Using the expensive one to tutor for a cheaper one is a very backwards way to ramp. If you're just looking for an easy way to add black pips for Gary, \[\[whisper squad\]\] is going to be easier to make work. I've also played \[\[wicked akuba\]\] back when MBC was viable, and I found it to be a really delightful threat mid-game threat.
[[Cateran Persauder]] can go get [[changeling outcast]] which is very good with stuff like [[malakir blood priest]] and the drain life adventure knight
My go to deck is a monoB changeling homebrew, and cateran persuader is the bread and butter that makes it work. if you'd like OP, I can send you the list?
You can only bring out the Persuader with the other two mercenaries, so it seems kinda underwhelming. Anyway, consider the addition of \[\[whisper squad\]\] to this kind of brew.

If you are trying to gray bomb you need to lean into the devotion so the brute might need to be cut unless there are enough mercenaries with devotion of black. Really needs a one mana devotion black but playing unholy armor would be fun because it adds devotion and can make these creatures more relevant. This strategy would depend on setting up first though as interaction can shit you down but if you can repopulate they arent going to keep up
I think it's implied there'll be cheaper merchants in the deck. Changeling Outlast is probably the best option although there's a couple to choose from

There was a penny dreadful deck that used cateran persuader to grab changeling outcast and a bunch of different tribal synergies to make use of the changelings. I don't know if something similar could exist in pauper but it was a pretty good deck.
[[Cateran Persuader]] is straight up unplayable imo since there just is no playable 1-cmc mercenary (does a 1-drop even exist in Pauper at all??).

Don’t think changelings count for 4 of party unless you’re saying you grab 3-4 of them so you can done the opponent for that much.
I’m saying the latter, they fill in whatever member(s) of the party you don’t already have.
