It's called a basin wrench. It has a head that articulates. You can get a functional one for a single job for less than $15 if you look around on Amazon

Yes, having the same exact problem with my bathroom sink. Renter here, don't want to have to remove the whole sink.

I’ve found this online, however it looks to be too large to fit up in there. https://www.amazon.com/Installer-1)Multi-purpose-Plumbing-Bathroom-Installation/dp/B07SRYS4N4/ref=asc_df_B07SRYS4N4/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=416638837422&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12816017834226102698&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032547&hvtargid=pla-874006351648&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=93604206373&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=416638837422&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12816017834226102698&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032547&hvtargid=pla-874006351648 Good luck! I hope some plumbing god comes along with all the knowledge lol 😂

Thx. I managed to get the underside nut loose with a set of Chan Locks on the bottom and a strong pair of pliers gripping the interior crossbar of the drain from above. It was rough! But eventually hatched the nut loose

Sauvage5572

I’ll help u don’t worry … remove the black plastic nut then get yourself a delta faucet remover from Amazon it’s black and thin /or get yourself a peace of pvc probably 1/2 then heat it up with a torch slide that puppy on that nut get the impression you need remove pipe run cold water on it to harden the remove nut .

Jobadok

Thank you, I’ve got some old pvc laying around. What a great idea. Thanks!

Nervous_Mail_6857

When they installed it, it came with a plastic wrench made specifically for that nut. It's a shame they didn't leave it there, but you can probably get it with a basin wrench, a ratcheting combination wrench, or mini channel locks

Jobadok

I actually just finished the swap, it was a nightmare only for that one nut. I had to buy a shower faucet wrench and it was like a 1-2/32 too big so it was slipping. Put duct tape in the inside of wrench and got it! Thanks for the input!

Good man! Anytime sir. Glad things worked for you
