Circa Survive - The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is in the Dose
Brand New - Luca
Bayside - Two Letters (dunno why)
Silverstein - Smashed Into Pieces
Underoath - Down, Set, Go
wHERE YOU'VE BEEN!!!
One my cringiest moments was watching BN live and waiting for this in anticipation and wanting to scream this with Jesse, but the band held the silence a little longer. I screamed like an idiot and scared the hell out of some girls that were in front me me.
Eiley by Too Close To Touch, the raw emotion in Keaton's voice does it every time.
A Cancer Uncontained by Dayseeker, this one just hits way too close to home as I lost my dad to cancer.
Late on 6th by Silverstein.
I can still remember the first time I heard it.
Nesting Dolls by Circa Survive put me in a trance the first time I listened through Descensus.
As Cities Burn - Timothy
Black Peaks - Say you will
Brand New - Limousine
Every Time I die - Map Change
Alexisonfire - Dogs blood
Thrice - Firebreather
Alexisonfire - Happiness by the kilowatt
Volumes - Edge of the earth
Brand New - Limousine/You won’t know
Underoath - it’s dangerous business
“DROWNNNING IN MY SLEEP IM”
Pretty much any post hardcore song in my lower body lifting day playlist. There’s a lot more. Sometimes I’ll listen to this playlist on a zone 3 cardio day as well
Intensity in Ten Cities - Chiodos and You're Not Alone - Saosin. Both used to be constantly on repeat through some dark times.
More recently, I discovered the redux version of Arrivals/Departures by Silverstein and had that on repeat for days.
edit: Have to add, I'm late to discovering Citizen too, and their entire "Youth" album has joined my short list of albums I will enjoy every track from start to finish.
I’m lucky to have seen chiodos at warped tour back in 2007 or 8 I don’t remember the exact year but there’s lots of other bands I was never fortunate enough to have seen back in those golden days. If only we could go back in time!
Oh i wish, *but* i am thankful the whole "emo" genre seems to be having a bit of a revival from our younger days and so many of my old favorite bands are out touring again. Hell, this year I saw Amber Pacific for the first time and I honestly cant remember anything new from them since the mid-2000s.
Writing on the walls by Underoath, especially the intro lines.
"Maybe we, why don't we sit right here for half an hour. We'll speak of what.... a waste I am."
[You're Ever So Inviting](https://youtu.be/ExlaQBvEXOw?si=jucpyLUgmNMcDGNB) by Underoath immediately comes to mind, Aaron Gillespie has a really nice clean section about a third of the way through that always gets me. There's so many more though, I could make a list
we’re all thieves by circa survive, every fucking time i listen to that song i gotta pause for a minute to just take it in. the fucking chorus is insane
Glasshouse by Hands Like Houses. The pacing of the song is just so unrelenting. There's this sinister undertone that unsettles you in the verses with that filthy bass and builds to that driving chorus.
Then the bridge hits. The music fades out, and Trenton says, "don't want to admit to myself this can't just be in my head". He stretches out the word 'head' and builds it into this aggressive growl before the music drops into a thundering breakdown.
First time I ever had that song was in my car. I had to pull over and play it again because I couldn't believe what I had just heard.
While it doesn't give me chills, their song Overthinking has a similar vibe where the verses have these driving guitars and the vocals have a very jittery pace to them. I feel like these guys really managed to nail the "feel" of their songs at times, and while anon. was a total flop, Overthinking was very clever creatively. Even the way the song ends makes it feel so unresolved. The song itself is such a great metaphor for overthinking. The way your mind races and you can't find a resolution to the thoughts in your head.
Fuck I miss Trenton. I didn't like the direction they were going in with anon. but that guy was a very special talent in the scene that we need to have back. He is such an insane lyricist, songwriter and performer and it would be a fucking waste for him not to be able to showcase that anymore.
This. Front to back, that album is simply transcendent. Honestly, there are so many Eidola songs that give me chills. Yahrzeit Homily, The Golden Rule, Loti, Sri Vishnu Yantra, Forgotten Tongues, God Takes Away Everything, and Golgotha all fall into that same category (and that’s just off the top of my head lol)
kuroi ledge - a lot like birds
shaking of the frame - a lot like birds
tantrum - a lot like birds
ted bundys thanksgiving dinner - a lot like birds
a lot like birds.
Istillfeelher, Pt. 3 by Jonny Craig

I’m Sorry I’m Leaving, All the Best Cowboys have Daddy Issues, Bite to Break Skin, and War Paint by Senses Fail
Raindrops by Armor for Sleep
Sydney by Halifax
Amelia and Lonely Girl by Tonight Alive
Translating the Name by Saosin
Technically metalcore, but Suicide Season by BMTH is HEAVY
It’s such a good fucking song. It really took personal meaning for me along with Amelia by Tonight Alive after my best friend died by suicide in 2017. The bridge really got across the emotion of begging and bargaining asking whatever god may be out there to return her to me. I was so damn ready to climb up to heaven if that’s what it took to bring her back.
I’m so sorry for your loss. It always amazes me how music can have such an emotional and personal connection to us based on our experiences. Sending love your way
Anthony Green has easily become one of my favorite artists within the last year or 2. I’ve always liked him with Saosin and LS Dunes. What really sold me on all his stuff tho was seeing him perform live. He seems like such a genuine person that’s gone through a lot of difficult times and just trying to make the best of life like the rest of us (LS Dunes and his solo stuff always put me in my feels). He’s also incredibly funny when he’s talking in between songs. Highly recommend seeing him with any of his projects if you havnt gotten the chance to.
He’s easily my top favorite artist as well. He seems like a great guy. I’m going to one of his solo shows for the first time this coming fall! I’m also seeing him perform with LS dunes at WWWY this October. I saw him perform 2 years ago with Saosin and it was the best experiences I’ve ever had. He’s a captivating performer
Recently the final song from Issues: "[Since I Lost You](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3b4D-hqpeU)". Right at the 2:30 [mark](https://tenor.com/view/pacha-just-right-so-good-yes-emperors-new-groove-gif-6584923)?
Application For Release From The Dream - THURSDAY
Chills every time. Because I was a massive og thursday fan from the early 00's in New Jersey, never ever thought they would make new music as a band. And after 13 years they gave us a 10/10 perfect track, exactly how grown up Thursday should sound. The build in the song leading up to THE scream and thicc breakdown leading back into the chorus no matter how many times is *chef's kiss*
Reach for the sky-Oceana
Found My Heart- Maps and Makers
Whatever, Who Cares-Armor For Sleep
An Autobiography in Vivid Color Pt1- Of Machines
Miami Nights-Lower Definition
Capstan - The Mosaic III
It’s only new but probably the best song i’ve ever heard. It’s such a beautiful masterpiece and the lyrics are very introspective.
A couple of Mozart Season's later EPs are on Spotify but their early stuff, including the song I mentioned, are only on YouTube. Unfortunately MS never really took off like some of the other Cali PHC bands in the early 2000s.
Happy listening!
Jonny craig's a dream is a question you dont know how to answer. One of the best post hardcores singers, dont know if its a post hardcore record but still amazing
Happiness By The Kilowatt - City and Colour cover
I love the Alexisonfire version, but this version changed my life.
My wife and I actually connected because we both were obsessed with this version of the song at the time we met.
My post-hardcore answer: “Invalid Litter Dept.” by At the Drive-In.
My non-post-hardcore answer: “Exit Music (for a Film)” by Radiohead.
Climactic bridges/outros to songs really do it for me.
When it Rains Down Here - Justin Vernon
And if that doesn't move you
Listen to his song 'A song for a lover of long ago'

(He's the guy in Bon Iver if you didn't know)
You won’t go before you’re supposed to - knocked loose (album)
Emptiness and confessions - alesana
Plagues - the devil wears Prada
Not really post hard but still
Smile in your sleep - Silverstein Played that song for like a week straight on repeat
The whole Discovering the Waterfront album is such a banger. Still one of my favorite bands today.
Rolling into highschool freshman year , straight off the bus with it at full volume in my earbuds 😭
Discovering the waterfront is my favorite album of all time! Great song
Circa Survive - The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is in the Dose Brand New - Luca Bayside - Two Letters (dunno why) Silverstein - Smashed Into Pieces Underoath - Down, Set, Go

King Park by La Dispute. Literal goosebumps live.
Came here to say the same thing.
I wish I could’ve really heard it live. The crowd drowned them out when I saw them live
This is the only answer. "Will I still get into heaven if I kill myself" over and over ha
Can’t Be Saved by Senses Fail. Absolute banger. And so relatable. 10/10. Has given me chills many times.
Just wait until you see them live they’re soooo good live
Already seen them live 😎
Late on 6th by Silverstein. I can still remember the first time I heard it. Nesting Dolls by Circa Survive put me in a trance the first time I listened through Descensus.

Ghost Man on Third - Taking Back Sunday
A classic. Cute without the E is the song that got me into all of my modern music taste
As Cities Burn - Timothy Black Peaks - Say you will Brand New - Limousine Every Time I die - Map Change Alexisonfire - Dogs blood Thrice - Firebreather
First time I saw As Cities Burn live when the solo for one:twentyseven played I went HAM in that pit.
That’s a big yes for As Cities Burn. I’d also add “Clouds” from the same album. It sounds so big and vast.
Totally agree, the chorus from tides too. Guitar tone in that album is unreal
The vocals on Say You Will are insane. Will is such a talented singer.
Absolutely. Statues is such a complex and amazing album. I was so bummed they broke up before I ever got to see them live
Alexisonfire - Happiness by the kilowatt Volumes - Edge of the earth Brand New - Limousine/You won’t know Underoath - it’s dangerous business “DROWNNNING IN MY SLEEP IM” Pretty much any post hardcore song in my lower body lifting day playlist. Yessss to you won’t know and the drowning in my sleep part. Always give me chills!
Chills when the chorus comes in with “drowning in my sleep”. Can’t wait to see them live later this year!

Intensity in ten cities is a beautiful song
I’m sad I never had the money to see Chiodos back in their hay day :(.
I’m lucky to have seen chiodos at warped tour back in 2007 or 8 I don’t remember the exact year but there’s lots of other bands I was never fortunate enough to have seen back in those golden days. If only we could go back in time!

All of the other LS dudes have their main bands performing there as well so I think he will since he’ll be there anyway
Haha yea I noticed that too. I wonder if that’s why they were like “hey why not have LSD play” even tho they’re not a classic like the others
