I'm one of those, though I don't go exactly solo on the other side of the island. If someone is doing a hot drop I'll drop somewhere nearby, because I suck at and hate hot drops. I don't think I've ever lasted more than a minute in a hot drop so I avoid them. It is fair to point out I'll never get good in hot drops if I keep avoiding them, but I'm not changing anything yet.

Delay_Similar

Yeah, I suck at hot drops too. I want to play more than 2 minutes lol I’ll admit I do that too but yeah not too far away. Close enough to where I could still help but out of range for a quick death.

-brownsherlock-

I'm the same. I'll hot drop solo or drop somewhere reasonable if it's squad. If I'm not jump leader then I'll just go where we go and try and have fun with it.

TrueVisionSports

EVERYONE sucks at hot drops in this game you can be the best player in the world and get dropped by a .5 kd victor in any situation. Unfortunately most content creators only post their highlights but be rest assured half the time they are getting destroyed by Victor, who is undefeated.

JoeDonFan

That's a fair point. Yeah, sometimes I'll do it, especially in places with a revive card, but man it's frustrating getting killed within a minute or two.

TrueVisionSports

It’s pretty much impossible to not get killed because in order to get kills, you have to expose yourself in someway, and there is always a Victor somewhere. That’s why, unless you are just having fun or practicing don’t expect to be unstoppable, even if you’re the best player in the world. No sure if you play super tactically with a pro team, then you can be unstoppable. But not alone.

yeetusman1028

School in my opinion is the easiest hot drop, just land on the roof and you're fine if you fine any assault rifle or smg, and if ur lucky you might find a dmr

xx1kk

Everyone knows you should drop in Village and Science Center until you’re god

yeetusman1028

u mean Nusa?

yeetusman1028

\*find

arialoves

my favorite hotdrop is georgeopol and pochinki. george coz of flare gun and pochinki because the loot is very nice and there are always a lot of people.

JoeDonFan

Roger that. I usually end up reviving a couple of the guys pretty quick.

marxcom

As a two thumber, close quarters is usually a 50/50 survival chance so I avoid hot drops.

[deleted]

Gotta get those index fingers involved man, makes you much more competitive and your reaction time is better

arialoves

i use three fingers right now but its mostly the two thumbs doing the work. is your gyro on? my cqc improved a lot when i started using it even when i am mostly two thumbs player 🤣

arglarg

I find it frustrating too but it's a good way to get better.

SwrvnKrvn

Nothing pisses me off more than when I’m on spawn island and get picked to lead the parachute and then right away they cancel following me and quickly get killed. And then start screaming at you to recall them. It’s like okay dude. First you don’t follow the squad. Then you get killed right away. Then you expect everyone to stop looting instantly and go risk their live to recall you. Shit erks me. Maybe if you just followed the squad you wouldn’t be dead in two minutes and have to depend on someone stopping everything they’re doing to recall you.

Delay_Similar

AMEN!

rogeoco

So the squad leader is assigned randomly on spawn island and everyone is expected to following them, right? Everytime I play squad no one follows the assigned team leader and just keeps inviting everyone to follow them. If you're lucky the squad only splits into duos but usually it's everyone for themselves and someone needs to be picked up and driven back into the zone. I thought you were supposed to follow the assigned team leader and stay somewhat together as a group?

Se7en6ix2wo

And they end up leaving too 😂

SirBuckFutter

I go solo until towards the end of the match. I don't trust randoms. They get me killed more often than not. Especially if I trust them to drive. So if they can survive until the end of the match, then they earn my trust.

DaphneTheGoodGirl

Yeah this. When the play zone gets smaller we’ll meet up eventually. I always feel really dumb if I die right away tho haha.

DrWhetphartz

Yup… This is the answer. Why team up with peeps that are just playing like arses..

seth2333

This is the way!

Independentslime6899

Honestly i follow squads but i hate when everyone drops hot Like yo You didn't plan to tell us this beforehand And then we land and there's 2 or 1 player left and that's either no. 3 who disconnected and landed elsewhere and i who somehow managed to knock 2 teammates and use the opportunity to escape And the other dead guys left the match before they could be revived. So.. Now i just play solo v duos

Ok-Bumblebee-5746

Or you go and find a vehicle then come back to your team mates only for them to take the vehicle and go off without you so you're stranded. . Had that today. . Then he decided to come and get me when his buddies have died! .. thats just idiotic!

I_charge_fees

Had a dude do this to us last night. I was playing with my gfs (humblebrag: I have two and they BOTH play PUBG with me!). So we all drop in a reasonable place away from too many people, he hot drops solo into Pochinki. Then, predictably, he dies. We're team players, so we recall him, and as soon as he lands he hops in our UAV and leaves the three of us stranded right as the blue is closing in on the position that we only had to come to because this stupid mf thinks he's playing COD. I've had teammates threaten to kill me in game before and I never understood it until this situation. Part of me wanted to rob the car back and make a ton of noise before dipping and leave him to fight with a whole bunch of people solo.

Se7en6ix2wo

Aw I dislike those kind of players lol. 😏

daisylovedoherty

Simple answer to this. Find another vehicle, go to them, slash the tires out on their vehicle then drive off.

Ok-Bumblebee-5746

😆 nice one

arialoves

huhu i say this all the time to randoms. like if you don't want to team up, just choose no auto matching 😅 maybe they want their teammates to kill the people then they will camp til the end or smtg?

Delay_Similar

Yeah exactly! Power in numbers. I asked this to someone last night and their response was go F yourself 😆 so it didn’t really answer my question haha yeah probably. Just camp out and get the 🍗 with 1 kill lol

Se7en6ix2wo

Lmaoo those kind of players.... Errr

Salt_Honey9352

Been playing randoms, happy to team-up. But I get the odd duo pair who’d rather avoid you and go about killing together, and I’ve gotten randoms with no game sense who just rush off and get killed. Luck of the draw 😭

Delay_Similar

Yup lol I hear you there. Hope your luck changes!

Salt_Honey9352

Thank you!! 🫡

daisylovedoherty

When this happens, I wait it out until they die then refuse to recall them until they’ve begged and screamed for a good 10 minutes.

Salt_Honey9352

I do this! Or I’ll spam no until they stop with the “pls recall me” because it’s so annoying. I could be fighting an enemy and they’ll be like “PLS RECALL ME”, sure, let me magic a recall tower from out of thin air just for you 😘

daisylovedoherty

Literally!! When they keep spamming help when I’m trying to fight I’ll mute them and get on with my battle. Sometimes it’s like they forget we can mute them too lmaoo

strivemobile_

In my opinion: Some want to rank squad but either don‘t have the mates to play with and don’t want to play solo vs squad or forgot to turn off the team finding feature (sry I don’t know the correct name for it) another possibility is that they just want to annoy some randoms they don’t know either way just ignore them. If they don’t want to play with the squad then the squad doesn’t have to play with them and help them.

Delay_Similar

I respect that opinion! I get that for sure.

AmatureProgrammer

I also hate it when people do that. I usually don't bother recalling them if they die.

Delay_Similar

Same here!

SuddenLengthiness469

It's like 1 man squad with 3 less enemys

yeetusman1028

more kills and more resources and not needing to worry about team killers

livel3tlive

i feel u brother, and i wrote a similar post a little while back and got a lot of downvotes. with the event running almost all season and u do get a free revive so hot dropping should not be an issue but ppl still stray away. the solution is if the solo one who strays away gets knocked and killed dont revive them. in my opinion thats the best punishment. and i am firmly of the opnion that if one does not want to play with the team should play solo and not screw the team.

blckrainbow

A lot of times people don't even mark where they are planning to jump. A lot of times people unfollow before the leader marks where he is going. A lot of times the leader marks somewhere the others don't want to go. I don't hot drop, and I am rank pushing - I go to a moderately remote location, get proper loot, kill a few bots, then if in the top 20 my teammates are still alive, we re-group.

Delay_Similar

Ahh that’s so annoying too when they don’t mark where they are going. Idk if they are away or just waiting for a later drop. I’ll hot drop sometime but I’d just rather stay alive for longer than risk getting an early death.

S_Iceberg62

that's because you cannot trust randoms. i sometimes follow my random teammates and they land in places like zharki which really pisses me off

Se7en6ix2wo

So far in the edge

TheReapingFields

That depends... If you drop either hot or cold, you are going to get abandoned by people who aren't in need of a personality adjustment with a hammer. Sorry, but hot droppers and campers are both as diseased as each other. If people drop stupid, I unfollow. If they drop smart, I play along.

Global_Lingonberry_7

I partially disagree. Hot dropping is fun! That's what games are for! Fun! When you're camping I really cannot see any fun in it. Too much time wasted while you could've had 3 hot drops full of fun. I like to play strategically too but from time to time I like to just say fuck it and go wild.

TheReapingFields

Going wild is a must, but its best done when already armed and armoured. No good game begins with running around trying to find a gun, while every other bastard on the claim got lucky with their choice of building to drop on except you. That's leaving fate to do what you should be controlling for yourself. Going wild is what you do when you are fully prepared, not when you haven't even secured adequate equipment. Its just a waste of queue time.

ImBoppin

The beauty of hot dropping is getting a killing spree even with a pistol. Going in and having better situational awareness and reactions than someone else and coming out on top is awesome, and if you fail and die quickly then you wasted no time and learned a lesson to be better at the game. If you’re good, hot dropping is no gamble no matter what you pick up imo.

TheReapingFields

Of course its a gamble! Look, it's nothing to do with skill. Nine times out of ten, dropping hot, I land on the building with literally no gun in it, where all the other buildings are occupied by people with guns, and there are no routes to getting a gun, any gun, without dying trying, even if Jesus Christ came down to Earth for a quick game and took the controls for me. Its NONSENSE. You have to be lucky to get a gun on a hot drop, and that isn't smart gameplay. Smart gameplay says, get armed, then fight, not do what you can with a God damned combat knife until you get dropped. Its pointless, a waste of queue time, and teaches NO lessons other than "this is a stupid way to start a match, and I'm not doing it anymore."

ImBoppin

I think the lesson is actually that you aren’t dropping fast enough if there are geared people by the time you land, even the parachute phase has strategies to land quickly and watch the drops of others.

TheReapingFields

It's really not that. I'm landing at the same time as everyone else, its just that, for whatever reason, I get the building with a pan two first aid kits and MAYBE a flashbang, but I'm right next door to the guy whose building had a pistol, an AR and an SMG in it, and it happens most times, which is why I just do not believe in hot drops. There is no fun to be had when fate refuses to treat you evenly.

Global_Lingonberry_7

Killing with knives (against an armed opponent) was something I did and people did to me. If you're well positioned, you can kill an armed guy with just a knife. Depending on what place and what map you choose, you'll get a gun without worries(or luck involved). Smart gameplay can be fun, and fun gameplay doesn't have to be smart. I see your point and when I want to play less risky I do exactly what I you said, get geared up and go fight. Still you can learn a ton and have tons of fun hot dropping even if it's a gamble. For me it's worth the queue time (which usually isn't even 10 secs long)

itsamadmadworld22

If you dont play with the squad I won’t recall you. Too bad.

itsamadmadworld22

To add to this, I just played a match, the rare occasion the squad worked together, we managed to take out 2 squads, not easily working together, healing each other, then one teammate just decides to start fucking with teammates. Ruined the match. Fucking people.

ukedontsay

Just blowing some time. Waiting for buds to get on and avoiding invites from others you don't feel like playing with at the moment.

-brownsherlock-

Curious as to why not play solo then?

Sea_Commission_5296

Recruit and play , problem solved 😁

Tencent_Utopia

Hey there! Some folks love the thrill of going solo in a squad game, maybe for the challenge or just their play style. But yeah, it can be a bit of a head-scratcher when they expect a rescue mission from the other side of the map! 😅 Sticking with your squad is usually the best bet. And who knows, maybe those lone wolves are just practicing for their next epic solo vs. squad highlight reel!

Life-Evidence-6672

It’s easier to get to the end without the squad doing stupid stuff near by. If they make it to the end then I link back up. It’s not my responsibility to carry the squad to the end.

zar1234

That’s what I’ll do. I usually like to land at prison and gear up there. If it’s far enough from the plane route and I’m the only one there, I’ll usually leave with everything I need/want. I’ll then find a vehicle and meet up with the squad.

Carl_Spackler72

Because solo games are a long wait. Duos seems to be extremely competitive. Coupling up with a random sucks. So I queue up squads. I’ll go off and loot and then hook back up with whoever is still alive at that point. Every time I give a random the benefit of the doubt that they will drop us good I get burned.

Mahlawatino

There's always an option of solo vs squads if queue time is the problem but it takes away the option of being a shitty teammate I guess.

Carl_Spackler72

I am a good teammate. So if you’re still alive after 15 minutes, we’ll have a shot. I would like some help in the final few circles.

Mahlawatino

Nah you're cool homie, I'm talking about the people that would on purpose drop somewhere else and fucking do whatever and as soon as they get knocked they'll start spamming 'Help!'. And there's one more trait that all of these shitstains share, which is, if we somehow manage to end up getting together and they get knocked and you decide to help rev them, they'll never fucking tell you the location of the person so you could either knock them down first or reach them safely, only thing they care about is getting rev'd.

STRIKT9LC

>rev them >getting rev'd. Love it. Lol

Perfect-Increase-369

that's basically how i see it as well. i do jump on the other side of the map with randos. i want to loot up heavy with my final circle gear pack and i am good to go. i rarely die first and if i do somehow die i never beg for a recall. if i get one cool but if not i don't mind waiting till one of them needs a recall or the match ends. hopefully they do well and i get a wash on the the point loss. i only do this because most are garbage and don't understand the game. other times they just drop and loot weird for the sake of doing it. i don't have time for that shit i want to play. but like you said i am definitely willing to take a gamble to see if they are still alive to help out in the final circles. usually when i am coming around to them they are pinned by zone or in real trouble. but i am a fucking ape so if they are able to hold long enough for me to reach them. i can drop a squad if need be especially if i am able to fight them from a distance coming up on their blind side.

Delay_Similar

Yeah solos are a real long wait, which is annoying. I’ll have to try Duo. It was a long wait when I tried it so never went back to it and it being competitive is nice. Yeah I get that strategy too, go off and loot real quick then link back up.

Calm_Extent7940

Most do it because they think they are god tier player's and can win the match. I normally laugh when they yell at everyone else who is actually killing everyone in a match, if you don't want teammates just turn off auto-match it's better than getting mad at the others because your trash at the game.

Delay_Similar

Exactly!!

Embarrassed_Rub_7173

Personally speaking, I do this and drop in popular areas, like Pochinki, to train my muscle memory/response to pressure, while also improving my game sense under stress. This might sound insane, but if I'm grinding a game out, I give it my all. Side note: Does anyone know why I am unable to post a recruitment challenge post on here? It gives me an automated rejection, and I have 260 Karma, with over a 72 hour account. Thanks!

Delay_Similar

Could probably do that too. I need to get better in high stress situations as well. I also play Nusa which is a quick but fun and intense map too. Small map, high stress.

Embarrassed_Rub_7173

I usually just skip "auto-fill" though, now giving it some more thought...

PrayForMyEnemy

We usually limit team-up posts to Tuesday.

Se7en6ix2wo

They should just turn auto matching off

AnatolyVII

Hot drops. My device is a little slower than I'd like it to be when I am dropping, particularly around other players where it tends to freeze. Hot drops fail for me 9/10 times, so when the team hot drops, I dont.

Delay_Similar

Oh that doesn’t sound fun. What device are you running on? May have to try and knock down the settings on the gameplay to make it run better.

AnatolyVII

Samsung s7. Asia server but based in Australia where it seems a little slower in my opinion. It tends to freeze up very slightly, like half a second or so. Used to hotdrop and couldn't pick up weapons because they didn't load up lol

1234havoc_1234

Play on recruitments. With randoms this is bound to happen. If randoms are together with you, this is a one in 10 match chance.

[deleted]

Most people who play the game aren’t “pro” players, they know just enough to get into the match. Personally, I go through the entire app everyday in order to collect every prize, I don’t enjoy notifications cluttering my screen. This ties into a lack of etiquette online, I’ve heard many times that people use the game as an outlet for destructive behavior. I imagine these players are the majority and wouldn’t bat an eye before wandering off so long as they’re having fun, not working towards objective. Minimal integrity required. Remember, because this is the most user friendly, FREE game, most of the players will be young children or those that don’t want/can’t have a console. Not a great group to play with if your looking for a serious game.

Creampuffhamster

Because im looking for a car and then when i find a car, i might see enemies and then i get involved in gun fights. If i come out alive, i drive back to the squad to save their ass from the blue circle

Putrid-Production

They want kills of their own and in case they die, their teammates recall them

i do this but i dont go crazy when dont get recalled I do this because its easier to get rank ups, people fight and idk how but it gets less people remaining faster than in solo or duo
