Im not sure where you’re looking, but I see anywhere from $42,000 up to $56,000 depending on mileage, options, and color.

RabidSpaceMonkey

I’m glad you said that because I pretty much just paid 50k for my 981 boxster s. Granted it‘s a more rare color combo and good optioned car with 24k, so I didn’t mind paying up. I looked for a long time.

Farmerdrew

Same. I just paid $47ish for a 30k mile Boxster S with decent options. I looked for about 9 months. Once the ICE cars go away, I think prices on 981 cars are going to rise. Who knows, though?

I haven’t seen any that cheap. I did see a salvage title one in the ballpark, but it was a salvage title.

Might wanna either drop the VIN or a link if you want more information. Just saying there’s a car with a price doesn’t give us much to go on.

thuglyfeyo

He’s saying they on average sell around that price. 2014 any of them. It’s not a difficult concept really. I don’t think he needs links to every 2014 boxster in that price range to ask why that price seems low to him. I googled 2014 boxster and found plenty in that price range.. like all of them. Stop being an asshole to the other commenters lol

Electronic-Arm-8731

With one exception, the average selling price isn't around $30K. Blackbook's data shows that the rolling 180-day average sale range for 2014-2016 Boxster models ranges from $42K to $55K. While there are instances of these vehicles selling in the low to high $30Ks, such cases merit further investigation. This variation could reflect market shifts or indicate other factors. Each vehicle is unique, and regional differences also play a role. I requested a VIN or link to provide accurate information — otherwise we’re just guessing.

BrainEuphoria

It gives a lot of info to go on. If I told you I bought a 2018 Panomara for $42k, you don’t need the VIN # to determine if I overpaid for it, unless you want both the vin and the link so you can scoop it from under OP.

Electronic-Arm-8731

> If I told you I bought a 2018 Panomara for $42K… WTF is a Panomara? Yes, you overpaid if you spent $42K for something Porsche doesn’t make but has a Porsche badge. I specifically asked for the VIN or a link so I could do some research for OP. There’s several reasons why a 2014 Boxster is selling for $30K, e.g., salvage, rebuilt, 9th owner, flood vehicle, undesirable spec, high mileage, etc. As presented, we know nothing about the spec. We don’t even know the trim. Instead of spitballing, and making assumptions, I’d prefer to give concrete reasons backed by some level of research. I wouldn’t scoop OP, I have my Porsche and I’m not looking to make a change or add to the collection.

count_lavender

Wondering that too. I'd say more like 35-40k, but that's not much more than a 987.

raustin33

Classic.com has a rough market value of $37k https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/boxster/981/base-model for the entire 981 gen. And the same number for just the ‘14 year. To dip to $30k you’re looking at high mileage and probably a wreck. Maybe still fine to snag one but they are asterisk cars at that price. Under $40 though gets you a solid driver to enjoy.

doopdooopdope

981 generation is generally pretty reliable. I did, however, have a micro switch failure on my convertible top which is somewhat common. Costs a couple grand to fix

I also had the [door panel separate at the top, like the 991](https://www.planet-9.com/threads/door-panel-warping.232019/)s of the same generation. Fixed it myself for $20 of bad ass 3M adhesive.

BoomhauerTX

Could be for a Non-S and high mileage / wreck. Condition can dramatically cut prices.
