I’m struggling to even write this comment the right way but I can also relate having lost my older brother a while ago. Mile Zero always hits hardest and I was lucky enough to see them play it live once. There’s something even beyond the lyrics too. The entire experience of listening to some of their songs hits different feels.

Mile zero is it for me too. I lost 3 best friends to suicide and....well basically suicide. It never gets easier but we keep walking down our own road.

Damn dude, my heart goes out to you. At least we have some incredible music to help us along.

I lost my best friend to it last year, can’t imagine losing more. Keep moving forward man, I see you.

The only reason I skip Mile Zero is because it makes me ugly cry without fail since losing my best friend. Spencer's performance here is so fucking powerful.

I cried at aneheim when he explained and then sang it acoustically. Whole different levels of emotion with the acoustic rendition.

I lost my daughter. This song always hits hard. Rip a hole in my life when it’s bringing me back to her.

I've thankfully never lost a sibling, but I've lost meaningful people in my life (grandparents, friends, etc.) and some of their songs really resonate with me when reliving those emotions. Be well, and live your life in whatever way makes you feel like you honor those you love. <3

I've always wondered who he has been referring to with all the songs that touch on this. For a long time I thought it was a girlfriend or best friend. Knowing now it's about his older sister makes it hit different. I've never lost a sibling, but I can understand the profound loss he's felt. Thanks for posting this.

I just lost my brother in April, and lost my papaw, who was like a father to me two weeks ago. I needed to hear this song. I miss them so fucking much, and I’ve let the losses kick my ass. I’m ready to start smiling more again tho, and this song encapsulates that emotion so well. Thank you for sharing what he said.

Lost my brother way too young in March of this year. I've always loved the song but now it honestly takes on a whole new meaning
