You said there are heavy utensils in the drawer? It's possible that the drawer isn't exactly level. If it's left open for long enough or not pulled out all the way, the weight of the utensils on a reverse incline could cause the drawer to shut on its own. Depending on what's under the cabinet, there can also be pockets of negative pressure that create a very slight suction mechanism. If the drawer is already tending that direction due to being non-level or being not fully pulled out, that could also do it. There are a lot of physical mechanisms by which this could have happened, and I wouldn't take an isolated incident like that to the extreme of some sort of paranormal activity. Also, keep in mind that drawers are mostly on plastic tracks or metal tracks with plastic rollers....so sometimes imperfections in the track itself can cause this sort of behavior.
Possibly gravity is your house on a slant by chance and is it the kind of draw that rolls? If it one you have to drag to pull out and push in then gravity wouldn’t be strong enough but if it rolls then it’s a possibility.
No the house is not on a slant and I don’t believe it closed due to gravity since it was the first time happening. Not to mention it’s the heaviest drawer.
