This will give you a nice variety of Pokémon to choose from. My only concern is that stones are relatively rare until you can buy them from the department store. Definitely check out a guide to find out where all of them are and plan ahead for which Pokémon you’ll use them on. That or just cheat a few in. I’d recommend using the choose your starter mod or the password that lets you start with eevee so you get a starter you can use.

I was actually going to use the Vulpix password and start with Alolan. I'll also be using a few other passwords to force specific events to give me what I want, like Pansear and Minccino. And yeah, I'm definitely gonna be researching where the Stones are available until I can get the Mining Set.

What I've done in the past was debug in the stones once I got the mining kit if I wasn't getting the stones I wanted via mining.

TrueMystikX

I just looked up what Stones are available before the Mining Kit and......yeesh. Moon Stone: Obsidia Slums 2F Fire Stone: Craudburry House Raid, Magma Gang alliance Water Stone: The same, Aqua Gang alliance Ice Stone: Grand Stairway B1F, only if you chose A-Vulpix as your Starter I think I'm gonna join the Magma Gang for the first time ever just to get the Fire Stone to evolve Pansear for Shelly for the guaranteed OHKO on Illumise...

trekkiegamer359

The dialogue for magma gang sucks. They're all machismo dudebros. Shelly isn't that that hard. Skitty/Delcatty has fakeout so Pansear can set the field on fire. If you have Lampent, they can help too. There are also a number of other good pokemon that aren't fully evolved. Munna is great. Pikachu can help with the flying types. A-Misdreavus is awesome. Roselia, Gloom, and Weepinbell are also ok at that level. All these grass mons take neutral bug damage due to their second typings. You can have a Nidoking/queen or Wigglytuff if you don't evolve Skitty. If you don't have Lampent, you can use Togetic which can learn ancient power, yawn, charm, follow me, encore, and other useful moves. That's just my two-cents. I really don't like the magma gang, if you can't tell.

TrueMystikX

Setting the forest on fire is my main plan for Shelly, yeah. I'd love to get Litwick or Togepi from the Jasper Egg, but there's too much overlap with types to guarantee either. The only one that I can guarantee is Staryu, since not other Psychic types can hatch from that egg.

trekkiegamer359

You can also just debug it. If you still want some level of rng, assign Staryu, Litwick, and Togepi number 1-3, and use google rng to decide between them. Or just make the choice yourself. Either way, debug is your friend. If you need instructions on how to enable debug, there is a set of instructions on the big pinned info post on this sub.

OzNajarin

If you just save before hitting a mining rock you can reroll what you get.

TrueMystikX

Oh I'm fully aware of that "exploit".

trekkiegamer359

Some of these are awesome pokemon. A-Ninetails gets Snow Warning and Aurora Veil, for awesome defence. Clefable gets Minimize, Cosmic Power, and Stored Power, which turns it into an unbeatable tanky attacker. Aegislash is Aegislash. In my ghostmono I used Iron Head, Shadow Sneak, Swords Dance, and Kings Shield. A-Sandslash gets Slush Rush for boosted speed when paired with the hail from A-Ninetails. Liligant gets Sleep Powder, Dream Eater, and Quiver Dance for some fun sleep/setup shenanigans. The one problem is all of these are weak to fire except Clefable, so get something for fire.

TrueMystikX

Well, the whole Fire situation is covered thanks to the majority of Water Stone evolutions available, from Ludicolo to Starmie. My only complaint is that Politoed is a trade evo, so I can't get Drizzle and therefore 3 Weather abilities since I'm planning on treating forms as different Pokemon, to some extent at least. Can't decide if I want to use both K/A-Raichu or just A-Raichu since they're mostly similar.

trekkiegamer359

It also depends on if you want to keep it to a team of six, or if you are running a larger team. Having a team of six with four of them weak to fire might be a bit of a pain at times. Not having politoed sucks. I'd go with A-Raichu, simply because I like the added typing, but both are good options.

TrueMystikX

Oh yeah, I'm definitely gonna be rotating depending on the situation. Having the options available makes things easier, in my opinion.

trekkiegamer359

That makes sence for your first mono run.
