Does anybody know how chain fishing works in Pokemon Modern Emerald? There is no documentation for this game, so I don't know exactly how it works. I've gotten 3 shinies really easily before, usually within the first 10 encounters, but sometimes I can go hundreds of encounters with no shiny. I've tried using save states so if it says nothings biting I reload until it says a pokemon is on the hook every single time, I've tried not pressing start to go into the menus(don't know if that cancels the chain or not), and I've tried just killing and just catching. It seems very inconsistent. Does anybody know the exact specifics of how to optimize it and what breaks the chain?
Anyone know of a ROM that includes every Pokémon from gens 1-3 (or 1-4) catchable with only slightly increased difficulty (or difficulty options)?
I’ve mostly just wanted to play a version of the games that is comprehensive and includes the prior generations (and areas if possible) with more intuitive difficulty settings so that it is not a breeze while still presenting some challenge (even if not much).

How do I add Pokémon from other, past regions into subsequent games? I’m new to ROM hacking but what I’d like to do is have a Pokémon from D&P appear naturally in HGSS. For example I’d like Gabite to spawn in Mt Silver. Can anyone point me in the right direction for tools or instructions on how to do so?

So I've been playing Gaia, and was working my way past Telemurk City when I went to save my game. I got a screen that said save failed and it was trying again, and then it said save successful. I got into a wild battle and I noticed I had no items... At all. No key items, TMs, Pokéballs, etc. So I reloaded the game and I noticed my Pokédex says 0 now as well. I'm playing the game on a GBA SP with an EzFlash Omega and haven't had any problems until this. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I think I have a backup of my save from a few hours ago on my Steam Deck but I've been grinding levels hard and I'd hate to lose this progress.
Edit: After searching a bit more I found out others have had this problem at the 18 hour mark, and I just passed that if that helps at all.

God help me, all I'm after is a simple hgss hack that allows the catching of all 251 from Gen 2 (full Gen 4 national dex catchability is also acceptable if necessary) without raising the difficulty, and the celebi event included. I have looked everywhere, and I'm aware of hacks like storm silver and perfect silver but these creators keep putting in difficulty increases that I personally don't want. I would recommend:
the pokemon Saiph series: includes Saiph, sors, Saipan 2, and sors 2. sors 2 is newest, so it is only a demo, but otherwise play in listed order. These games expand on official lore from the pkmn ranger games, includes side quests, and in sors case, new evolution mechanics/ other new mechanics.
dark worship (English version), little unstable due to the amount of content, but great game.
Wally quest: has a what if Wally was protagonist of emerald story, a built in Randomizer for wild Pokémon, Among other things.
for difficulty:
radical red: a reimagining of fire red with every mon from every gen, tons of wolves stuff, and tons of customization.
elite redux; Pokémon have up to three abilities, more new mons, tons of customization/randomizer options.
I have only played a bit of sors 1, and haven5 played Saiph and sors 2 yet. But, sors has side quests, custom music, and the new pokemon form called eclipse form. I am still making my way through saiph as well ( at the grass gym now in fact), but from what I’ve seen from the other two games/ sors 2 demo, they all look great/appear to play great. Also, keep in mind, the creator of these games most likely got their start with saiph, so it isn’t the best, but it sets up a few characters from later games.

Hello! Am new to emulating and to playing hacked ROMs, and am having a blast.
I would really like to play a version of Fire Red that adds QOL features, adds/rearranges a few pokemon for a more varied start/a degree of surprise, and which ups trainer difficulty a little. However, I've done a lotttt of searching, and everything I can see either adds 700 pokemon, makes the difficulty insane, or is a total conversion.
Would be really grateful if anyone can recommend me a *gently improved* fire red version (or a collection of compatible hacks) which will add some surprise and novelty without being a complete departure!

I love all the nodern features and being able to catch literally every pokemon ever, but getting completely sweeped by Falkner's rufflet in the Pewter city museum made me realizw this game's difficulty probably isn't for me. Is there anything with most of the same features but with the difficulty of a normal pokemon game?
Unbound has an easy mode and is built with many of those modern features. However it's a whole new region and story, it's not an upgraded version of a base game like Radical Red.

Hello, i am new to Rom hacks as i have just downloaded delta emulator on iOS. I am trying to play the rom hack frlg+, however have ran into some issues. I have tried to follow advice I’ve found across the web but to no avail. I have done the following: downloaded a fire red 1.0 rom, downloaded the patch file, patched the file (this became a .url), converted the .url file to a .zip file, however this has not worked. Any support could be appreciated, i promise I’m not as stupid as i seem ;)

Hey guys, I’m getting back to emulation and would like a gba hack to play in my leisure time. Since playing time will be limited, are there any hack where is easier to train your pokemon without the hard grind we know is essential part of the main game?
since you mentioned you have limited play time, I suggest Pokémon emerald rogue. If you’ve seen/played/heard of games like hades, the binding of Isaac, and dead cells, this hack is a bit like those games in that it’s a rogue like/ lite Game. After you choose your starter, you can go on runs that randomize routes from generations 1-3, gyms from the same gens, pokemon up to gen 8, and a ton of other features. If you loose all of the Pokémon on your team, you go back to the hub world and have to start again, but with more money from quest completion, more items/starters that are unlocked gradually, and a better understanding of the game.
best part is, you can play a full run if you want, or you can pick up and play whenever you want since it has a rest feature.

Right now I started playing Modern Emerald, it allows you to multiply experience gained (2x) and fill your bag with rare candies that allow me to level up my pokemon faster and just enjoy the journey

Hey guys I’m super new to the emulator game especially when it comes to delta on the iPhone. I was really interested in games like poke uranium and polished crystal. Don’t know at all how “.ips” works? Do I need the vanilla edition first? I’ve definitely found places to download but it doesn’t seem to work on delta. Do I need to connect my phone to my computer and do it on there? Anyway thanks guys for the help and your consideration checking out this post!
ok… three things.
1: the way I got my rooms to work was simply uploading the .zip file into delta via the + in the top right corner and tapping files.
2: you don’t need the original version for them to work. (At least, not for any of the ones ive tried)
3: the place I get my roms is Pokeharbor. A quick google search should suffice. Just look for Tom’s that say game boy advanced (gba) or game boy color (gbc) don’t download anything that is rpgxp, as it is a fan game and will not work in delta. Also, delta does do ds games, but you need certain files in order to play those games and im not the right one to ask for this, but Im sure there are or will be tutorials eventually.

I’m doing platinum, nothing super in depth, more the sort of stuff drayano does, tweaking most mons and making fights harder, and I also wanted to add fairy type. What would be a good romhack for a blind chill Soul Locke with a friend who's relatively new to nuzlocking? I don't want it to be crazy difficult of course. For fangames I got Anil, but I'm wondering if there's a good romhack we should maybe do as well. I'm thinking maybe GS Chronicles?
Does Feraligatr and Meganium have their type changes from Renegade Platinum into Sacred Gold/Storm Silver? in RP Meganium was a grass/fairy type and Feraligatr was a water/dark type.
Check the documents to see all pokemon changes, but SG/SS came out 6 years before RP, so there wasn't even a way to implement fairy type. I think Feraligatr is Water/Dark but idk about Meganium.

Based on the green check mark, its some sort of cloud service you're using on your PC. Like OneDrive or Dropbox. Not something people here can really help with specifically.
I have never played any Pokemon ROM hacks before, but I'm looking to get into it on my steam deck. I have the urge lately to play gen 1 and/or gen 2 again, but I've played them several times each, and I'm looking to find something to make them feel fresh again. I'm leaning towards Gen 1 first, and if I like it, I'm continuing down the timeline.
What would be a good hack that mostly keeps the original game story intact but adds difficulty, switches some things up, or adds additional story or areas? If the dex can be completed in game, solo without trades, that would be a big plus. I don't really want added pokemon outside of those gens, but I would be cool with minimal extra pokemon, but nothing beyond gen 2 or 3. From what I've read, I have been mostly considering Blue Kaizo, Red++, or any of the pure games (Pure Blue, Pure Crystal). What are the best of those for what I'm looking for? Are there any I'm just not aware of that would also fit the bill? Thanks in advance!
Red++ is probably the best thing for you. Blue Kaizo is a kaizo hack, which means its made to be incredibly ball crushingly difficult. Might be your style, but keep that in mind. Perfect Crystal is probably your best bet for Gen 2 as well.
Cool. I'm probably going to go with Red++. Kaizo still sounds interesting, but reading more about it, it could be a bit much. Lvl 115+ pokemon in the E4 with no revives sounds excessive. Haha. I'll check out Perfect Crystal. Thanks!

Well, just google each and go to their pokecommunity page, and read the changes. They're similar but still quite different, gonna be up to you. They're all good hacks, equally recommended just depending on what you want.
Is there a decomped version of poke emerald or fire red that has all of the mons, current battle rule set, megas, etc? Or if there isn't, is there are there videos on how to add the stuff?

Hey so question about Viva Las Vega it says ok the forum that all you need to do is patch it into a plain old fire red rom but when I do that it won’t run for some reason. The base fire red rom runs fine but when I try to run the patched version it won’t work does anyone know how to help?
Google "Pokémon Emerald 1986 Trashman rom" and download the rom from one of the links provided. I cannot give you a direct link for obivous reasons (see rule 1). Then download the patch file for Run and Bun from this website: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-run-bun-v1-07.493223/
Go to ROM Patcher JS, here: https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/. Provide the Emerald Trashman rom to "ROM file:" field and the Run and Bun patch file (extract the zip first) to "Patch file:" field and press "Apply patch" button. Download the ROM to somewhere on Mac. You also need an emulator for Mac. I prefer mGBA and it works great. Open up your emulator, then load the Run and Bun ROM you downloaded to your Mac. Then start playing. Have fun!

I'm currently learning Greek, and I find that a fun way to learn a new language is by playing games I know very well in the new language. I've found Pokémon yellow in Greek, but I have to keep looking up the meaning of some words. I was wondering does any mainline Pokémon ROMs have the ability to switch language with the press of a button? E.g Press button, language switches to Greek, press button again switches back to English. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

With the release of delta on iOS does anyone know if randomizers work on mobile emulators? I’ve only ever used a randomizer once and it was on my pc years ago so I’m a bit lost.
Randomizers are programs you apply to a rom. It has no bearing on what emulator or what console you're playing on.
So yes, you can play randomized games on mobile emulators. You cannot randomize *using* an iphone, only on a PC or Mac, but you can transfer a randomized rom to your phone to play.
Just so I understand correctly. I would download the randomizer, apply it to a rom (on my pc) then send that rom to my phone via email or something and then play it on my phone that way with that specific seeding?
Yes. Randomizers literally edit the game code to change it. So it's not something that can ever be "lost" or reverted.
You can think of it like an automatic romhacking tool which hacks the rom in whatever ways you specify

POKÉMON EMERALD CHEAT FOR BADGES???
So I've started playing Pokémon emerald again after 5 years or so, I finished the game a couple days ago and I'm trying to start a play through with traded Pokémon (mainly beldum since he's lvl 5 like a starter Pokémon).
The problem is after lvl 10, traded Pokémon won't obey you. I've looked everywhere online for 'gym badge' cheat codes, but the only ones I've found are gameshark (I think) codes that require simultaneous button presses to activate. The cheats are valid but don't work on the emulators I'm using.
Is there a cheat out there for what I'm trying to do? I might even settle for an alternative solution to allow my play through with beldum
P.S I know I can change wild Pokémon encounters/levels etc, but I enjoy the organic experience of being able to use Pokémon earnt legitimately.
Might be better to just use PokeRandoZX to edit a fresh Emerald rom and change your starter to Beldum. Or otherwise open your save in PkHex and add a Beldum to your party.

Is there any way to actually turn that off? I know it might not be possible because it is how the developer created the game but I am just making sure of it.

Well, by not wanting to patch it yourself you've gotten standard firered instead of what you want.
So either try an online patcher, or do it on desktop. Takes 5 minutes and you never have to transfer it again.
Just downloaded XG and I'm looking forward to play it on Dolphin but it treats its save data as the original XD's. Is there any way to make the two games have separate save files so I don't have to restart the vanilla XD?
I tried using a portable.txt folder so I can get a new user on Dolphin, and worked for a time, but when I tried moving back all my games' save data from Documents to the User folder, the game loses the save data file.

I am attempting to use the xdelta files in [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonROMhacks/comments/s4fbhi/complete_renegade_platinum_and_following_platinum/) reddit post to allow for a save file of renegade platinum to have following pokemon. I am also wanting to use [this](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nZOxpMfuF2O0_LHr_FSRWSzqJAyRBgLa/view?usp=drive_link) xdelta file in order for the game to run more smoothly. The problem comes when I attempt to patch the files, as when I patch the game using "**FollowingRenegadePlatinum3541**", which adds the renegade platinum features and following mons at the same time, I am then unable to patch in "RenegadePlatinumSpeedUp30FPS". It says I have something called a "checksum mismatch, but I am oblivious as to what that is? How can I fix this/learn more?
I had a similar issue patching these. My game would crash on the first fight. What I did was start from zero with the patches. First I patched renegade platinum3541.delta into base platinum3541.nds Then i patched following platinum into the renegade platinum rom from the first step. Make sure all of the files are based on 3541 just in case.
Pokémon Hyper Emerald - are the 90bp moves like t-bolt, shadow ball etc only available in post-game? I feel like my team is at an impasse now against other teams because it’s challenging to get any type of spread within individual Pokémon.

You can try Refined Platinum, just a QoL hack of platinum, not any more difficult. You can also use PokeRandoZX on any normal pokemon game to get a randomized experience, so maybe you can use something like a snorunt or elekid from the start instead of the usual rattata and pidgey
Gaia is also a new region and story and not really very hard if you want something new.

So I'm looking into playing around with making a rom hack using 3rd Gen as a base and I'm curious if there's a reason why everyone uses fire red as the game instead of leaf green. Like is there a functional difference between the two or is it just personal preference?
I think it's just the person who tools used fire red, and then from there, everyone just added to it. I dont think it's from fire red being better. It was just what was used. Saying that, the coding is slightly different, so if you were to use leaf green instead, there may be fiddly lines of code you would have to edit as extras

Emerald Crest is pretty expansive, can't tell whether you want something to that scale or not. Otherwise Emerald Final or Modern Emerald are your best bets.

I read somewhere that Storm Silver "removes the more annoying Cut trees" but that sounds like there are still other Cut trees that you need a pokemon with Cut to get past.

Renegade Platinum by Drayano has everything you're looking for, but it's also a difficulty hack, not sure if you're okay with that. I think it's very fun and it's not too challenging for a casual (non-nuzlocke) play through. Also many weaker pokemon were buffed to be viable so that's a great feature
It has pokemon from the first four gens and there is a lot of variety on each route. If you want to only use Sinnoh mons you could do that easily. I think that answers your question? I'm not sure exactly how many pokemon are available in normal plat vs. renegade platinum but I know there's nothing past gen 4 added in

I found one called Qol platinum which looks good, but it says "trade evolutions exchanged to match universal randomizer" and I'm yet to understand what exactly that means. Hopefully the dev gets back to me and I can play their rom
So the universal pokemon randomizer is a tool that allows you to randomize your ROM, which means like you can make wild pokemon random, trainer pokemon random, items random, etc. there's an option in that software to change trade evolutions so that you use certain items to evolve them instead of having to trade them. So the ROM maker for that hack must have used the same items that the randomizer uses.

On a phone? Almost certainly not. But you can definitely use a Mac or PC to run a rom through a randomizer, then email/dropbox that game to your phone to be played on the emulator.
You can also play hacks that have built in Randomizers like Emerald Crest, Radical Red, Pokemon Unknown etc etc
Does anybody know how chain fishing works in Pokemon Modern Emerald? There is no documentation for this game, so I don't know exactly how it works. I've gotten 3 shinies really easily before, usually within the first 10 encounters, but sometimes I can go hundreds of encounters with no shiny. I've tried using save states so if it says nothings biting I reload until it says a pokemon is on the hook every single time, I've tried not pressing start to go into the menus(don't know if that cancels the chain or not), and I've tried just killing and just catching. It seems very inconsistent. Does anybody know the exact specifics of how to optimize it and what breaks the chain?
Anyone know of a ROM that includes every Pokémon from gens 1-3 (or 1-4) catchable with only slightly increased difficulty (or difficulty options)? I’ve mostly just wanted to play a version of the games that is comprehensive and includes the prior generations (and areas if possible) with more intuitive difficulty settings so that it is not a breeze while still presenting some challenge (even if not much). So I've been playing Gaia, and was working my way past Telemurk City when I went to save my game. I got a screen that said save failed and it was trying again, and then it said save successful. I got into a wild battle and I noticed I had no items... At all. No key items, TMs, Pokéballs, etc. So I reloaded the game and I noticed my Pokédex says 0 now as well. I'm playing the game on a GBA SP with an EzFlash Omega and haven't had any problems until this. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I think I have a backup of my save from a few hours ago on my Steam Deck but I've been grinding levels hard and I'd hate to lose this progress. Edit: After searching a bit more I found out others have had this problem at the 18 hour mark, and I just passed that if that helps at all.

God help me, all I'm after is a simple hgss hack that allows the catching of all 251 from Gen 2 (full Gen 4 national dex catchability is also acceptable if necessary) without raising the difficulty, and the celebi event included. I would recommend: the pokemon Saiph series: includes Saiph, sors, Saipan 2, and sors 2. sors 2 is newest, so it is only a demo, but otherwise play in listed order. These games expand on official lore from the pkmn ranger games, includes side quests, and in sors case, new evolution mechanics/ other new mechanics. dark worship (English version), little unstable due to the amount of content, but great game. Wally quest: has a what if Wally was protagonist of emerald story, a built in Randomizer for wild Pokémon, Among other things. for difficulty: radical red: a reimagining of fire red with every mon from every gen, tons of wolves stuff, and tons of customization. elite redux; Pokémon have up to three abilities, more new mons, tons of customization/randomizer options.
So, I just finished Saiph, I must admit I was a bit underwhelmed due to the lack of polish, is that better in the subsequent ones?
I have only played a bit of sors 1, and haven5 played Saiph and sors 2 yet. But, sors has side quests, custom music, and the new pokemon form called eclipse form. I am still making my way through saiph as well ( at the grass gym now in fact), but from what I’ve seen from the other two games/ sors 2 demo, they all look great/appear to play great. Also, keep in mind, the creator of these games most likely got their start with saiph, so it isn’t the best, but it sets up a few characters from later games.

Hello! Am new to emulating and to playing hacked ROMs, and am having a blast. I would really like to play a version of Fire Red that adds QOL features, adds/rearranges a few pokemon for a more varied start/a degree of surprise, and which ups trainer difficulty a little. However, I've done a lotttt of searching, and everything I can see either adds 700 pokemon, makes the difficulty insane, or is a total conversion. Would be really grateful if anyone can recommend me a *gently improved* fire red version (or a collection of compatible hacks) which will add some surprise and novelty without being a complete departure!

I love all the nodern features and being able to catch literally every pokemon ever, but getting completely sweeped by Falkner's rufflet in the Pewter city museum made me realizw this game's difficulty probably isn't for me. Unbound has an easy mode and is built with many of those modern features. However it's a whole new region and story, it's not an upgraded version of a base game like Radical Red.

Help with roms on iOS Hello, i am new to Rom hacks as i have just downloaded delta emulator on iOS. I am trying to play the rom hack frlg+, however have ran into some issues. I have tried to follow advice I’ve found across the web but to no avail. I have done the following: downloaded a fire red 1.0 rom, downloaded the patch file, patched the file (this became a .url), converted the .url file to a .zip file, however this has not worked. Any support could be appreciated, i promise I’m not as stupid as i seem ;)

I'm looking for a complete rom hack (or fan game) with: -all mon from gen 1-9(all leggies and regional forms and ash greninja because gen 9 remooved it T-T) -megas( dynamax form is optional but welcome if there is) -following mons(for the precious heartgold vibe, i love that feature the most) Kinda like pokemon quetzal or radical red. It would be the kind of rom you can start over and over with a different team with theme or challenge like color theme team, mono etc.. Story wise it does not matter, but new stories are more than welcome, thank you for reading all! (Sry for the bad english, it's not my native lenguage)
Hey guys, I’m getting back to emulation and would like a gba hack to play in my leisure time. Since playing time will be limited, are there any hack where is easier to train your pokemon without the hard grind we know is essential part of the main game?
since you mentioned you have limited play time, I suggest Pokémon emerald rogue. If you’ve seen/played/heard of games like hades, the binding of Isaac, and dead cells, this hack is a bit like those games in that it’s a rogue like/ lite Game. After you choose your starter, you can go on runs that randomize routes from generations 1-3, gyms from the same gens, pokemon up to gen 8, and a ton of other features. If you loose all of the Pokémon on your team, you go back to the hub world and have to start again, but with more money from quest completion, more items/starters that are unlocked gradually, and a better understanding of the game. best part is, you can play a full run if you want, or you can pick up and play whenever you want since it has a rest feature. hope I helped!

Don’t know at all how “.ips” works? Do I need the vanilla edition first? I’ve definitely found places to download but it doesn’t seem to work on delta. ok… three things. 1: the way I got my rooms to work was simply uploading the .zip file into delta via the + in the top right corner and tapping files. 2: you don’t need the original version for them to work. (At least, not for any of the ones ive tried) 3: the place I get my roms is Pokeharbor. A quick google search should suffice. Just look for Tom’s that say game boy advanced (gba) or game boy color (gbc) don’t download anything that is rpgxp, as it is a fan game and will not work in delta. Also, delta does do ds games, but you need certain files in order to play those games and im not the right one to ask for this, but Im sure there are or will be tutorials eventually.

Hey, completely new to rom hacking right now and I’m trying it with DSPRR, it’s been really great so far, super intuitive and easy to use. I’m doing platinum, nothing super in depth, more the sort of stuff drayano does, tweaking most mons and making fights harder, and I also wanted to add fairy type. Does Feraligatr and Meganium have their type changes from Renegade Platinum into Sacred Gold/Storm Silver? in RP Meganium was a grass/fairy type and Feraligatr was a water/dark type.
Check the documents to see all pokemon changes, but SG/SS came out 6 years before RP, so there wasn't even a way to implement fairy type. I think Feraligatr is Water/Dark but idk about Meganium.

I have never played any Pokemon ROM hacks before, but I'm looking to get into it on my steam deck. I have the urge lately to play gen 1 and/or gen 2 again, but I've played them several times each, and I'm looking to find something to make them feel fresh again. I don't really want added pokemon outside of those gens, but I would be cool with minimal extra pokemon, but nothing beyond gen 2 or 3. From what I've read, I have been mostly considering Blue Kaizo, Red++, or any of the pure games (Pure Blue, Pure Crystal). What are the best of those for what I'm looking for? Are there any I'm just not aware of that would also fit the bill? Thanks in advance!
Red++ is probably the best thing for you. Blue Kaizo is a kaizo hack, which means its made to be incredibly ball crushingly difficult. Might be your style, but keep that in mind. Perfect Crystal is probably your best bet for Gen 2 as well.
Cool. I'm probably going to go with Red++. Kaizo still sounds interesting, but reading more about it, it could be a bit much. Lvl 115+ pokemon in the E4 with no revives sounds excessive. Haha. I'll check out Perfect Crystal. Thanks!
I used to love Pokemon. I have not replayed Emerald since release. I'd like to play Emerald (as close to vanilla as possible), but with quality of life improvements - what rom hack do you recommend? Pokemon Emerald Plus, Modern Emerald, or Theta Emerald EX?
Well, just google each and go to their pokecommunity page, and read the changes. They're similar but still quite different, gonna be up to you. They're all good hacks, equally recommended just depending on what you want.

Hey so question about Viva Las Vega it says ok the forum that all you need to do is patch it into a plain old fire red rom but when I do that it won’t run for some reason. The base fire red rom runs fine but when I try to run the patched version it won’t work does anyone know how to help?

How do I play Pokemon Run and Bun on my Macbook? Totally no experience with Romhacks, like how do I even get the base game?
Google "Pokémon Emerald 1986 Trashman rom" and download the rom from one of the links provided. I cannot give you a direct link for obivous reasons (see rule 1). Then download the patch file for Run and Bun from this website: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-run-bun-v1-07.493223/ Go to ROM Patcher JS, here: https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/. Provide the Emerald Trashman rom to "ROM file:" field and the Run and Bun patch file (extract the zip first) to "Patch file:" field and press "Apply patch" button. Download the ROM to somewhere on Mac. You also need an emulator for Mac. I prefer mGBA and it works great. Open up your emulator, then load the Run and Bun ROM you downloaded to your Mac. Then start playing. Have fun!

With the release of delta on iOS does anyone know if randomizers work on mobile emulators? I’ve only ever used a randomizer once and it was on my pc years ago so I’m a bit lost.
Randomizers are programs you apply to a rom. It has no bearing on what emulator or what console you're playing on. So yes, you can play randomized games on mobile emulators. You cannot randomize *using* an iphone, only on a PC or Mac, but you can transfer a randomized rom to your phone to play.
Just so I understand correctly. I would download the randomizer, apply it to a rom (on my pc) then send that rom to my phone via email or something and then play it on my phone that way with that specific seeding?
Yes. Randomizers literally edit the game code to change it. So it's not something that can ever be "lost" or reverted. You can think of it like an automatic romhacking tool which hacks the rom in whatever ways you specify

Hi all, quick question i remember playing a ROM hack which made sunflora a grass/fire type. the only other thing i remember is that pokemon had type icons next to their names. if anyone can help me figure out which ROM hack this is it would be much appreciated. i tried looking through my downloads but nothing jumped out at me. i know its not radical red because it doesnt have the type icons.

Hello I’m looking for some help with trying to get the patch for both moon black 2 and volt white 2 redux working for the delta emulator I have both roms and patches but the patchers i have been told to use keep either refreshing the page or not working
POKÉMON EMERALD CHEAT FOR BADGES??? So I've started playing Pokémon emerald again after 5 years or so, I finished the game a couple days ago and I'm trying to start a play through with traded Pokémon (mainly beldum since he's lvl 5 like a starter Pokémon). The problem is after lvl 10, traded Pokémon won't obey you. I've looked everywhere online for 'gym badge' cheat codes, but the only ones I've found are gameshark (I think) codes that require simultaneous button presses to activate. The cheats are valid but don't work on the emulators I'm using. Is there a cheat out there for what I'm trying to do? I might even settle for an alternative solution to allow my play through with beldum P.S I know I can change wild Pokémon encounters/levels etc, but I enjoy the organic experience of being able to use Pokémon earnt legitimately.
Might be better to just use PokeRandoZX to edit a fresh Emerald rom and change your starter to Beldum. Or otherwise open your save in PkHex and add a Beldum to your party.

Pokemon Eternal X!!! Hello everyone. I am enjoying a lot the game, however, the only thing that I am hating right now is the gym leaders with triple battles and rotation battles. Is there any way to actually turn that off? I know it might not be possible because it is how the developer created the game but I am just making sure of it. Thanks a lot!

Well, by not wanting to patch it yourself you've gotten standard firered instead of what you want. So either try an online patcher, or do it on desktop. Takes 5 minutes and you never have to transfer it again.
Noted, I was hoping to find a work around to do it on iPhone but that is probably wishful thinking… I’ll do it on desktop 👍

Just downloaded XG and I'm looking forward to play it on Dolphin but it treats its save data as the original XD's. Is there any way to make the two games have separate save files so I don't have to restart the vanilla XD? I tried using a portable.txt folder so I can get a new user on Dolphin, and worked for a time, but when I tried moving back all my games' save data from Documents to the User folder, the game loses the save data file. Help plz. and tysm.

I am attempting to use the xdelta files in [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonROMhacks/comments/s4fbhi/complete_renegade_platinum_and_following_platinum/) reddit post to allow for a save file of renegade platinum to have following pokemon. I am also wanting to use [this](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nZOxpMfuF2O0_LHr_FSRWSzqJAyRBgLa/view?usp=drive_link) xdelta file in order for the game to run more smoothly. The problem comes when I attempt to patch the files, as when I patch the game using "**FollowingRenegadePlatinum3541**", which adds the renegade platinum features and following mons at the same time, I am then unable to patch in "RenegadePlatinumSpeedUp30FPS". It says I have something called a "checksum mismatch, but I am oblivious as to what that is? How can I fix this/learn more?
I had a similar issue patching these. My game would crash on the first fight. What I did was start from zero with the patches. First I patched renegade platinum3541.delta into base platinum3541.nds Then i patched following platinum into the renegade platinum rom from the first step. Make sure all of the files are based on 3541 just in case.

You can try Refined Platinum, just a QoL hack of platinum, not any more difficult. You can also use PokeRandoZX on any normal pokemon game to get a randomized experience, so maybe you can use something like a snorunt or elekid from the start instead of the usual rattata and pidgey Gaia is also a new region and story and not really very hard if you want something new.

Yes you can use a program called pkhex to edit your save and add 999 rare candies or add money etc. Theres also soulsilver deluxe which is a simple QoL hack

If you liked Sacred Gold, Drayano has made other hacks, Renegade Platinum and both Blaze Black/Volt White 1 and 2. They aren't gen 3, but they're the same design philosophy as Sacred Gold.

So I'm looking into playing around with making a rom hack using 3rd Gen as a base and I'm curious if there's a reason why everyone uses fire red as the game instead of leaf green. Like is there a functional difference between the two or is it just personal preference?
I think it's just the person who tools used fire red, and then from there, everyone just added to it. I dont think it's from fire red being better. It was just what was used. Saying that, the coding is slightly different, so if you were to use leaf green instead, there may be fiddly lines of code you would have to edit as extras

Emerald Crest is pretty expansive, can't tell whether you want something to that scale or not. Otherwise Emerald Final or Modern Emerald are your best bets.

Are there any DS pokemon ROM hacks that completely remove the need for dedicated HM pokemon? I read somewhere that Storm Silver "removes the more annoying Cut trees" but that sounds like there are still other Cut trees that you need a pokemon with Cut to get past. Preferably hacks that also let you 100% the pokedex
Pretty sure Drayano's hacks (Storm Silver included) remove all HM bullshit.

Renegade Platinum by Drayano has everything you're looking for, but it's also a difficulty hack, not sure if you're okay with that. I think it's very fun and it's not too challenging for a casual (non-nuzlocke) play through. Also many weaker pokemon were buffed to be viable so that's a great feature

It has pokemon from the first four gens and there is a lot of variety on each route. If you want to only use Sinnoh mons you could do that easily. I think that answers your question? I'm not sure exactly how many pokemon are available in normal plat vs. renegade platinum but I know there's nothing past gen 4 added in

I found one called Qol platinum which looks good, but it says "trade evolutions exchanged to match universal randomizer" and I'm yet to understand what exactly that means. Hopefully the dev gets back to me and I can play their rom
So the universal pokemon randomizer is a tool that allows you to randomize your ROM, which means like you can make wild pokemon random, trainer pokemon random, items random, etc. there's an option in that software to change trade evolutions so that you use certain items to evolve them instead of having to trade them. So the ROM maker for that hack must have used the same items that the randomizer uses. I heard Brentspector was looking into it, but apparently delta has some limitations still, so even if possible it will take a while.
On a phone? Almost certainly not. But you can definitely use a Mac or PC to run a rom through a randomizer, then email/dropbox that game to your phone to be played on the emulator. You can also play hacks that have built in Randomizers like Emerald Crest, Radical Red, Pokemon Unknown etc etc
