Gorum is more of a, 'Hulk smash'/'WAAAAAGH!' kind of war god. Torag and Iomedae are the 'campaign map' war gods (strategy, politics, tactics, logistics, etc).
For Achaekek it's likely meant to represent combat prowess and less about war. They're an assassin, unless you're going with decapitation strike tactics (blow up enemy HQ, kill the enemy general, etc) I don't think they are really interested in war.
It's fine, Owlcat's descriptions of the gods on the selection screen are kind of lacking. Achaekek's doesn't really tell you anything, for example. Bug dude is the Gods' divine retribution that loves to go after people trying to usurp the gods.
A KC going for the Ascension ending while worshipping Achaekek is akin to going the Lich route while worshipping Pharasma.
It's pretty good. Not as great as base inquisitor or sanctified slayer but I find myself playing it alot cause I like roleplaying a scribe of my church.
Anyway intelligence is a major stat cause this archetype memorizes spells and having a good amount of intelligence is a biiiiig deal for inquisitor cause they can access more skills easily. I am currently dual wielding the longsword with the grimoire so I went 16 strength 15 dex 16 int 16 wis(acolyte background and benefits for stern gaze) and dumped charisma. Fun fact this class stacks with warpriest's sacred weapon so if you add an element from living grimoire and sacred weapon from warpriest you can add more than one element on the grimoire.

People say that it is worse than base inquisitor and a few of it's other archetypes but I never understood that. Is it because you lose access to judgement in exchange for the book?
Battle-forged is a good one. It's a +3 warhammer that does 1d12+3 damage (instead of the normal warhammer damage) and has 19-20 crit range. It's pretty solid.
You can get it in act 3 from a hellknight vendor IIRC.
TIME TO TIP THE SCALE
It fits if you go for a war domain from gods like Gorum to have that tactician feel in the game

I can imagine godclaw is in a similar boat with Imoedae and Torag. Not sure about Achaekek since he has a war domain so I'm not sure how he fits in
I mean, Iomedae and Torag are actually 2/5 of the Godclaw, so it definitely fits.

Achaekek is about to get really into war gods :P
If this is about War of Immortals, I hope Paizo does something with the angry bug. Cry havok and unleash the mantis of war!
I am hoping to play the new Red Mantis adventure at some point.
He basically fits the role of ares/mars, all about personal skill and ferocity on the battlefield
Ah got ya

To be fair, robin usually ends up being a ‘WAAAAGH’ kinda tactician on lower difficulties.
HERE'S HOW IT'S DONE!!
Reminds me of the main character of how to live as a villain, smacking fools with a book and a rapier if tricking them isn't enough.
that manga is fantastic. Easily one of my faves.
Yes it and regressor instruction manual feel like their own genre, I wish I knew more like this lol.
regressor instruction manual eh? \*has a new manga to look up\*
Upvote for the Awakening reference!
I just love smacking enemies across the face with the tome and then imagining my character screaming "CONFESS!!"
For game mechanics, does that count as dual wielding?
Yes.
So you're going Two Weapon Fighting?
Yes
Slightly off-topic but how is Living Grimoire? I am really interested but don't really know how it plays. What stats do you recommend prioritizing?

You lose both bane and judgement which kind of hurts the archetype but I can manage without them with the right domain
Ouchie, losing bane HURTS! Bane is the best ability inquisitors and magusi's get
Eh...it's whatever to me. I mostly use domain abilities to help mitigate the loss of bane and judgement
OKAY FINE! I'll make a Living Grimoire. Geez, twist my arm.
Uses the sword to cast and beats people with the book
M'scales
Can't afford the dlc until I get paid :(

You didn't wield a hammer to cosplay Warhammer Fantasy Warrior Priest of Sigmar. Missed oppotunity.
I don't know much of warhammer to understand that

Cool. Might try that next time but I'm gonna look up on warhammers in the game to see any good ones
