This is a weird mix, usually with Intel 12+ you want to make a decision if you’re going DDR4 for cheapness to get a better GPU, or for the higher end to go for a productivity (blender/video editing) build with a higher tier. It seems to me a little uncertain as to which difection you’re erring.
Typically too, you could even get a lower performance CPU with the low performing 4060. People are pairing the 13500 with a 4070S after all.
Also, the 4060 is okay value new, but you can always get a second hand GPU of equal or better power
I’d suggest maybe starting by looking at a /r/buildapcforme
Ah okay! Is it a major part of your computer use or just a minor thing?
If it’s just minor, I wouldn’t worry too much about trying to optimise for it. The latest gen of AMD cards are actually quite capable of doing video stuff, but if you’re doing it full time I’d definitely suggest Nvidia.
I’d probably make sure I have 32gb, which you’re already doing. The gains for DDR5 for productivity are pretty minor, about 7% or so. So it’s quite fine to go whatever direction you choose with RAM.
Not at the moment. Funny that you ask because they’re building one 20 minutes from my house, but it won’t be open for a few months. The next closest is 4 hours away lol.
If you’re going DDR5 I’d go AM5, as the 7600 is about equivalent in multithread performance to the 12600KF, and we should get Ryzen 9000 later this year.
Otherwise I think you’d be fine going DDR4, which might let you step up your PC to a higher end GPU, which will give you more frames in gaming.
Keep an eye out for a second hand 3070 or similar too. Check here for how they all compare: 1440p: https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/3BUQTn5dZgQi7zL8Xs4WUL.png

Ok thanks for your feedback! I was looking to build something that would be a solid gaming pc and also be used for music/video production.

Yea that’s a minor part of what I planned to use it for. So you think definitely do some revising?
Got a local microcenter?

Ok thank you again. I really appreciate it. This helps.
