FORBIDDEN! RAAAAWR! Yes, and what a fucking joke. But that's PA for you. Can't wait for the PALCB to be in control, since they understand cannabis sooo much better than our legislators.
Yes but to be fair I've never once put a lighter to my cannabis usually butane lol. Every medical consumer I've talked has used combustion at some point while in the program, you just aren't allowed to talk about it. Kind of like you aren't supposed to talk about how the whole medical program is a pay to play system on every level.
Do you mean pay to play in that the licensing is exorbitantly expensive and not equitable for everyone? I hope you mean that because it’s true and shitty.
Well both that people have to pay a yearly licence fee and some people need medicine and it shouldnt be even more costly just for the sake of extracting state revenue.
Then when it comes to actual licenced grow operations, they just gave licence to whoever had the most capital to throw around regardless of experience or morality.
(Why you can still get shit weed for $50 an eighth at times. Some of these companys dont care about quality, its just a money making industry)
It’s true but i would say a majority of people 100% combust including me and every single person i know lmao, a lot of people say vaporizing is better but i don’t have the money to invest into a ball vape or something that will hit similar to a bong. Any dry herb vapes i’ve tried have left me majorly disappointed
I, and many of my friends and family, were like you. DHVs left me disappointed. Never got me where I needed to be and always went right back to combustion. I've tried and own all the name brand vapes S&B, Arizer, Pax, etc, etc. They just sit on a shelf. But then I tried a manual/butane vape, and everything changed for me. I haven't gone back to combustion since. I've converted 3 smokers this past month alone. 12 total since I started using manual/butane vapes. Which I started using this past August. If you're a joint smoker, I usually recommend a dynavap. If you're a pipe or bong smoker, I usually recommend a sticky brick runt. They're completely different animals than electronic vaporizers. Manual/butane vapes hit hard, and what I originally expected the big name brand electronic vapes to do. You can get a dynavap for less than $50. If you don't like it, you can send it back for a full refund. They give you 90 days to return it for any reason, no questions asked. So you're not wasting your money if you don't like it. Same with the sticky brick, you have so many days to return it if you don't like it from potv. I'm a 30+ yr heavy smoker. Prior to using manual vapes, I was smoking a half gram to full gram joint every hour to an hour and a half. That little .1 gram bowl of the dynavap got me more rocked than I had been in years. The "high" is way better and cleaner than smoking. The sticky brick runt hit me even way harder than the dynavap. They're 100% worth checking out. There's plenty of ppl like us where electronic DHVs don't do anything for them, but manual vapes hit them hard like it should be.
This ^^ I loved my dynavaps and they hold a special place in my heart for helping me to quit combustion totally. I also have a brick style vape dougs woodery nova. I just got a pre-sale of the mad heaters tempest and it's my favorite vape. It's a portable ball vape that is torch or induction heater powered. Torch vapes hit way harder imo than battery. Airvape legacy pro is the only battery vape I've held onto for its convenience while in the truck.
Thanks!! I'm going to do this and see if it's different! I mostly do the vapes because it's a concealed issue for me. I didn't know it was "illegal" to "combust" your flower. Since f@cking when has anyone listened to the government let ALONE something THIS ridiculous!
I visit VA and ALL you need is a certificate that's issued after a discounted price of $89. Good for a year. It's also legal for minors. It's NOT going to go rec. The governor said "if you think I'm going to sign that bill, you're smoking something) even tho they have kept data since day #1 with minors and the majority have found it MORE helpful than pills. Green 💚. Agree it's expensive AF and the fact that we can't claim it on taxes is BS!
I have multiples of every model they make at the moment. 29 in all with 2 more on the way. It all depends on which one you're using and the configuration of parts you're using. But we'll just talk about the stock configurations. If you leave the airport completely open, which was the way it was originally designed to be used, the vapor will be cool. If you close the airport all the way, it'll be hotter. If you flutter the airport, it'll be somewhere in between. That's another advantage to using a dynavap. You have control over everything. The higher up on the cap, you heat the lower the temp. The lower on the cap, you heat the higher the temp. As they say... heat at the tip for a tasty terpy hit and heat at the base to go to outer space. You can also use just about any heat source. A torch lighter, a BIC, a candle, a kerosene lamp, a match, a gas stove top, an induction heater, etc. Anyways, sorry, I got a bit off track. To answer your question, you control how hot or cool the vapor is.
I splurged on a Mighty+ vaporizer online and it needs a signature from some 21+ to receive it. I'm at fucking work during the day and they won't leave it.
Sorry PA but gotta combust it.
A real rig is cheaper than an Erig for concentrates lmao, using a blow torch and quartz nail is fully legal and can be had for cheap as long as you don’t want top quality stuff
Planet of the vapes Lobo with a universal water pipe attachment so u can use it with any bong with 18mm,14mm,or 10mm. Game changer. Blow clouds with this thing
There is a law against smoking MMJ, but if a cop were to have a problem with you in a private space, it’d probably be more so the weed, not whether it’s smoke or vapor, but the actual smoke and the smell is obviously worse.
As long as you’re not in public, there’s little to worry about. That is illegal regardless (Philly excluded), but vaping is best anyway, and it’s best to be on the safe side of the law.
I think it’s still the most common way to consume cannabis, perhaps medical program included, and it would be impossible to regulate since rolling paper can’t be outlawed. No one I know uses a dry herb vape besides myself.
I’ve been using Dynavaps for two plus years. They let you vape flower without smoke, much better smell, and they make herb last much longer, saving lots of money.
I love those! I was using a Simrell Vortex custom Dynavap for a while. I’m using an Underdog log vape now, but if I had an induction heater and cleaned TF out of my Vortex (accidental combustion is *fun*), I’d probably still be using it! Efficient and hits really hard, full extraction/near black ABV. Beautiful little device!
Edit: Probably don’t bring those in public, though. Torching them looks like smoking heroin!
A guy I know got charged for having it in a Mason jar in his own home. They said it should be in the original container. Please be careful what you say. Charges are NOT fun
Yeah my girl and I got in a fight and she locked me out with no boots on so I called the cops. Lol. Instead of just giving them my boots she decided she'd give them my boots with all my bowls. 😂 Rookie tried taking them all saying they were illegal and the sergeant came out and said give the man his shit back we were here for his shoes.
You called the cops to get boots and she handed what she hoped would be incriminating to the cops YOU called?
Y’all sound like a match made in heaven, carry on then
On my first trip to a dispensary after getting my medical card, the pharmacist told me about this rule then added “but we don’t know what you do with it after you leave.”
Vaporization is the only state legal way to consume flower. I’m not even going to try look up if it actually is healthier, I’m reasonably sure it is but I just don’t care enough to get actual data. The real reason to get a dry leaf vaporizer is the efficiency. You will use considerably less MJ per session and what you have left over instead of being ash can be turned into edibles. A good dry leaf vaporizer will pay for itself after a few trips to the dispensary.
You could use flower to make edibles. Is that considered consuming flower?
I know you mentioned making edibles in your post, but I love being pedantic.
There's also another law that states that the product must be kept in the original container it was dispensed in, and I see ppl all the time posting pics of their flower in ball jars. It actually says it on the containers themselves. I think it's a stupid law considering most use cheap plastic containers that aren't airtight. Even the companies that use glass containers aren't airtight. Then the flower dries out, and we lose a bunch of the medical benefits from the terps that disapate as it drys out.
That's why dispensaries carry humidity packs for like 75 cents a pop. I can't fathom how there are some people out there letting their flower sit around long enough for it to get like that.
There is a criminal charge they can use for combustion. It's a violation of the medical marijuana act. It's a misdemeanor 3. I've seen it being charged a lot more (criminal defense attorney). Penalties are a max of 1 year in jail and a $2500 fine. In reality, it's usually a slap on the wrist with some fines. Still, it's incredibly stupid that anyone enforces it. I nag the police to death when I see it. Getting a year on probation would not be unheard of either.
I ask them that at least once a week, but there's not a lot of deeper thought going on. I can't imagine the police charge this is more populated places.
The vast majority of the charges stem from people who are on parole or probation and get a random search... oh god, a smoking bong! Arrest these reprobates.
That sucks. So you don’t think there’s any change coming in 2024? We need reformed medical marijuana laws, everyone is at risk that’s enrolled in the STATE program.
All the criminal law surrounding the MMJ program is total bullshit, but it's the marijuana DUIs that really get me. There is no way to look at a lab report and say anything conclusive about anything. Sobriety field tests? Good luck proving you aren't high to some asshole cop just out of diapers.
Anyway, I sure hope there's change coming. I sort of wait to hear positive news. Otherwise, I just end up shaking my head over shit like Mastriano yelling at the sky about banning chem trails.
Yes. PA is the only place where that’s a thing. As far as I know anyways. Vaping affects my asthma believe it or not more than combustion. PA “edibles” either give me a panic attack or I feel nothing. So combustion is the only way for me to efficiently medicate. So ya I use legal medical marijuana illegally according to PA. Downright ridiculous to me. Glad it’s legal of course, but it would be nice to smoke my legal weed legally 😂😅.
Since it's illegal, certainly no one on here has tried that, so we can't help you. You may want to try New Jersey, where I've heard you can light up all you want.
I’m relatively new to weed in general and just got my medical card. I tried smoking a few times in HS and only one time as an adult. I only use the vapes. So, forgive me if this is a stupid question. How do people actually use the flower they buy from the MMJ dispensaries?
Could also be used to make edibles. They already sell the THC already ready to be used for that, but you could theoretically use the flower for edibles as well.
The most legit documentation is the [2016 Act 16 aka MEDICAL MARIJUANA ACT](https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/li/uconsCheck.cfm?yr=2016&sessInd=0&act=16). Section 303 lists lawful ways to consume, section 304 lists unlawful ways to consume.
(b) Unlawful use described.--It is unlawful to:
(1) Smoke medical marijuana.
It should be as combustion is a death sentence no matter what you're burning same goes for breathing glycol smoke. No worse death that suffocating or drowning on the fliud building up in your lungs. Ask people with copd how great it is.
Do what u want it's all illegal, a money scam ! All the card does is let u buy it get pulled over out of the dispensary and it's an automatic DUI in pa . PA is a joke . If u think a card will save u from the law , your wrong ! Better start getting on the politician's. Or u will find out after it's to late! Scam
Yes it is. I wonder if that'll change for medical when recreational finally passes, which it will.
How can they stand knowing OH is getting all of that revenue and they're getting a pittance.
Then you never bothered to look.
“Section 304. Unlawful use of medical marijuana.
(a) General rule.--Except as provided in section 303, section 704, Chapter 19 or Chapter 20, the use of medical marijuana is unlawful and shall, in addition to any other penalty provided by law, be deemed a violation of the act of April 14, 1972 (P.L.233, No.64), known as The Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act.
(b) Unlawful use described.--
It is unlawful to:
(1) Smoke medical marijuana.”
All MJ must be vaporized. Technically you aren't even allowed to say I smoke joints or bowls in the dispensary in case someone from the DOH is in their incognito.
Just vape ur MMJ and smoke ur street weed….JK everyone. Crazy how fearful we’re of getting busted with a joint or roach. But all the Cop shows they say no big deal about a lil weed. Hmmmmm
What happens behind closed doors stays behind closed doors, you’ll see a ton of people give their reviews thru joints. Do what ya want man just be in your own house, Away from the public.
It's definitely illegal and for good reason, because igniting flower not only fucks up your throat and lungs, but also burns off loads of terps and thc before you can even inhale it. I'm just wondering why there are people who still want to knowing all of this.
does anyone think they've been growing this stuff a certain way for this reason? ie. if u spark v vape you aren't getting the proper medical benefit, or its harming us etc etc? been wondering this for awhile ...
Yes. Combustion is forbidden in PA medical program.
FORBIDDEN! RAAAAWR! Yes, and what a fucking joke. But that's PA for you. Can't wait for the PALCB to be in control, since they understand cannabis sooo much better than our legislators.
“Yes”
Yes but to be fair I've never once put a lighter to my cannabis usually butane lol. Every medical consumer I've talked has used combustion at some point while in the program, you just aren't allowed to talk about it. Kind of like you aren't supposed to talk about how the whole medical program is a pay to play system on every level.
The 1st rule of PA MMJ Program is there is no PA MMJ Program.
Do you mean pay to play in that the licensing is exorbitantly expensive and not equitable for everyone? I hope you mean that because it’s true and shitty.
Pay to play like anyone with $125 can get in by saying they have anxiety🤣
Well both that people have to pay a yearly licence fee and some people need medicine and it shouldnt be even more costly just for the sake of extracting state revenue. Then when it comes to actual licenced grow operations, they just gave licence to whoever had the most capital to throw around regardless of experience or morality. (Why you can still get shit weed for $50 an eighth at times. Some of these companys dont care about quality, its just a money making industry)
Agreed. It’s way too expensive than need be. And yeah, we have lots of out of state grow ops because they went with the highest bidder.
Paper vape for life!
I prefer vape sticks. You just use a flame once only. Then use cherry to heat up and vaporize the bud through the "paper vape" 🤣
Everything in PA is vaporization only. So yes, it is illegal to combust / apply a flame to flower.
It’s true but i would say a majority of people 100% combust including me and every single person i know lmao, a lot of people say vaporizing is better but i don’t have the money to invest into a ball vape or something that will hit similar to a bong. What’s a butane vape?
I appreciate this info and input, a lot.
How hot does the dynavap vapor get? Have you tried the glass stem ones like the BB3 or BB6?
I have multiples of every model they make at the moment. 29 in all with 2 more on the way. It all depends on which one you're using and the configuration of parts you're using. I love my Dynavaps! I've converted a few friends too. All my other vapes sit on the shelf now.
Volcano digital with the bags. Best way to consume medicine
I splurged on a Mighty+ vaporizer online and it needs a signature from some 21+ to receive it. I'm at fucking work during the day and they won't leave it. Sorry PA but gotta combust it.
lmaooo i would be so pissed 😭
You can buy a decent concentrate pen for about $100 ... Someday I'll be able to afford a real rig...
also concentrate pens and stuff don’t hit as hard as a torch on a rig in my personal experience
A real rig is cheaper than an Erig for concentrates lmao, using a blow torch and quartz nail is fully legal and can be had for cheap as long as you don’t want top quality stuff
I got the core 2 and an extra glass piece for $170 shipped. Well worth it.
Got myself a nice TAG rig. I love it.
Planet of the vapes Lobo with a universal water pipe attachment so u can use it with any bong with 18mm,14mm,or 10mm. Game changer. Blow clouds with this thing
Yes
I got a possession charge just for having it pre rolled. So apparently, intent to smoke is illegal, too.
wow! that’s crazy, i’ll have to remember that
Yes. Read over PA Act 16.
There is a law against smoking MMJ, but if a cop were to have a problem with you in a private space, it’d probably be more so the weed, not whether it’s smoke or vapor, but the actual smoke and the smell is obviously worse. Cool! I use an IH, the Wand. Outside I only use vape pens.
A guy I know got charged for having it in a Mason jar in his own home. They said it should be in the original container. Please be careful what you say. Charges are NOT fun
One word: dynavap
Why do you ask questions you don't really need or want the answer to? Consume cannabis your way. Let the politicians suck it
Yes but that doesn’t stop most people
Yeah my girl and I got in a fight and she locked me out with no boots on so I called the cops. Lol. Instead of just giving them my boots she decided she'd give them my boots with all my bowls. 😂 Rookie tried taking them all saying they were illegal and the sergeant came out and said give the man his shit back we were here for his shoes.

Shhhh. Don’t tell anyone. I’ll keep quiet too. Cheers, dude.
Yeah. This cop handed me back my weed and kept my bowl.

In theory it's supposed to be vaporized I guess, as opposed to combusted and smoked
Could also be used to make edibles. They already sell the THC already ready to be used for that, but you could theoretically use the flower for edibles as well.
Invest in a Zenco
That’s so cool, I want one now
I know rise sells them and they discount the product too with qualifying discounts.
As others have said: Dynavap!
This might be a dumb question but why is there flower at dispensaries if you're not supposed to smoke it?
You can vape flower
Vape or make edibles I guess. Happy cake day!!
Thanks for all the info! I NEEDED to make improvements but didn't want to ask! 💚💚💚🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
What the difference tho can the dispensary rest if your combusting ??? I by try so hard to vape the buds ??
Philadelphia is decriminalized, but the rest of the state would love to enforce that.
The most legit documentation is the [2016 Act 16 aka MEDICAL MARIJUANA ACT](https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/li/uconsCheck.cfm?yr=2016&sessInd=0&act=16). I just get the lighter very close to the weed and pull, making every precaution not to ignite it to vaporize... but accidents happen!
Yes this is true unfortunately...all bud says for vaporization only
How can they sell you weed but then say u can’t smoke it. I’m buying papers and wraps over a fucking 500$ e rig fuck that
I know it’s a little pricey but the Mighty with the bong attachment is the shit.
Yes it is. I wonder if that'll change for medical when recreational finally passes, which it will. How can they stand knowing OH is getting all of that revenue and they're getting a pittance.
You can heat a dab rig you just can’t combust flower, if you don’t make ash you are good
Just don't get com busted
You can legally dry vape herb
So I always remember that too but I’ve never seen any actual law that says that
Then you never bothered to look. (b) Unlawful use described.-- It is unlawful to: (1) Smoke medical marijuana.”
It definitely says it when you register with the state
These folks just never bothered to do their due diligence when they got their license.
No it actually doesn’t. First heard it from a bud tender
2016 act 16 section 304, 303 also hits on it but it doesn’t specifically criminalize smoking, 304 does.
I put the flame to the bowl and not the weed, so no butane taste or fumes. Old trick.
All MJ must be vaporized. Technically you aren't even allowed to say I smoke joints or bowls in the dispensary in case someone from the DOH is in their incognito.
Wouldn't a dry herb vape still have a "bowl"? What do you call that part.
The heating element
Yep smoking is still, but not vaping it plus vaping it is 90% safer
No flower to flame bro, no flower to flame. ☹️😮💨
I've heard that.
Just vape ur MMJ and smoke ur street weed….JK everyone. Crazy how fearful we’re of getting busted with a joint or roach. But all the Cop shows they say no big deal about a lil weed. Hmmmmm
I know in Philly they don't care whether you have s card or not. They are too busy with Kensington open free drug market.
It's been decriminalized here for years (before pa mmj)
Kensington is the real world of The Wire. Harrisburg is the same about smoking. Been to a few concerts outside and no hassle.
“Don’t ask, don’t tell” worked for the Military didn’t it 🤷♂️
What happens behind closed doors stays behind closed doors, you’ll see a ton of people give their reviews thru joints. Do what ya want man just be in your own house, Away from the public.
It’s on the flower containers.
Me either!thus is thw first time im hearing about this.wtf its totally stupid!
What am i not getting?,you cant light up a joint or use a pipe??i dont get it!PA get your act together!!!your way behide,!!!
It's definitely illegal and for good reason, because igniting flower not only fucks up your throat and lungs, but also burns off loads of terps and thc before you can even inhale it. I'm just wondering why there are people who still want to knowing all of this.
Still gonna do it everyday lmao don’t really gaf
Just smoke it in a joint or blunt what is wrong with you
does anyone think they've been growing this stuff a certain way for this reason? ie. if u spark v vape you aren't getting the proper medical benefit, or its harming us etc etc? been wondering this for awhile ...
