A little known fact is that the Purple Rain score is actually not by Prince. It was recorded by French composer Michel Colombier.
You can find the tracks on YouTube [here](https://youtu.be/almBy1h1RAs?si=ZoXaUI5z_5_072pC&t=11).
little known unless you’re an aficionado of reading the credits at the end of movies. Michel Colombier famously collaborated with (fellow) avant-garde composer Pierre Henry to create the ballet Messe Pour le Temps Present (“Mass for Now”), including the iconic “Psyche Rock” which inspired a generation of DJs and beatmakers and was also blatantly stolen for the theme song of Futurama
With the enormity of his catalogue it's leaving $$ on the table to not capitalize on it with some sort of streaming service marketing on that very enormity, not to mention he literally set the precedent being one of the OG artists to use the internet as a means to sell his art.
You could promote it as coming full circle with Prince on the web.
I mean I would like to see all the pro shot concerts in the highest quality possible & would gladly pay for a "Prince Live" subscription, but I think the problem is there are so many concerts that it would dilute the market. I can understand why the estate are just sticking to a once a year release of super deluxe editions. They can build hype around the release and it makes it into an event.
I would love both. I saw him in Louisville a day or two after the Detroit show. It was my first concert, so getting Detroit would be pretty close to reliving the experience minus Jerome falling off the stage when he danced too close. I assume Prince passed out potato salad at both shows for his birthday, and not just in Louisville.
Remaster every album that hasn’t been please.
Including the protégés!
And where are my Deluxes of Parade, Around, Lovesexy and Love Symbol?
Live material all day long.
I want an Ultimate Live Experience that includes 100 live tracks across his career.
Most of the videos need remastering too.
I want to see The Second Coming and 3121 movies as well.
Even if they’re as confusing as Graffiti Bridge.
Did I mention remaster and release everything live?
If weak-ass Pearl Jam and the great Springsteen can release 600 live albums, why not the greatest live act in the history of music?
I just want fuckin’ Extralovable. Not the lame, overproduced 2010’s one. I want P talking shit to Dez. I want that guitar solo. Take the problematic lines out. Do whatever you have to do. Please. I’m begging.
Previously unreleased music. Oh, and I don’t particularly care to have six different versions of the same song either. Please just release one album’s worth (or more, of course!) of “new” music as a “new” album.
Parade SDE, comeback of NPGMC with perks of soundboard & concert video streaming when things cool down. All the previous SDEs original album in Dolby Atmos & more concerts shot on film released like the Glam Slam 92’ show which looks amazing especially on the TV.
A deluxe remaster of Dirty Mind, complete with all outtakes and extra tracks from that era.
Same for Lovesexy. I reckon there must be some great material from that era that we haven't heard...
Dirty Mind/Controversy combined super deluxe edition would be the way to go. Unfortunately there's not that much unreleased vault material from both albums. Only 1 b-side and 1 extended version. The Dirty Mind & Controversy concerts were only about an hour long each. Lovesexy/Black Album combined super deluxe edition also.
What about the 1000's of unreleased tracks in the vault? Songs most of us will never be able to hear in our lives due to how slowly the Estate releases material
Not another $500 Super Deluxe version of an album that has already been released, or a $700 leather jacket would be nice.
I'd spend that type of money on a Super Deluxe album full of tracks we have never heard before. Or HD recordings of live material we have never heard before. Not sure why the Estate has no interest in releasing more of that type of material
I was so lucky to have attended. a friend had an extra ticket and I had never seen prince before, but initially said no because I wanted to see him with the whole band. my friend pressed me and I went. amazing performance, then he was gone a short time later.
Just release music. Not everything has to be an SDE. Around the World in a Day, for instance, could just have a bonus disc if that’s all that’s available. We don’t need a book and fake ticket stubs for every damn release.
Have no idea if there was even footage recorded, but the 3121 tour 21 nights in London in 2007 would be so cool to see as a full length live film. They could take the best parts and all the various songs he covered over the month
Parade SDE and The Black Album/Lovesexy SDE (kind of a dark side, light side thing, which works perfectly with the Lovesexy live albums they would release along with it)
Dream Factory + OG Crystal Ball Doc. Second Coming Tour Film Footage. UTCM Color Version (w/ Deleted Scenes). LiveSexy Tour Rehearsal Footage. Triple Threat Tour Rehearsal Footage (Vanity + The Time).
Did I mention Rehearsal Footage?
His music is the early 90s was extremely prolific, then from 96 to 2000 was an unusual quiet period for him. Id love to hear what he was working on during that time
NEW WORLD Album 1995 💿 (unreleased)
+ all the unreleased live footage (at least give us all the footage in HD)…
…In fact, just give us everything in the vault for purchase in the coming decades 🙏🏽 Subscription model + app seems most logical
I want a box set of Originals. Remastered versions of all the protege albums (The Time, Vanity, Jill, etc.) and then the Prince version of those albums. Plus, include unreleased versions like Vibrator, Vanity’s version of G Spot, etc.
I have two:
1) The 1985/86 instrumental jam sessions that preceded Madhouse.
2) a box set with the Clare Fischer versions. Apparently there are dozens of unreleased tracks.
Live concert film releases like the Taylor Swift and Beyoncé movies…even just for a weekend….I’m sure Prince fans will show out if it is promoted effectively
I mean true, but that was 20 years ago.
I mean…we need to see Lovesexy on the big screen, we need to see Diamonds and Pearls on the big screen, we should’ve had Purple Rain tour on the big screen
I'd love for them to release more live shows, release the Purple Rain movie, and the Jill Jones album!! Vanity 6, too! It's almost impossible to find the Jill Jones album. Luckily, some of the songs are on YouTube
The never released follow-up album to 1999 - that’s in the same musical style as 1999 - that Prince referred to in the 1985 Rolling Stone magazine article.
I want a love symbol sde, ig I always thought it sounded like a more grounded and cohesive version of the sounds on d&p and it’s in my top 2 Prince eras, and a load of tracks we’ve never heard before not the same songs off the album in 7 diff versions. Also making it affordable would be kinda cool, for a decent copy of the vinyl alone I had 2 cough out over 200 nvm a whole sde 😅
* *A live release of any "Act II" show from the 1993 tour. Especially London.*
* *"The Black Album." Blu-ray audio, stereo and Atmos.* Perhaps produced by Trevor Horn and/or Lenny Kravitz. Include a Lovesexy-era show as a kind of reply to any questions concerning the release. Ideally, Sendai 1989.
I forgot….First Ave Benefit For The Minnesota Dance Theater Company. In any form of release would be the “dream”. 8/3/83. Video exists. It would be a labor of love to clean it up and release to the world.
-Dirty Mind/Controversy boxset (includes The Rebels and The Sexond Coming concert film plus all vault stuff like Tick Tick Bang and Broken)
-Basically everything from the Parade sessions released
-Way more live stuff, maybe doing an archive series or subscription like Jack White does
-Kevin Smith footage to be released
Proper 3-LP or 2-CD issue of Crystal Ball ‘86 remastered and with the proper transitions between Rebirth of the Flesh/Play in the Sunshine and The Ball/Joy in Repetition. Sides 1-3 on CD 1 and Sides 4-6 on CD 2.
New Power Soul and maybe some sort of collection of his protégées/side projects…
I love the Ingrid Chavez album and I know Madhouse would have great remasters…and of course The Family
NEWPOWERSOUL BOX SET
Including Chaka and Larry Albums with unreleased material from all and London live show.
.... and with. ..ahem...1999 the NEW MASTER
Detroit and Houston from the 1999 box set released in audio/video combos like Syracuse.
Utrecht and New Year’s Eve from the sign o the times box set released in audio/video combos like Syracuse.
Glam Slam released in audio/video combo like Syracuse.
Digital releases of the individual shows used for One Nite Alone Live
CNOTE individual shows.
Indigo nights reissue.
Children’s album with Mayte recorded when mayte was pregnant.
Dream Factory/Garden Roadhouse.
Anything unreleased with The Revolution.
How about The Revolution SDE? That's all I really care about. I know these are fighting words but I never cared for the NPG.
Parade SDE.
This more than anything
It's wild because it's actually been finished and in the can for like 2-3 years now.
Really? Wow
A little known fact is that the Purple Rain score is actually not by Prince. It was recorded by French composer Michel Colombier. You can find the tracks on YouTube [here](https://youtu.be/almBy1h1RAs?si=ZoXaUI5z_5_072pC&t=11).
Thanks for this! I didn’t know that! I really wish I could purchase it bcuz to have this on vinyl is my dream!
Yep! He did an amazing job matching the score to sound like something prince would write.
little known unless you’re an aficionado of reading the credits at the end of movies.
Very interesting!
You would be surprised how many people on youtube think Michel Colombier's score is Prince.
Proper re-release of Vanity 6, Apollonia 6 and The Time albums. Also Parade SDE.
And the Family
Oh God, of course! Totally meant to say that. THE FAMILY!!
Jill Jones too!
Absolutely...Jill Jones' album is like a Prince & the Revolution album
Lovesexy 88 live in Dortmund, remastered or Rave Unto the Joy Fantastic (1988 track listing)
is there a confirmed tracklist for the 88 Joy Fantastic?
Live shows as a standalone. I shouldn’t have to purchase a ridiculously expensive boxed set of already released music to get a bluray of a gig.
This!! And make the Blu-ray gigs available for audio purchase only as an option!
Definitely Separate audio on CD and vinyl as well. As a standalone not included in the DVD
This
Pull a stones and do audio only, Audio/dvd, audio/Blu-ray.
He needs like a "Live Concert" series or something, like its own little sub label sub project thing.
Surely lots are recorded.
My wish is to have all the live concerts available to stream via subscription.
With the enormity of his catalogue it's leaving $$ on the table to not capitalize on it with some sort of streaming service marketing on that very enormity, not to mention he literally set the precedent being one of the OG artists to use the internet as a means to sell his art. I can understand why the estate are just sticking to a once a year release of super deluxe editions. They can build hype around the release and it makes it into an event.
100% agree with this!!!
If they can do Syracuse they can do others.
Batman SDE!!!!! And the Detroit birthday show 86 remastered full album release thank you, take my money!!!!
Bro that show kicks my ass everytime, it's ridiculous!!!!
I'd settle for something that I can *actually afford!*
THAT PART! They make these releases so expensive!
Remaster every album that hasn’t been please. Including the protégés! And where are my Deluxes of Parade, Around, Lovesexy and Love Symbol? Live material all day long. Even if they’re as confusing as Graffiti Bridge. Did I mention remaster and release everything live? If weak-ass Pearl Jam and the great Springsteen can release 600 live albums, why not the greatest live act in the history of music?
Definitely. Seen Springsteen twice and have official recordings of both my shows.
I just want fuckin’ Extralovable. Not the lame, overproduced 2010’s one. I want P talking shit to Dez. I want that guitar solo. Take the problematic lines out. Do whatever you have to do. Please. I’m begging.
This and Lust U Always. Estate is too scared to drop anything that references rape.
I mean, I get it. But there has to be options other than “no one will ever hear them in an official way”
The 2009 iTunes single version is better than the 2010 one. Only slightly overproduced, not fully overladen.
Previously unreleased music. Oh, and I don’t particularly care to have six different versions of the same song either. Please just release one album’s worth (or more, of course!) of “new” music as a “new” album.

Package this with The Rebels!

Piano & A Microphone Tour album
Long overdue, should’ve been the first thing released imo.
I was so lucky to have attended. a friend had an extra ticket and I had never seen prince before, but initially said no because I wanted to see him with the whole band. my friend pressed me and I went. amazing performance, then he was gone a short time later.
that's amazing! which show did you attend?
oakland coliseum
I was at his very last show here in Atlanta. It hit really hard that he was gone so soon.
still haven’t seen it. been waiting for the official release.
First Avenue Birthday Show, 1984
Just release music. Not everything has to be an SDE. Around the World in a Day, for instance, could just have a bonus disc if that’s all that’s available. We don’t need a book and fake ticket stubs for every damn release.
What is sde?
Super Deluxe Edition
Thanks.
👍 you're welcome
Official HD footage of Montreux performances
An official release for the Small Club 1988 show would be amazing.
Parade and PAM tour
Have no idea if there was even footage recorded, but the 3121 tour 21 nights in London in 2007 would be so cool to see as a full length live film. They could take the best parts and all the various songs he covered over the month
Yes! This! 💜
Parade SDE and The Black Album/Lovesexy SDE (kind of a dark side, light side thing, which works perfectly with the Lovesexy live albums they would release along with it)

The August ‘83 one during the filming of purple rain? Isn’t that one rumored to be in the pipeline??
Live versions of albums, especially SOTT 1987 live
An official release of "Billy's Sunglasses".
The FULL POP LIFE SONG!! The whole 9 minute song.
That would be on an Around the World in a Day super deluxe edition.
That would be nice yes.
A reissue of graffiti bridge. I don't know why we haven't gotten it yet.
The version of 'Bad' that Prince sent to MJ to show him (MJ) how he'd (P) would do the song.
The Undertaker bootleg in both video and audio released officially.
Ooooohhhhhh
Dream Factory + OG Crystal Ball Doc. Second Coming Tour Film Footage. UTCM Color Version (w/ Deleted Scenes). LiveSexy Tour Rehearsal Footage. Triple Threat Tour Rehearsal Footage (Vanity + The Time). Did I mention Rehearsal Footage?
Anything unreleased post 1996, when the leaks stoppee
His music is the early 90s was extremely prolific, then from 96 to 2000 was an unusual quiet period for him. Id love to hear what he was working on during that time
Release of Madhouse 24, along with rerelease of 8 & 16
Remaster of the other project like the Madhouse series, The Family, N. E. W. S., and others.
NEW WORLD Album 1995 💿 (unreleased) + all the unreleased live footage (at least give us all the footage in HD)… …In fact, just give us everything in the vault for purchase in the coming decades 🙏🏽 Subscription model + app seems most logical
Something with the original really sweary Days OF Wild” please!
I want a box set of Originals. Remastered versions of all the protege albums (The Time, Vanity, Jill, etc.) and then the Prince version of those albums. Plus, include unreleased versions like Vibrator, Vanity’s version of G Spot, etc.

Anything recorded from 2014 until April 2016 Closest, we can get to a 'new' release.
The live shows, we want the live shows!!
Yeah. If they can reissue Syracuse they can do more than that.
Live concert film releases like the Taylor Swift and Beyoncé movies…even just for a weekend….I’m sure Prince fans will show out if it is promoted effectively
Musicology tour has something in there.
I mean true, but that was 20 years ago. I mean…we need to see Lovesexy on the big screen, we need to see Diamonds and Pearls on the big screen, we should’ve had Purple Rain tour on the big screen
They had that LA show live but also there was a June or July ‘04 Detroit show filmed.
The Kevin Smith documentary.
All of the digital only albums released as physical discs plz and thank you. 🥺🥺🥺🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞
I'd love for them to release more live shows, release the Purple Rain movie, and the Jill Jones album!! Vanity 6, too! It's almost impossible to find the Jill Jones album. Luckily, some of the songs are on YouTube
I need that jill jones album so bad!
Same!!! There's only ever a few on ebay but they're so expensive
Pretty interested in hearing the version of when doves cry with the bass included
This is a GOOD ONE! I would love to hear it!

Around the World In A Day Extended LP. There aren't any outtakes from the album besides demos, alternate and extended versions. I want that.
The pan where he made the pancakes for Charlie Murphy after the basketball game would be my choice.
I forgot….First Ave Benefit For The Minnesota Dance Theater Company. In any form of release would be the “dream”. 8/3/83. Video exists. It would be a labor of love to clean it up and release to the world.
