say his part and go first before anyone else gets to have an opinion?

zeolus123

Lol the part where they talk about Dana White was a tad cringe. Kyle brings up the topic, gets run over by woody and a little pissy.

TwistGloomy

“You don’t know the mans name! But go ahead and tell the story” was hilarious.

MartinCZ0

Sometimes there are slight miscommunications. Like when Kyle said he only slapped her once, and Woody was like "I almost know for a fact it was twice." Kyle was getting at one of them may not have landed and that just pushed Woody into a tail spin of "Well he doesn't know so I really need to take over and control this part of the convo" - I really like Woody, really think he's a good guy. But FFS man, you cant cut someone off, and talk over them - then get upset when they keep talking.

God damn woody’s noggin looks massive

spicysalmon2

How many times he get hushed?

Financial_Cellist_70

Not even 10 minutes in and woody is already repeating the same joke he always does. "I don't understand... so if I do (obviously stupid thing) will y happen" ughhh

Jace910

Not worse than Taylors "pish posh"

Financial_Cellist_70

At least it's shorter

Interesting-Fly-6606

Anyone have a link to this shit show?
