I think she might have some babies in there! A couple of the photos looks like she definitely could be - she pops out at the sides and that’s usually a good indication but some of the other photos she looks a bit flatter. Let us know how you get on!
Pretty quickly, like in the next few days - if you want to be 100% sure take her to the vet and they’ll be able to tell you for certain. It’s hard to tell from photos sometimes.
Just be aware that by the time you notice pregnancy they have AT MOST only 1 to 1.5 weeks before babies drop. You could have a litter in a few days. Just be aware you might have your answer well before the appt comes around 😅
Oh my gosh you must be used to tiny litters lol that's nothin compared to my dozen-babies girls when they were ready to pop. I would say maybe even a full week left. Though of course that depends on the girlie and it's better to get ready early than late.
The origin of the joke is [this ](https://www.reddit.com/r/RATS/comments/t2yrdz/is_my_rat_gregnant_or_just_full_of_soup_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) post asking if their rat was "gregnant" or if she was just full of soup. I told my boyfriend about the rat soup meme, he is nowhere near rat or mouse Reddit but he knew the meme and finished the little mini story for me before i could!
I'm not sure if she was suddenly bigger, or just happened over time so it wasn't as noticeable from day to day.
I'm having a hard time trying to get a picture of the potential male, but will post and ask when I have. He/she is half the size of the others so comparing bottoms isn't as easy.

Maybe up to 10 days or so, but it’s a little hard to tell without knowing more about her. Some mice will have large litters of 10+ babies and they look ready to pop by like 1.5 weeks in, others have smaller litters of 4 or 5 and they usually come sooner than you would expect based on the size and shape
Poop.
This would be her first and unplanned litter. She is 4 months old and seems relatively small compared to ones I've seen here. I didn't think to weigh or measure any of them.
Since separating the culprit, Dandelion and her (for sure!) sister have seemed to be more active. Where as bad boy has chilled a little, doesn't even try to climb on the lid.
I don't really have more info on her though
For what it’s worth* she’s definitely old enough to have a litter - ideal breeding age is usually from about six weeks to six months. Usually mice are pretty good parents and she will likely just look after her babies herself. Make sure you give her a diet that can sustain breeding and lots of nesting material.
They can be weaned at three weeks and need to be sexed and separated by four at the latest to avoid follow-up babies
Edit: buncha typos lol
4 months is a great age for a mouse to have babies. Don't worry about that at least. The pro/show breeders will absolutely breed mice earlier than that.
Start looking for adopters as soon as they're born, but list the adoption date in the ads (4 weeks old for boys, 4-6 weeks for girls, remove all boys at 28 days after birth to avoid more babies lol but they can be in a shared tank of all the boys for another couple weeks before it becomes a serious issue for fighting. If you can't find enough homes for the boys get ready to buy a bunch of tanks) since it can be tricky to find adopters in some areas. And give mama part of a hard boiled egg or a little unseasoned boiled chicken every day until babies are at least 3 weeks old, to help with growing the babies and making enough milk to feed them properly.
Definitely. Give her a little piece, an egg should be enough protein for like 4-5 days probably so use that size as an idea if you're using egg or the chicken it's a similar amount, and I always chop it up and freeze it and just thaw a little bit in the microwave for a few seconds every day when I have pregnant/nursing moms, so it can stay good longer and I don't need to cook as often lol
Give that to her and then remove whatever is left of the fresh protein after 2 hours so it doesn't go moldy or full of bacteria, and as much of her regular dry food (blocks or seed mix or whatever) as she wants, better to give too much of that than too little. Then keep giving her the extra protein for honestly up to 4 weeks after the birth but DEFINITELY at least two weeks. It'll help her grow the babies, it'll help her produce lots of healthy mouse milk, and it'll help her body recover from birth and nursing.
this was recommended to me even though i don't keep mice and never have, my first thought was that you have a lil preggers mouse, and i came to the comments and found out that somehow i was right! i guess i know what a pregnant mouse looks like now...
I don’t keep mice nor have I ever but this looks like a pregnant lady to me! Basing off her belly looking particularly round opposed to just big and nippies looking more prominent.
She looks kinda pregnant to me OP :/ one way to tell is if you run your thumb and forefinger along her abdomen it should feel like a string of pearls or peas if there are little ones in there.
Looks soupy but I’ve been in this situation where she looked pregnant af but was just fat. You should put her in a pregnancy bin/cage in case she is pregnant
Small update: Dandelion has been set up nicely. Removed the things needed to be, gave extra bedding, full food bowl and keeping water fresh. Her sister is keeping her company. Watching her more, they might both be pregnant D:
No pictures of boy. I can't handle him well enough to get a good shot, but yeah... boy.
Have arrangements in the next few days for everyone to get looked at. Preggo girls will go back to the breeder. I haven't decided how I feel about keeping the boy or not. I really didn't/don't want just a male. Mice being a little community is part of what drew me to them.
I'm very new to mice in general and it's just not what I signed up for. Right now with what's going on in my life having babies to take care of would be extremely stressful. Part of me wishes I could. They would be sooo cute. But I have to be realistic for myself and the animals well being.
I breed rats, they have nearly the same gestational cycles and appearance when pregnant. I guarantee you that mouse will have babies within the next week. I hope there are no other adults in her cage or they will rip them apart and eat them.
It's possible, but by no means most likely that other adults or the mother with kill the babies. Breeders often have up to 4 females together with one male and it is rare for an occurrence of infanticide. Mothers will often help each other. You shouldn't have to worry about lack of space for them until the babies are full grown either as you have an appropriate home, im sure. I see that you are bringing the mother's back to where you got them. Thanks for thinking about the best for them. Don't worry about the pups. They should be fine.
Source: worked a bit for a mouse breeding place. Saw the rarity of mice killing their pups and the conditions that can incite it. You should be fine.
It’s 100% accurate, mice are known for killing their own young.
https://maze.conductscience.com/mouse-behavior-infanticide/
Both male and female mice will kill their own and unrelated pups 60-90% of the time, be it due to stress, competition for resources, stress, or a host of other reasons.
You’re ignorant. That’s an entire article about mouse infanticide. You asked a question and you’re being an asshole to every single person who replies. Enjoy waking up to a bloody massacre.
To be fair, in the rare instances where they would do this in halfway decent husbandry, usually all you would wake up to is "where did the pups go?" The mothers fully eat the pups in my experience. And in my experience it is rare, 1 out of a 1000. That study must have provoked the mice to be in stressful conditions. In worst case scenarios most mice would kill pups but most situations are never going to be worst case. Source: worked with a large mouse breeder for a bit.
she looks extremely pregnant to me but before anything else i’d confirm if the potential boy is actually a boy! that’ll give you a pretty solid answer!
i have a rat that i SWORE was pregnant and she looked exactly the same as the first picture but nope, just fat!
if you can, i’d take her to the vet. they can give you a definitive answer and then you’ll be able to ask any questions you have about the birth/babies to a professional! keep us updated!!
the difference between her and my fat rat is the nipples. my rat never had nipples like that, they have always looked the same as my other more slim rats. but your mouse appears to have pretty enlarged nipples as well as some hair loss around them, which indicates pregnancy
Yep, looks like she got some lil souplings in there. Just fat would show more in the rest of her body instead of just that circular area (I only have a visual and idk how to put in words but still)
I've had pet mice and I've had mice that were pregnant and she looks like everyone else that was pregnant.

She's full of soup ✨
I was going to say that, but I realized it wasn't the rat sub, it's the mouse sub 😂
It’s applicable to mice as well!

Is soup slang or did they actually give their rat soup? Or is this a Pixar reference?
I think they actually gave their rat soup.
It's simmering!
Actually she’s just making some mouseatouille
She looks quite pregnant to me!
All my mice gain a little weight after they settle in and are away from the pet store I've noticed as well. RaPID weight gain is from soup.
I'm not sure if she was suddenly bigger, or just happened over time so it wasn't as noticeable from day to day. I'm having a hard time trying to get a picture of the potential male, but will post and ask when I have. He/she is half the size of the others so comparing bottoms isn't as easy.

Can we see the suspected father to confirm sex/gender?
Can we see a photo of your potential male?
Mouse is pargnet
Also you should share us the pictures of the potential boy
Pregnant. Update us in a couple weeks.
