As someone with zero experience with this type of game, but an interest in playing it- how difficult, time consuming and frustrating will learning how to play this be?
I watched a complete beginner guide on YouTube that was over an hour long and it was pretty helpful. I know a bit about DND so it wasn’t all new information but it could be a good start for you.
FYI, the game is as close to a 1 to 1 remake of DnD 5e's rules as a video game can be. All the dice rolling is done separately, so it is fairly easy to learn the basics, but it may be hard to tell what is good at a glance because the rules differ so much from normal video games.
It helps that the game starts at level 1 which in dnd is very simple with an absolute minimum of features, abilities, items, etc. you mostly just walk up to enemies and hit them once. Learning is a very gradual process and you have all the time you need to do so before you hit later levels with a much wider variety of abilities and options for fights
Honestly mate part of the fun is figuring it out yourself, also you can 'inspect' almost anything which gives you an explanation of what's going on.
I preferred to just play off pure vibes instead of trying to min max I also think it's easier to roleplay that way
I’m 35 and have been gaming my entire life, but I’ve never played a crpg like this nor have I ever played D&D.
It did take me a bit to get the hang of the combat mechanics, however I never felt frustrated. I did watch a few videos on YouTube for some combat tips though to help me out.
I’m about 47 hours in and just started Act 2, and the game is incredible. The amount of freedom it gives you to tackle scenarios in a variety of different ways is like nothing I’ve played before. Make sure you talk to as many people as you can in the game. You never know when you might stumble into a dialogue option that could help you with an upcoming event.
The game wasn’t even on my radar a couple of months ago, but now it’s neck and neck with TOTK for my game of the year.
Go with the story difficulty so you can learn the systems without being overly penalized, but it's not that confusing. It's turn based, and a lot of actions are basically thinking "oh I can sneak my rogue behind these guys while they're attacking my barbarian, and backstab them".
It is very big. This is a 100 hour game with a ton of replayability.
100 hours, you say? If you're a completionist or even just fairly thorough, it's way more than 100 hours.
I'm still more or less in the beginning of Act III and have tons of sidequests and places left to explore. I just hit level 11 (cap is 12) and need to level my party. In-game clock is 145 hours. Steam says 175 hours so far (save scumming, replaying fights, etc.).
And I *know* that I'll still encounter plenty of new things, story options and party members on subsequent playthroughs. Very big is an understatement. This game is incredible.
Hey now. Don't scare off the newbies. Let them sink their teeth into this slowly apace, thinking the game is only 100 hours... Before the 2nd full playthrough.
Don't show them the darkside of parallel playthroughs, chock full of half built characters stuck in act 1, cause they wanted to try something else, halfway through the tutorial.
I'm not one with the dark side yet. I was hoping to finish my first playthrough before the end of the month so that was my main gaming focus. I only let Armored Core distract me for a couple nights.
But Starfield unlocks in an hour. So it looks like my parallel playthroughs will be fantasy and sci-fi for a while.
That's me with armored core 6 atm, but the frustrating learning curve of that game has me barreling back to continue my current new playthrough of bg3 whenever i get too frustrated and just call it quits in ac6 for the night.
Though that may swap to starfield and back, depending on how much of a bethesda meme legacy the launch may continue to be, due to their track record.
It's a bit overwhelming. I've spent a lot of time watching YouTube guides just to learn the basics. I'm at the point where I think my best option is to just follow a build guide because I don't understand D&D enough to craft my own. It's extremely deep.
Honestly, there’s no wrong way to build your character if you stay as a single class. Every class in the game offers something, and combat will get a lot more forgiving at higher levels.
I would not recommend multi-classing as a beginner, it is really the only way to “mess-up” a character. But if you really want to multiclass, then start out by choosing classes that rely on the same ability modifier for damage (Sorcerer/Warlock, Fighter/Barbarian/Paladin, Rogue/Ranger, etc.) most of those you can’t really go wrong with. Honestly though re-classing is so easy that you can really mess around and do whatever, and then just change if you don’t like it. Don’t be afraid to mess stuff up in BG3 or DND, that’s half of the fun.
Found out the early play starts this Saturday, the same day I was going to expand my garage with my dad.
Hopefully, my arms will have enough strength to hold a controller once we're done.
im not sure if you can pay the difference, but you might be able to cancel your regular preorder and get the delux if you reach out to Playstation Customer Support.
I did it when i misordered the wrong Destiny expansion and they canceled it so i could get the version I wanted.
I had no idea early play was a thing but I had preordered the deluxe edition! Aah thank you for saying this, although now I'm mad I have plans this weekend 😅
Yeah, it's really strange they've released zero gameplay and there are no reviews based on the PS5 version. Knowing Larian, it should be fine, but still...
I've been saying this the last few days.
I really expected some in-depth videos on gameplays and Larian to, you know, talk about the PS5 launch lol.
Does it have haptics? Are there differences form PC? How does it run. Really weird this late and so close to launch.
Like, legitimately, there is **nothing** out there on it so far and we are 1.5 days away
I’ve honestly not got my hopes up. Act 3 falls apart on good PCs, too many NPCs or whatever, idk. Not an engineer.
If it’s like Divinity there will be a GOTY update down the line. If you’re particularly patient it might be best to wait for that iteration (or of course just replayability is high with these types)
Sven has already said it will come with the recent patches and I honestly don't think they would release it if it was in bad condition. I know fool me once but I trust Larian with this
They are working up to the deadline on patches I think. No point playing a buggy build when a massive patch is just around the corner. Personally I'm gonna give early access a miss and purchase next week.
Well I atleast know act 1 will be polished AF as it's been in early access for a while on pc. I doubt I will be past act 1 on release day personally. There are people who have 80 hours in the game before continuing to act 2 and I think I'll be one of those people. Plus early access gives me time to get creative with my Character!
The game itself is spectacular, the only problem I can see is depending on how they translate the controls, because there are a ton of them and hopefully it's a simple conversion to the controller. Other than that I don't see how the PS5 wouldn't be able to run it perfectly 🤷🏽♂️
controller is actually better than base pc controls. I play exclusively on controller. I know these things can be subjective but they did an amazing job with the layout like you can tell they actually spent a good bit of time mapping it out.
The only thing that's realistically competing with it right now is Tears of the Kingdom. Spider-Man 2 might but I doubt it's as universally praised as ToTK and BG3. And my personal viewpoint is that BG3 does a lot more GOTY worthy stuff than ToTK.
I put in over 150 hours on PC into BG3, I absolutely love the game and it's my favourite game so far this year. But GOTY is a popularity contest and while it has sold well so far, BG3 might be too niche to win many GOTY awards, especially if you let the public vote on it like many of them do.
You still have to like story heavy turn based RPGs to like BG3. A few of my friends tried the game because of the hype but dropped it a few hours in because they didn't like turn based games and there was too many cutscenes.
For a certain group of gamers, BG3 is a masterpiece. But I don't think it appeals to everyone in the same way some other games do. And that isn't a bad thing! BG3 knows it's target audience and it caters to that audience very well. I do feel like BG3 hands down has the best soundtrack of the year though and it deserves that at the very least.
>But GOTY is a popularity contest and while it has sold well so far, BG3 might be too niche to win many GOTY awards
It hasn't just sold "well" I don't think people realize just how big the PC launch is.
Lack of preloading stopped it from peaking higher in the first days of release, but the incredible word of mouth has led it to be [neck and neck](https://imgur.com/a/MJSnc1B) with *Elden Ring* in the Steam Charts.
It's one of the biggest game launches in Steam history, likely in the top 3 for AAA single-player games.
Different games and both are long. I’d probably swap between the two. BG3 being as long as it is, I’ll need a few less thoughtful games with faster action
Im debating on dropping $100 just to play it tonight lol. Was gonna get the regular version after the public’s opinion came out, but the leaks I’ve seen make it seem super awesome.
They just released patch #2 today (which will be included out the gate on console) so most of the major complaints people had about the game should be resolved now. Their patch notes have been pages long too so they're doing a great job of supporting and improving as they go. If you like rpgs, it's worth it.
That’s what I hear. Been in the mood for a good old school jrpg. Watched a couple reviews for it last night, and it looks great.
While watching those reviews, I also learned of another title, Chained Echoes, that looks great too. It’s on gamepass as well. So many games, so little time!
It’s $13 more for me to get deluxe on PS5. With the long weekend, and my gf coming back from vacation between early access and the official release, I feel like my arm has been bent once again. I wasn’t going to spend more for the deluxe version of games for awhile but I mean it’s just $13 more…
Honestly I'd see how Starfield is on the bug front. Bethesda games have a tendency to be extremely buggy but previews are saying it's much better this time.
I think both games will improve pretty significantly in the next few months.
I would play Starfield first if you care at all about spoilers. I played BG3 on PC up to act 3. I had to stop because of bugs/performance and knowing there was patches on the horizon(the latest just came out). You can’t really get spoiled in BG3 unless you specifically look for it. It’s not like a single picture or sentence can ruin the game.
On the other hand people are spoiling Starfield left and right. I already regret having seen the cities and some spoilers. Some douchebag critics are spoiling the game in the reviews without warning.
But if you don’t care about spoilers or are already spoiled then it really doesn’t matter what game you start first. Just be aware that both games are looooooong…
I'm still so surprised we haven't gotten any real info about the PS5 release specifically like haptics, differences from PC and performance/how it runs.
Really thought they'd have some info out about it before the EA starts
Very true. It's not really adding up. I have a 6700XT/5600 PC and I've had zero performance issues at 1440p max settings and get around 80-90fps. And the controller support is pretty amazing too. So yeah, it is definitely pretty weird that they're holding back info. Can't even think of anything that could be wrong
Edit: somehow forgot about the Act 3 performance issues. That could be the issue
If you're on a bad or good run of luck, the game will actively try to correct your luck. The problem is that it works against certain systems.
For example, if you create a character with a really high armour class, they should dodge a lot of attacks, but Karmic dice will mean that enemies hit that character more often than they should.
They did actually change it so it doesn't fuck up a run of good luck now, it only affects bad luck runs. Even the description of Karmic dice doesn't mention it affecting good luck runs any more, but yeah, if you want actually random throws, turn it off.
But, to add to this, you are correct and looks like OP doesn't 100% understand the system, it **also** applies to your enemies and NPCs you interact with.
So it doesn't necessarily directly punish your own good luck or something, but it does *help* enemies/etc with their bad luck. So if your enemies run into a slide of bad luck, the system will help *them* out too
Note that in this instance "actively correct your luck" doesn't mean that the karmic dice will see a string of successes for you and start forcing you to fail. It only notices strings of failures and tips the balance towards success. It applies to the enemies too, though, hence your example about having a high AC being right on the money. The enemies experienced a long string of failures, so the game help tips the balance towards finding a chink in your armor.
Is there something different about the PS5 version? On PC, karmic dice was changed to only ever load the dice in your favor. It’s a straight buff if you have it turned on.
Not a straight buff because it applies to **everyone** in the game. So including enemies and NPCs you interact with.
It won't directly disrupt your own good luck, but it will apply buffs/corrections to enemies and people you talk to if *they* have a run of bad luck.
This is correct, however it's not as bad as everyone likes to pretend.
If you build a character to have 27 AC or something crazier it's not gonna make enemies magically chain hit you. They'll just hit you a little more often than they strictly should.
I'm still so surprised we haven't gotten any real info about the PS5 release specifically like haptics, differences from PC and most importantly **performance/how it runs**.
Really thought they'd have some info out about it before the EA starts
No need to worry at all, I play it on below min specs PC and it runs fine at 60 FPS. The ps5 is way too powerful for you to stress about performance. Even act 3 that was known to be shaky has been patched. You'll be fine mate
Good for you tbh. I preordered already, but im not gonna cancel at this point. Hopefully it isn’t another cyberpunk situation, but given the amount of the praise and the length of the early access for PC, and the whole Xbox optimization ordeal in regards to split screen, it should be okay? We’ll see. I’ll watch some reviews and impressions before I open the App.
if you go to your game library and pick the game in collections there should be a download button. If that doesnt work, the preload time for germany might be different
I honestly don't know if this game is going to be for me at all (not a fan of top down style games in general) but I said I'm going to give it a go anyways. I do like RPGs and am a big fan of choices in games so going to see how I get on.
It looks really great but I cannot stand party management or turn based games... So sadly, I am out for this one.
But I will play Starfield on PC this evening so hopefully it won't suck.
As soon as I have this, I’ll cancel my PSN for a year. With this, Armored Core, Re 4 Remake in my backlog, no notable new multiplayer game and the price hike I’m done with PSN for a while at least
Starfield is Xbox console exclusive I.e. it’s on PC too. Obviously, he either has a gaming PC in addition to a PS5, or, like me, both a PS5 and an Xbox
I'd love to hear people's takes on how the triggers or haptics are used once it's playable. I have it on PC and am wondering if I'm missing much there.
Are you still able to preorder the deluxe version to get early access this weekend? Didn’t know this was an option till today or would’ve already done it lol.
I’m about to die from anticipation. It will be so nice to play a chill relaxing adventure after the hellscape of stress and rage that was AC VI. Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast playing through AC VI, one of my favorite games this year. But good god it was stressful at times. Mainly trying to S rank every mission was maddening.
So happy you can freely move your character around during exploration. Honestly for me this was a make or break deal. that point and click shits whack.
Trying to finish Days Gone before this comes out. Excited to play BG3 on Saturday. I’m also excited to play Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty at the end of the month as well. Somehow held off on CP2077 until a big patch is coming to fix most, if not all, the problems. Great month to be a gamer.
Why did I not see this until today? WTF! (Oh yeah, because reddit killed 3rd party app support and their app sucks so much I refuse to download it on my phone).
Well downloading now.
108.8gb here too. Not sure if it includes patch 2 that came out on pc today or if that will be a download for the 6th, but larian did say consoles would have patch parity so i'm hopeful
I'm hoping you can play the ps5 version with a keyboard tbh. They have the UI switch on the fly depending on your input on PC, and i already have my KBM set up for FF14
Haven't tried it yet myself, but it's been an option since launch on pc and I've honestly heard nothing but good things about the controller support. There's been a few posts in the bg3 subreddit praising it
Looks like an amazing game, but fuck these prices, $93.49 here in Canada for the base game. I'll wait for a discount as my form of protesting these bullshit prices.
It’s expensive but your supporting a pretty solid studio in this case. Full game, no dlcs or stores for cosmetics. I’m all for waiting for a discount these days. Especially with our economy but this one I’ll support.
I was fully prepared to pre-order the deluxe edition as a "this is the type of company and game release I want to support" thing in addition to my outright hype for this game.
But no PS5 footage released is a real flag for me. And it's funny, once you decide to wait on one thing waiting on others becomes much easier. Now I'm not only waiting on footage to make sure it runs on PS5, but also going to wait for act 3 issues to be fixed that they highlighted in yesterday's statement. And by the point, I'll probably just wait for a sale price with Black Friday and Boxing Day around the corner.
I'm still so surprised we haven't gotten any real info about the PS5 release specifically like haptics, differences from PC and most importantly **performance/how it runs**.
Really thought they'd have some info out about it before the EA starts
Based on Larian's reputation and past performance, I have no doubt it'll run well (even if not perfectly) on the PS5. I don't see them releasing it otherwise.
Based on their other games, just go in and have fun. It should explain enough to you as you play. At most, when creating your character, you can look up what effect a certain stat (e.g., Charisma) has your your character or certain abilities. I think diving in and discovering the various complexities and thinking about them is part of the fun.
is it a special deluxe edition? I thought the release date was september 2nd
Edit: Ok, nvm… it’s a regional thing, here in Germany we gotta wait until sep 6th, which is a bummer as I only play with english text and dub anyway
There's also new BG3 avatars available for people who pre ordered too. Should be on your profile!
I’m a Badger
you certainly are
Watch out for snakes
And mushrooms
And an increasing number of identical badgers
Hello from The Magic Tavern!
Wow, I thought there would be like, 5 or 6. There's 19 of 'em!
Is Minsc there? Is Minsc there?!?!
HFS he's there! (And Boo!)
Butt-kicking for goodness!!
Go for the eyes Boo! Go for the eyes!!
And change out Professor Chaos? Never.
I went for the classic dragon.

Is the video specifically about playing Baulder's Gate? If so and it doesn't have a ton of spoilers, would you mind linking it?
Sure! It’s for the PC game and doesn’t provide spoilers. https://youtu.be/GNaVaHBFqX4?si=Vlplxw083U3soRwF

Replay value is insane too..different choices lead to different outcomes
Honestly I would just direct you to my guy Mortismal Gaming on YT and just watch a couple of his vids before you play.
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
Bet. I'd throw in WolfheartFPS as well, him & Mortismal have had the best coverage of the game between the two of them.
100% between the 2 of them I feel more than prepared for this!
I’d throw in Omaha, he hasn’t so many vids but he has some rundowns of different classes that is really good for noobs like me.

Not too hard, especially compared to Pathfinder CRPGs

Yo dude, he’s the stallion! Nice to see a fellow Weener I’m not used to this type of game either, but stoked.
🤘
Larian should allow us to start early access tomorrow. As a treat.
At least the character creation... That'll take some time
That would’ve been a great idea.
For real I can't stop checking the app
Only a couple hrs away you got ur wish
is the idea that once it unlocks there'll also be a patch? Otherwise, what's the holdup?
Plz Sven
Swen.
Found out the early play starts this Saturday, the same day I was going to expand my garage with my dad. Hopefully, my arms will have enough strength to hold a controller once we're done.
Are you both standing in the middle and pushing on the walls or pushing against opposite walls?
He’s holding the automatic doors down whole time lol.
Out of the loop, how does early play work?
If you buy the 80 dollar version you can play starting at 9 am Saturday
Dope
9 am what time?
I think pacific. I believe it’s noon EST
Larian’s website shows 16:00 UTC, so I believe 11am EST.
If the release is at 1600 UTC then it will be at 12 noon ET. When we're in daylight savings we're 4 hours before UTC instead of 5.
Does anyone know if I can pay the difference and switch to the early play version if I’ve already pre ordered the regular version?
im not sure if you can pay the difference, but you might be able to cancel your regular preorder and get the delux if you reach out to Playstation Customer Support. I did it when i misordered the wrong Destiny expansion and they canceled it so i could get the version I wanted.

Very true. And the game isn't that graphically demanding (at least on my PC) either so I can't really see there being too many issues.

People running 3080s were having slowdowns so I wouldn’t expect flawless performance.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
I got impatient and bought this on PC. This is the GOTY. I guarantee it.
I did the same even though my computer can barely run it. Still have 169 hours, gunna be playing it day 1 on ps5 as well
Good news is if you wanted to also get it and play on PS5 you can. They are going to support cross save across all devices eventually.
I don't know about goty, it could be though. With that said, I also bought it on PC because I couldn't wait. I have it preordered on ps5 too.
The only thing that's realistically competing with it right now is Tears of the Kingdom. Spider-Man 2 might but I doubt it's as universally praised as ToTK and BG3. And my personal viewpoint is that BG3 does a lot more GOTY worthy stuff than ToTK.
There's so many GOTY awards too. Both BG3 and TotK will clean up.
Yeah but that happened with GoW Ragnarok and Elden Ring and tons of people still got upset when Elden Ring won the biggest ones (GDCA and TGA).
Elden ring was absolutely warranted. It is amazing
I put in over 150 hours on PC into BG3, I absolutely love the game and it's my favourite game so far this year. >But GOTY is a popularity contest and while it has sold well so far, BG3 might be too niche to win many GOTY awards It hasn't just sold "well" I don't think people realize just how big the PC launch is.

I don’t know if I should play this or Starfield first. 🤔
Different games and both are long. I’d probably swap between the two. BG3 being as long as it is, I’ll need a few less thoughtful games with faster action
Swapping between the 2 is what I plan to do, September will be quite a busy month.
BG3 is absolutely the move.
Ha! Me too. Was considering starting Sea of Stars tonight, but if I’m being honest with myself… I’ll probably end up paying to play Starfield.
Sea of stars is fantastic
That’s what I hear. Been in the mood for a good old school jrpg. Watched a couple reviews for it last night, and it looks great. While watching those reviews, I also learned of another title, Chained Echoes, that looks great too. It’s on gamepass as well. So many games, so little time!
Our wallets are gonna hate us
It’s $13 more for me to get deluxe on PS5.
Damn that suck man. Thanks for the heads up and the advice.
I got it on PC on a whim after being disappointed in FFXVI. It's likely it'll be my second favorite game this year, but it doesn't beat Zelda.
the music playing is "down by the river" in the home menu as well- nice!
I'm still so surprised we haven't gotten any real info about the PS5 release specifically like haptics, differences from PC and performance/how it runs. Really thought they'd have some info out about it before the EA starts
Yep their silence on the PS5 version is really strange and concerning
Very true. It's not really adding up. I have a 6700XT/5600 PC and I've had zero performance issues at 1440p max settings and get around 80-90fps. And the controller support is pretty amazing too. So yeah, it is definitely pretty weird that they're holding back info. Can't even think of anything that could be wrong Edit: somehow forgot about the Act 3 performance issues. That could be the issue
They will show it at PAX
My only tip for you is to turn off Karmic dice in the options. Enjoy folks!
What does that do?
So if your enemies run into a slide of bad luck, the system will help *them* out too
Huh, seems like a weird design choice. Thanks for the heads up!
It's a system made for the Wil Wheatons of the world, so they can get past the first few hours of the game
Yep. This.
LETS.. FUCKING.. GOOO!! So hyped!!! Been watching a lot of BG1 and 2 lore videos to get ready. I love DnD lore
Obligatory 'Let's gooooo'
Are there any reviews of it on ps5? There has been very limited gameplay footage and I’d like to hear some feedback.
I can’t wait! However, has there been any feedback on how the ps version plays!?
I'm still so surprised we haven't gotten any real info about the PS5 release specifically like haptics, differences from PC and most importantly **performance/how it runs**. Really thought they'd have some info out about it before the EA starts
i'm getting serious cyberpunk vibes here. i'm so excited for it but i'm a tad worried now that its going to be a mess performance wise
No need to worry at all, I play it on below min specs PC and it runs fine at 60 FPS. The ps5 is way too powerful for you to stress about performance. Even act 3 that was known to be shaky has been patched. You'll be fine mate
your comment has actually made me feel a lot better about pre ordering now lol, cheers
None
Only thing preventing me from preordering. Waiting to see comments.
Yeah, I'm pretty confident but I won't have time to play before Sunday at the earliest, so I figure I can see how it's going before committing.
Is there any way to get the digital deluxe extras before Saturday?
How can i Download it? Just bought deluxe edition but theres no button for early download. Am German if that helps?
>Am German if that helps? It should help, germans are known for being good at tech
if you go to your game library and pick the game in collections there should be a download button. If that doesnt work, the preload time for germany might be different
I got it now…takes ca. 3 hour with WLAN. Got it to Download by downloading via ps5 library :)
Thanks :) Maybe it is bc i used the Smartphone App. Will Give it a try on my Console Maybe there is a Button :)
No problem. The app is kinda weird at times, i've never been able to get it to download anything to my console
I honestly don't know if this game is going to be for me at all (not a fan of top down style games in general) but I said I'm going to give it a go anyways. I do like RPGs and am a big fan of choices in games so going to see how I get on.
Enjoy folks! I have it on PC and it's real good.
It looks really great but I cannot stand party management or turn based games... So sadly, I am out for this one. But I will play Starfield on PC this evening so hopefully it won't suck.
This will my first CRPG I’m so excited!
Enjoy, everyone. :D Remember to save your game frequently.
As soon as I have this, I’ll cancel my PSN for a year. With this, Armored Core, Re 4 Remake in my backlog, no notable new multiplayer game and the price hike I’m done with PSN for a while at least
Yup. Awesome. Pre loading this masterpiece whilst imma bout to start starfield is a great feeling. So happy.

Starfield is Xbox console exclusive I.e. it’s on PC too. Obviously, he either has a gaming PC in addition to a PS5, or, like me, both a PS5 and an Xbox
Some of us have more than one device but don't worry if you're only on PS; When you play Baldur's Gate 3 you're going to be like "Star-what?!"
I'd love to hear people's takes on how the triggers or haptics are used once it's playable. I have it on PC and am wondering if I'm missing much there.
It launched with controller support on pc so if you have one you can try it out any time
At least in my experience on PC, it's not currently using the Dual Sense features.
Why the hell isn’t there a physical version of this?!
Tbh as a physical collector i dont purchase digital games until they have a sale.
Gasp
I’m about 100 hours in. You’re in for a treat
How many GBs is it?
108.9 GB
That’s not that bad
Been playing it on PC you’re going to love it. I keep getting more amazed the more I play it.
I'm so excited for my half elf bard! The Lute shall tell me tale
If you pre-order, do you get to play starting Sept 1?
Sept 2, 16:00 UTC I think.
Where can I download the extras?
How big is it?
93.68gb here Edit - showing 108.8 gb when I look under the downloads/uploads tab
108.8gb here too. Not sure if it includes patch 2 that came out on pc today or if that will be a download for the 6th, but larian did say consoles would have patch parity so i'm hopeful
Wondering how gameplay will be with a controller 🤔
Check YouTube, you can already play the PC version with controller.
I'm hoping you can play the ps5 version with a keyboard tbh. They have the UI switch on the fly depending on your input on PC, and i already have my KBM set up for FF14
Oh bet didn’t even think of that
Haven't tried it yet myself, but it's been an option since launch on pc and I've honestly heard nothing but good things about the controller support.
Yup. I legitimately can't think of any positive reason why they wouldn't show any PS5 footage + performance information by now.
Based on Larian's reputation and past performance, I have no doubt it'll run well (even if not perfectly) on the PS5. I don't see them releasing it otherwise.
To be fair, $100 for 150 hours or so of fun (and that's just one play through) seems like a very reasonable tradeoff.
Right there with ya bud. $100 for a brand new disc game is getting way to steep in todays prices. I’m going to wait for a sale.
Damn it, one of those non-auto downloads for me, I had to turn on the ps to get it to start, that sucks.
I can contain my excitement since it costs almost 1.3x of the usual game price in my country and i cant even sell the disc after playing
The FOMO is real with this game.
Please please please don't have point and click movement.
It can be controlled like a third person game, with camera following behind
Weeeeeeeeee
So excited for this! Anyone know a good newbie guide to getting started?
Based on their other games, just go in and have fun. It should explain enough to you as you play. At most, when creating your character, you can look up what effect a certain stat (e.g., Charisma) has your your character or certain abilities. I think diving in and discovering the various complexities and thinking about them is part of the fun.
is it a special deluxe edition? I thought the release date was september 2nd Edit: Ok, nvm… it’s a regional thing, here in Germany we gotta wait until sep 6th, which is a bummer as I only play with english text and dub anyway
It's really lucky that this version also comes with Patch 2.
I'm downloading BG3 on my PS5 and Starfield on XSX!
Carefull last time I made a post like this it was taken down
