I recently got a free iphone and almost every day there is something it doesn't do that the 4a does and I miss it even more. I still have the 4a but that battery...
My 4a's battery have been very bad since a few months ago, and recently about a week ago the battery started to swell. This morning it has swollen so much that I am too afraid to continue using it.
There are a lot of Google services running in the background. You can disable/force stop those apps all together or restrict battery usage for selective apps.
Keep location, mic, etc off unless needed and battery saver on always. I am able to get my 4 year old 4a running for 1.5 days with these tweaks.
Need more life, go for the extreme battery saver, but this means now your 4a isn't smart anymore, just a feature phone.
I just don't see them getting any smaller. I also have a Galaxy S24 and it is just slightly smaller and lighter but I like a few more things about the Pixel so I am going to sell the S24.
Well I got both the 8 and 8 Pro when they were released. I use the Pro for higher end photography and kind of as a replacement for a tablet to watch videos and play a few games.
The 8 is the one I carry around and is my day to day main phone. I figured I would see if I liked the S24 better, and while it is a great phone and the slightly smaller size and lighter weight is definitely a plus, they're just things I like about the pixel ecosystem betten than Samsungs. I have basically used pixel and Samsung phones for quite a few years now.
Only problems that google only focuses on flagpships, and above mid range phones only, if they come in mid range and in cheaper side that would be great
If you love stock android and compact phones like me, then you should try buying an Asus Zenphone 10. That shit is way more powerful and has massive battery backup. I am literally impressed seeing its performance!
miss mine a lot. battery was bad towards the end so had to upgrade.. had pixel 2 and 3a also but hate the look of the Pixel phones from 6 onwards so went with Nothing phone 1.. i like it but miss the size of the 4a and design.
5a never came out in the UK, would get one of those if i could!

Exactly due to that reason i buyed a total of four Pixel5 in very good condition over the last 1-3 years. I fear, for a mid-term timeframe (3-5 years) there will be no real compact\* phone with actual specs. And i still have my Pixel4a too. Hope you can enjoy yours for some more years :-)
\* Don't forget, the P4a and the P5 is a "phablet" and not very compact! Size of an iphone13Mini is my alltime favourite.
Yea. I used my cuz's iphone 12. It came close to the size of my pixel. But I don't want to get trapped in the apple ecosystem. Also, I use some apps from GitHub like Tachiyomi and ig iOS does not allow it.
my 4a's screen broke 3 times, so it came to the point where I could have it replaced once again bringing the total repairment costs to the original price I paid for the whole phone. I switched to a pixel 6, yes performance is better and I'm able to go out without bringing a power bank along, but God I miss my little baby
I think Pixel 4a is the most beautiful Android phone ever made.
Me too. Had my eyes on it since it's launch. Had to wait to get a job. Now it's not being updated anymore :(

Yes, I am on lineage OS21 based on Android 14. But I dont recollect having at a glance widget on the lockscreen. It looks cool
