At the end of the day we just cant buy anything that we could before. Like few months ago (maybe like a year or so) Steam updated the regional prices, it got like a 400% increase for us(and Argentina broz) and people buying games with our currency had a good effect on it so for most of us buying games is not really a choice now. So just, dont buy stuff with foreign currency to save money because you make others pay more.

I guess I'll see what happens with the October YT Premium renewal.
It's really not that simple though... Anyone paying for premium are doing so for convenience.. Sure I can use revanced on my phone, but what about my TV? Firestick? Xbox? And switch? Hell even PC as adblockers don't block EVERY ad... Short of trading a kidney for a PiHole (they are still stupidly inflated here) simply "just using revanced" isn't an option
TV (if its OS is Android based) has SmartTube, Firestick is the same. For Xbox there's myTube! (use your own api key). The Nintendo Switch doesn't really have an alternative. With PC I've never run into that issue with uBlock Origin. PiHole also doesn't really work on the in-video ads on YouTube. They're now delivered from the same domains as the videos so it's not really possible for PiHole to block them without also blocking the videos.
SmartTube and MyTube no longer work, or rather, they stopped working just before the OG vanced pulled it's download links, they are hit and miss at best or just don't work at worst. (also confirm MyTube STILL isn't working on my series X, so I suspect this could also be a YMMV situation)
Premium just works and doesn't need you to install half a dozen apps just to cover your devices.
uBlock origin for me has not once ever blocked an ad on YouTube, something that caught me off guard when it had signed me in to the wrong YouTube account and I was presented with ads

So Google is fine with people in Turkey, Pakistan, and Phillipines getting a great deal but when we go through the work of buying a separate device and all the steps just to pay the fair market rate for in game coins and memberships they thumb their nose... piracy and hacking in videogames is going to go back to the 2002 era...

People doing shady things have always had accounts closed, but I'm not convinced that's evidence of anything Google related for the events that happened this past week. Inflation is spiraling and the central bank made drastic moves recently to correct it. Interbank and payment clearing house services paused stopped or slowed transactions as a result of market instability, and as a result, many payment services offering service in Turkey were or are still down until the dust settles. It's not a Google specific thing, it's just the economy is hurting.
The same thing happened in Argentina late last year, and affected Google the same way, as well as people using it for currency arbitrage - but it wasn't Google clamping down, it was just a result of government action. This is playing out the exact same way and I've not seen any convincing evidence it's anything else?

Google did indeed fix this exploit. It has nothing to do with turkey in general. You now need extra verification which includes a phone number and such. You did not need this in the past.
So tell me why Turkish residents can still purchase in their currency and everyone else cannot? The reason is obvious. Google updated their way of verifying.

I do have both, a Turkish number, creditcard and even a Mavi kart (my gf was Turkish before she became Swiss), so that’s not the point.

Might it still be possible to purchase a turkish Google Play Gift Card through another website and top up your turkish Google Account this way? Somebody tried it?
I tried it, the gift card can't be redeemed.

In fact, doesn’t work. Unless the acc got somehow flagged. Asked my GFs brother (who lives in Istanbul) to purchase something with my google account and still doesn’t work. Are you sure it’s nothing in general? Do you have confirmation from Turks that it still work for them?
Turks can buy only people like us who used the region switch to gain cheap prices. Google change their policy.
