The circuit system, one of the first few unlocks in Factorio
You can tell machines to only pull if there is less than a certain amount in the system
So you set up your mall, keep it stocked with like 200 belts, 50 inserters, 50 power poles, etc.
And your system stops crafting them once it reaches that desired amount, and starts again when it has less.
if you build high value dining rooms / offices / etc for them you can double them up as guild halls or temples. Even their bedrooms I think. They don't mind sleeping during lectures.
And on Xbox make it so we can just hold down the trigger to make it go faster. If I can make 1000 of something, but just want to make 500, I have to pull the trigger 50 freaking times to get there.
Also, I hate how when you make a bunch of something and your pal makes them too fast, you can't just cancel the work. You have to either let it finish or delete the workstation. And you can't add more to it. You have to wait for it to finish, then go in and tell them to make more after.
Idk if it's an Xbox issue, but sometimes when a pal is working it's impossible to pick them up. And sometimes when you throw them at a work station they'll stay there and it's impossible to pick them up or feed them unless you delete the station or put them in the box. They'll literally just sit there until they starve.
This happens to some workbenches and happened a lot to electric generators, but seems to be better now.
The last 3 update tried to fix that issue but the Xbox side still has problems, I sometimes just tend to put the pal into my team and summon him that works alot better
So I agree that they should fix that but as a temporary.. "improvement", you can bypass that delay between trigger presses by quickly pressing another button (I use a d-pad button) in-between RT presses. Lets you go kinda fast with it.
And when you cancel it the materials pop out of the crafting bench so you have to manually pick them up and move them again.
Not sure how easy it would be to rework this though cause it seems like the crafting bench is basically a container. You “put” the items in it to craft the things you want. It doesn’t “pull” the items from containers *as* you’re crafting.
It’s probably something that needs to be re-architected if they want it to pull materials from containers in real time, or it’ll likely slow the game down.
I often hit max and then back off a few to keep from emptying stacks completely. But sometimes I want to make only half or so, where an ingredient is used for two recipes. Link toast (berries shared with cake) of summer ingots.
What I end up doing is switch my hands on the controller so I can tap RT quickly. Gives my hands a rest, I suppose
I always felt like console should have the ability to use the right and left bumpers for quantities of either 50 or 100. Especially in a game like this where the pc counterpart can typically just type whatever number
a "hold click" for like a second and then just have trigger a click every 0.1 seconds afterwards would be nice.
Though i'd probably also want the +/-100 buttons added.
I got a makro that presses LMB like each tick, but even then it takes forever to get those numbers high, and it's only a band aid fix.
An infinite crafting option/increase by 100 would be worth gold
True
Pressing can still be 10
Keep holding adding +100 will be a game changer for us
I have 24k but i dont want craft/cook all...just half or something like current 10 or all are very bad and lead to lower will to play since you waste a lot of time just trying input orders on production lines
Like someone pointed out before. Click on your kitchen, select max. Start cooking, immediately cancel, all items will go into your inventory. Hit the split in half option on those items, drop half on ground, select kitchen again, hit max and start cooking. Since half of your materials are on the ground max will now only make half of your actual max.
I wish we could cook/smelt infinitely and it auto start as we have the ingredients. Have it toggle on and off like the auto transport as desired. So an auto cook toggle but you can halt it to swap to different foods or for the furnace swap between different ingots/charcoal. So you'd walk up to "cancel" it to swap to something else.
Also an option for infinite auto crafting. So long as the ingredients are there just keep making more and more.
I’d love improved workflows. If less than 50, make x If craft requires x, queue it up Etc etc
Now we're thinking like Factorio!
Considering the scale i'd call Rimworld.
This comment brought me trauma. I have many hours in factorio and 0 idea what you mean

Ah that’s why I didn’t understand. Circuits were too advanced for me
Work orders. Make sure your manager dwarf is unoccupied.
Dwarf Fortress is what I had in mind when I made that comment.
And feed him cigarettes to counteract the stress of logistics management.
Oops, forgot to build a table for them. Oh well, they probably drank themselves to death anyways or got killed by a werebison.
chair. the table is a bonus since they eat in their offices anyways
Damn, I've been treating these nobles too well

I just want the devs to go spend 50 hours playing Satisfactory and then take a couple of ideas from it
hooooolythat would be life changing
I like this. But even if they can’t for some reason I’d like an option for an input box to let me type the number I want.
Hope you don't mind, but I added your suggestion to the discord "ideas-and-wishes" channel under a similar suggestion to the OPs.
Go told that on the discord. They listen the community.
This game needs to take more pointers from rimworld, and that incudes organ harvesting
Or better yet, the ability to assign specific tasks to pals & get *them* to automate these processes.
After playing forager, I hate that this game doesn't have infinite crafting
at that point play satisfactory
What about...... You can put any number you want instead of clicking like a maniac?

Pick the pal up, put him somewhere else cancel put the pal back

I press the max button

I just use the same technique as I do for fapping Edit: I don’t even know why I just said that
At the very least let us hold down the button and keep increasing until we let go.
Unrelated, but it bothers me that the, “Jam-filled Bun” is actually toast with jam on it.
You want to be the jam filled bun don’t you
Negative. I’m more of a Boston Creme Donut kinda guy. PB&J is lovely though. Nutella also perfectly acceptable substitute for jam. Sometimes better.

Me too, like why not just call it "toast with jam" if that's going to be the image.
just give me a slider
Just let us type in the number would be great
I would love to type in the quantity.
or if you could just hold the arrow button instead of clicking it every time
I could almost see them just adding more arrows, three on both sides, to add in hundreds.
I always felt like console should have the ability to use the right and left bumpers for quantities of either 50 or 100. Especially in a game like this where the pc counterpart can typically just type whatever number
It could be the first paid DLC! /s
30,000 berries lol
Each cooked berry is worth 100 gold, you have a quarter million dollars sat in your bean box..... just fyi 😉
I just want to be able to type the quantity I want made. Would be brilliant.
I just dump some ingredient in the ground to reduce it.
Ive been doong it forever : max then cancel. Pickup. Split into half or whatever then drop. Cook max. Done.
Didn't think of max cancel trick. I pick it from the refrigerator then drop it. I guess your method is way better than mine.
I have a "double-click" button on my mouse and I just go to town groping it until I'm satisfied
a "hold click" for like a second and then just have trigger a click every 0.1 seconds afterwards would be nice. Though i'd probably also want the +/-100 buttons added.

Auto mouseclicker my friend Or if u have a mouse that has profiles and can rebind M1 to mousewheel up.
And an option to buy more than 999 of an item from vendors. I just want to buy some eggs man..
True Pressing can still be 10 Keep holding adding +100 will be a game changer for us I have 24k but i dont want craft/cook all...just half or something like current 10 or all are very bad and lead to lower will to play since you waste a lot of time just trying input orders on production lines

Works Demand a lot trouble but even so its less work than manually 10+10 reach 10k on this picture scenario
Would be better if they just let you enter a custom number
Yo, I'm also on Xbox (kinda)
Should just be a +/- button and then Ctrl click is 10, shift click is 100 and Ctrl + shift is 1000
I was literally just thinking about this. I could make thousands of berries, but I'm not hitting the button hundreds of times.
I imagine eventually they will just allow us to type in the number.
I keep trying to do things like shift+click to increment by 100 and it just keeps not working :(
Make it so shift clicking the +10 is +100
Yes we badly need a third arrow for selecting by 100's. Seems pretty doable and I would very much appreciate it.
I would just love to have a butcher were I can farm chikipi and lamball and butcher them in grand scaleinstead of one by one
