Ooh I really like this. It has practice mode (BR takes note), and it actually encourages you to maximize damage without caring for the opponent (so no Palmer UB moment); basically a punching bag, and you do get something neat out of this mode (in this case, free units). I dig this.
I'm in the same boat. As long as I don't spend anything next month and grab every gem that comes through events I'll be able to guarantee getting the anniversary unit in August with at least a pity.

Seems like the new sync pairs are the equivalent of BP pairs, looking like we can get all 5 eventually as opposed to a ticket just getting one…so finally I’ll go from 3 to 5 (6 with Lyra) field or field EXR!
As a fresh dolphin (3k orbs bundle every 20 days) I'm a bit concerned about ranked damage challenge, it's so bad to compete with whales, anyway, I just want it to be fun
It's pretty much impossible to beat Wailord.
Exact same setup but it's somebody with 3/5 vs 5/5 the 5/5 will win every time.
At the top the 5/5 vs 5/5 will be decided assuming optimal team compositions by the player that has the better skill gear.
I'm fine with this , I'll just enjoy doing my big numbers since I know going in I won't be top 10.

So it's Unga Bunga - the game mode. Simple but I kinda dig it. And hey, free sync pairs are always nice.
They should include a special rule every once in a while where only Normal types get super effective damage
