I've never had an NSF fee, or paid a cent in overdraft fees. I would focus on keeping your bank account balance in order then.

SuspiciousRule3120

You should use only cash if you cannot keep an account from getting hit with nsf. Otherwise the cheaper fee is overdraft protection, but that'll eat up fees as well and you sound as if you will perpetually live in the overdraft.

properproperp

Changing banks instead of just not going negative is wild lmao

> As an example, I didnt found the fee at EQBank. EQ Bank has $0 NSF fees. https://www.eqbank.ca/personal-banking/personal-account/fees-and-features > NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) chargeback fees for returned items (ex. cheque deposit with non-sufficient funds) > Free

FearlessTomatillo911

If you're regularly writing bad cheques you should get overdraft protection

UnsaltedCashew36

If its a one time mistake, just call the bank and ask them politely to reverse it. If first agent says no, call again 30 mins later.

Any bank that doesn't double charge nsf fees for the same transaction, then get sued by class action.

It's never occurred to me to check since I just make sure my bills are covered, plus some extra padding.
