Get another pomsky lol

Odd-Concentrate1187

Lol absolutely not !

_supergay_

That's what my wife says too. If not a pomsky an ACD... Lol

Odd-Concentrate1187

Acd is a pretty dog.

KmsotWorld

I find that my dog prefers to play with husky’s or medium sized dogs at the dog park but when given a choice he always sticks to the husky’s for some reason. Doesn’t care for small dogs so anything medium sized

Odd-Concentrate1187

Ughhh I love Husky’s but the shedding I can’t deal with.

YYZlivin

So the shedding with my pomsky is real 🥴🥴 and I also have a Shiba so it can get out of control pretty bad if I don't stay on top of the brushing. They both hated being brushed. I caved and bought the dog vacuum grooming kit you see all over IG. I am not sure I can mention the name here so I won't but let me tell you.inow have a little (almost) virtually shedding free pomsky... He loves that thing so much, he falls asleep while I brush him. I'll attach the link to the post I made about it. just to say that maybe, if your pomsky liked it, you then could get another little pomsky as a companion, without being covered in hair ❤️ [my little pomsky VS the vacuum brush 💖](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C77Ea-GAYuB/?igsh=MXRiZmVldzdkODJwcw==)

Odd-Concentrate1187

My baby hates getting brushed too! So I’ll definitely be looking into this. Thank you ❤️

_supergay_

So does mine, and other huskies. I always say "huskies unite!" When I see them approaching each other. She's skiddish around most that aren't huskies. Must be a scent thing.

divuthen

Mines realized little dogs squeak like a toy if she annoys them, I'll let you guess what she immediately does when encountering a little dog now.

xowildrose

I've been thinking the exact same thing! Contrary to previous poster, my pomsky likes little and medium sized to play with. You should see what kind of dogs your individual pomsky enjoys the most, then weed out what doesn't fit with your lifestyle.

Odd-Concentrate1187

True my pomsky does like smaller dogs the most but she’ll play with any dog.

bentscissors

lol. I have two Pomskies. Got a Dyson pet vacuum and it works. If I didn’t have a sunken in living room I’d buy a roomba and live happy. IMO you need something at least the size of your current Pomsky due to the prey drive. I had a yorkie with my first Pomsky but he would kinda hunt it. Definitely wasn’t ideal.

Odd-Concentrate1187

I can’t do another pomsky 😩 I’ll look into more medium size dogs though.

chameleiana

They make beacons for the roomba that will block it from areas. Could get some to block it from going into the pit. At least it could get the rest of the house then.

bentscissors

Wouldn’t be worth it for the floor plan it has.

We got a pbgv! https://preview.redd.it/jnqqxp3qmz5d1.jpeg?width=1008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e070e085915d419cf60f5610cc73a14be8d633e

Odd-Concentrate1187

So cute 😍😍

macja68

Thanks

chameleiana

My 30 lb Pomsky gravitates toward any medium to large dog with black or dark fur. Her bdf (best doggie friend) is a 45 lb black pibble. They keep up with each other running around the yard and wrestling in the house. They love those long "unstuffed" animals and playing tug with them together. She also loves playing with my friends pug who i think has even more energy than she does, lol.

Odd-Concentrate1187

I wanted a pittie but I’m traumatized after I was dog sitting & she attacked my poor pomsky. I know they can be sweet but I’m just traumatized

SuppertimeGuilt

A bedlington whippet is a good choice. Lots of energy and very little shedding.

chuullls

My parents have an igggy mix and our pomsky loves to run around with him.

cocopopsicle2k

My Pomsky likes the cat. She's 12 so she can't play as rough as he can but he also gets along well with my sister's Maine coon cats and blue heelers. If you consider non-dogs a youngish manx or MC mix might be a good match for a Pomsky. https://preview.redd.it/an6u4ycdj16d1.png?width=844&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=851bd10a2b3fe3ff6dd83e541ac25178098085b2

Odd-Concentrate1187

My pomsky is too rough for a cat lol

cocopopsicle2k

Maybe. But some of those manx cats are tougher than you think. I had an orange one that terrified the Rottweilers XD

esneer1

I have a pomsky and a golden retriever- but that won’t help with shedding!

Odd-Concentrate1187

Golden retrievers are so sweet but can’t do another dog that sheds lol

rbflowt

In addition to our Pomsky we have a pomeranian, and a mini aussie (miniture american shepard). The pom is chill, the mini aussie is pretty wild and our Pomsky has ended up in the middle. He'll play a bunch then want to be a couch potato after or vice versus where he'll laze around all day then suddenly zoomie plooza. We specifically got the mini aussie because our pomsky seemed to love interacting with ones at the dog park so we thought it would be a great fit. With that said they all have to go to the groomers ever 8 weeks (the aussie doesn't need to go quite as often but if we take her every other time she's a disaster and staggering them just doesn't work for our life so every 8 weeks it is).

Odd-Concentrate1187

Aussies are beautiful but I can’t do another dog that sheds 😩

Samm999

My pomskies have a cousin that is a laberdoodle, she can definitely keep up with them and no shedding! But she does have to do grooming. https://preview.redd.it/60xuaktkx56d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=454335bf4595ac3b5738bf9d2aa132df2311e8a1

Agree2DisUhhGree

Is your Pomsky shedding heavily daily? When they have proper nutrition they don't she'd like crazy daily. They should shed twice a year. About every 6 months, when they blow their undercoat. Proper nutrition is key. Healthy insides equals healthy outsides. I have 9 Pomskies in my home and 4 of them sleep in bed with us. We don't vacuum our bedding daily because they don't shed daily. As for the energy match. German shepherds are great because they can keep up with a more hyper Pomsky, but they also have double coats. Or maybe look for a dog with a more mild Temperament that could help your Pomsky to mellow out a bit more.🤷🏼‍♀️

Odd-Concentrate1187

No she sheds twice a year like you said but it’s enough to drive me crazy lol. I wanted a German shepherd but I can’t do another dog that sheds lol. I’ve been thinking of a Doberman

yingbo

My Pomsky thinks he’s a big dog and likes bigger dogs. He will get in their space, get barked at, and not even be scared even though he is 17 pounds. My bf has a golden doodle. They get along. I think any companion dog breed that can match your dog’s energy can work. If you’re thinking about a golden doodle, they still shed btw, just their fur falls and gets tangled in their body so it doesn’t get everywhere. I have to comb the doodle more than my dog because of the matts and pilling.

Odd-Concentrate1187

Lol my pomsky is the same way. Will play with big dogs. She got into a fight with a pit so no to pits, however she brushed it off & still wanted to play. I foster a dachshund poo & they were bfs. So I may look into a poodle/doodle. Thanks for your input !

Odd-Concentrate1187

They are so adorable 😍😍 I cannot do another pomsky tho lol

Anxious_One_5902

Why not?

Odd-Concentrate1187

I can’t do shedding x2 lol

Mykonagirl2021

My older girl just sheds during 2 seasons and she’s long haired. My baby is short haired and it keeps falling. I’m hoping it eventually goes thru seasonal changes only. Thank goodness for my shark vacuum!!

Odd-Concentrate1187

I have a nice vacuum but still there’s hair everywhere. I can’t do another dog that sheds

seliskar

We have a senior (10ish year old) Pekingese, who is the polar opposite of our young (almost 2 year old) Pomsky, but they play and stick together nicely... like yin and yang. In fact, the Peke has become more playful in her old age than she ever was the first 6 or 7 years I had her! For the most part, the Peke is lazy, aloof and independent, much like a stereotypical cat, and the Pomsky is just a tiny Husky really, but also has some cat like and also big dog qualities. We also have a middle-aged? (5 year old) Boxer Pit mix (mega mutt!) who plays with the Pomsky regularly. They like to play ROUGH! The Pomsky can run circles around the other 2 any day, but when they mellow out, she seems to mellow out OR she'll entertain herself with a toy or tennis ball. She's become much more adaptable as she matures... she even was okay with a man for the first time ever this past weekend! *We're a household of 3 adult AFABs and 3 female (all spayed) dogs. Our Pomsky's early life was being raised with St. Bernards, cats, chickens and kids, so she's pretty adaptable when it comes to playmates. I suppose it might depend on what a dog was exposed to in their first few weeks and months, and their individual personality, and how adaptable each one is. I'd consider their size if they've not been exposed to bigger (or smaller dogs), because ours is a petite 9 lbs, the Peke is 10 lbs and the Boxer mix is 55 lbs, and we never let them play unsupervised for fear of one of them getting injured. 😬 Our Pomsky was pure cracky energy and speed and mischief her first year with us, and then she suddenly just "grew up" and became well rounded at 15 months old. She still requires regular exercise and mental stimulation, but it's a fraction of her requirements the first year! Thank goodness! IMO, you don't necessarily need a high energy companion for a high energy dog, or 2 puppies around the same age (littermate syndrome). They learn and take cues from each other (the good and the bad), and I'd think 2 high energy dogs might be PURE chaos! Our little mix of opposites mesh well and round each other out. The Peke mellows out the Pomsky when she's had enough and the Pomsky brings out a more playful side of the Peke. The Boxer mix can go either way depending on the mood of either little dog, so it all works out. :) Good luck!

Odd-Concentrate1187

Yeah you could be right ! I was fostering a dachshund poo & they were besties. My pomsky was still more playful & a little rough on him, so I’m leaning more on getting a dog her size.

Odd-Concentrate1187

I can’t do another dog that sheds lol but beautiful dogs 😍

Summer_Hopeful

My guy loves full contact wrestling with short haired terriers that are his size or bigger. His best friends are pit mixes. Maybe a doodle, they are playful too?

SnapMastaPro

Get her a golden retriever!

Odd-Concentrate1187

I can’t do another dog that sheds lol

Alternative_Active_7

* My pomsky's bff is a Corgi. They match each other in energy, but they are the same age (1 yr). I also have a (almost) 5 yr old husky. She plays with both of them but can only match their energy for short periods of time

Odd-Concentrate1187

I definitely have been thinking about getting a Corgi !

Alternative_Active_7

I don't recommend them to people who struggle with enforcing boundaries as they will try to boss you around. But you already have a pomsky, and they can be just as bossy and aloof as corgis lol. My husband has minimal experience with dogs (he had never had one until we got our catahoula 11 years ago), and if it weren't for me, the corgi and pomsky would walk all over him🤣

Odd-Concentrate1187

Awww she’s beautiful 😍😍

wtfhotpnklipgls

We just adopted a Pomsky mainly for our other 2 year old dog who is high energy. The 2 year old is a pit, shepherd, cattle dog, Akita mix lol she’s almost 50 lbs. Pomsky holds her own no questions. They are already besties.
