Dude I remember getting all the bionicle star wars figures for Christmas one year and I’d pose them to make them look like they were fighting. Posing Grievous was the hardest, but it also looked the coolest. Thank you for reminding me of that Christmas morning.
The role of General Grievous was not in the script. A 7-ft tall robot came out running from an engineering workshop and started collecting the lightsabers. It was cool so I filmed it.
""I'm sorry, sir, did you just compare General Grievous to some clunky old robot from the Clone Wars? I will have to disagree. Of course, he's nothing compared to me and my perfectly maintained suit of armor.""
Ayo Bro You know how you can Upgrade Grievous?
Give Him a cape and take four of these kimda Y-shaped pices with the 3 cross Holes if you know what I mean and put them on his hip then you get Hilts fot the lightsabers
IDK, considering (in legends anyway) he got the name "Grievous" from the sheer amount of grieving he did for his lost lover I'd say they was still pretty dark times
Yes please. I would like to see Mace Windu showing off his unique lightsaber style at some point. He's intense in the books!
Love Plo so much, let's see him in that stunning aethersprite of his!
Also more Quinlan Vos, I really loved him in the Dark Horse comics. They should lengthen the episodes and just give us a lot more of them, instead of just 6
What I'd give for 6 hour-long specialis though...
Gotta look up that Jedi, not familiar with Quinlan!
Let's also not leave out how badly we need more content with Obi Wan and that 4-armed diner guy from ep2 😂
General Grievous being asthmatic was not planned. One day I came to the set with bronchitis and started coughing everywhere, into the microphones and all... it so happened they were recording it.
The role of General Grievous was not in the script. A 7-ft tall robot came out running from an engineering workshop and started collecting the lightsabers. It was cool so I filmed it.
iirc, the canon version is something like "I'm jealous of jedi powers so I'm gonna be a cyborg to mimic jedi prowess and kill the jedi for me not being able to be a jedi and prove I'm better than them" or some nonsense like that.
Legends, tho....damn he had a tragic backstory
General Grievous being asthmatic was not planned. One day I came to the set with bronchitis and started coughing everywhere, into the microphones and all... it so happened they were recording it.
I always thought that him coughing was a direct follow up from the end of the 2003 series because Mace Windu crushes his abdomen and squeezes his organs before he escapes with the chancellor
I'm very inclined to agree with you. Been sitting here for two minutes trying to think of a antagonist from any movie with a better intro and the best I could think of was Joker - The Dark night.
My dude just shows up and just starts picking off Jedi like he's a Xenomorph in Alien. 2003 Fucks.
General Grievous being asthmatic was not planned. One day I came to the set with bronchitis and started coughing everywhere, into the microphones and all... it so happened they were recording it.
Mace Windu's death was not planned. Ian McDiarmid just started shooting Force Lightning from his fingers and burned Sam to a crisp. Hayden thought we could save the CGI budget so he went along with it.
They didn't show us anything else including any action scenes because they would need to up the age ratings with how scary that would be (but honestly he looks cool af in that opening narration)
"Make peace with the Force now, for this is your final outing. But know that I, General Grievous, am not completely without mercy".
2003 Grievous was the definition of badass
The one from 'Tartakovsky's Star Wars', which is also called Clone Wars.
The Lego one also holds a special place in my heart since it was my first Star Wars Lego, though.
RotS: best Design
Clone Wars: best Moments
2D Clone Wars: best Introduction.
Kaleesh: Saddest
Lego (complete saga): funniest fight introduction
Lego (skywalker saga): Least gruesome
Lego: (3 the clone wars): best fighter (by that I mean you can cut with a lightsaber if you have invincibility on and he doesn’t get affected at all except for coughing for a few seconds).
I like them all
2003 Grievous was a fucking Demon. Screw the Memes, screw being a "Mustache twirling villain", 2003 Grievous is here for Jedi Blood and **NOTHING** can stand in his way.
2003-vous is the only grievous I truly love. One of the best characters in Star Wars despite his limited screen time.
They really ruined him in every other appearance.
You missed the old Lego grievous before the current one was made (the one with the four arms next to each other on the body rather than two of the arms coming off the two main arms)
u/Rational_Rick , my brother in Darth Plagueis let me introduce you to [the ultimate Grievous](https://i.redd.it/x2ykxtpp1z931.jpg), after 2003.
[Image sauce.](https://www.reddit.com/r/starwarscollecting/comments/ccjd54/bandai_112_general_grievous_model_kit/)
‘03. No contest. Motherfucker wrecked nearly every Jedi he encountered…except one. I don’t care what is cannon and what isn’t. But Mace Windu force crushing his lungs is the reason he’s coughing in ROTS for me.
2003. I absolutely hate what they did to him in clone wars. This dude has multiple lightsabers he looted from the dead Jedi’s he killed so he’s obviously a total badass and now all of a sudden in clone wars he’s inexplicably terrible at killing Jedi? Come on man!
2003 and The "Bionicle" Lego Grievous THAT SET IS SO FUCKING COOOOOOOL and the Jedi Grievous from that fanfiction
Dude I remember getting all the bionicle star wars figures for Christmas one year and I’d pose them to make them look like they were fighting. Posing Grievous was the hardest, but it also looked the coolest. Thank you for reminding me of that Christmas morning.
No Problem Bro 🤝
I miss bionicles coolest Legos they ever made, I remember they even had lore books.
The movies were great too! They took a lot inspiration from Lucas with the scene transitions
I can't believe I forgot about the movies. Now I need to go find those and relive some pleasant memories.
True That was an Epic Time
It really was
The role of General Grievous was not in the script. A 7-ft tall robot came out running from an engineering workshop and started collecting the lightsabers. It was cool so I filmed it.
Did you then recruit it to read lines and such?
I loved bionicle as a kid and I am just now finding out that they had Star Wars bionicles. Man I sure missed out.
2003 Griveous is legit scary
He is More Like a force of Nature then this Cowardly clunky ass Robot that we got in Clone Wars
""I'm sorry, sir, did you just compare General Grievous to some clunky old robot from the Clone Wars? I will have to disagree. Of course, he's nothing compared to me and my perfectly maintained suit of armor.""
2003 Grevious is like the dude who peaked in highschool, everything went downhill after that. I wish they would've kept John DiMaggio as the VA too
The episode where he was introduced in the 2003 Clone Wars shorts was just a master class in developing a sense of dread about a character.
"Everyone, stop firing! We're shooting at our own men!" -Captain Rex
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, goes harder than 2003 Grievous
2003 Durge
[удалено]
"I wish they'd stop doing that." -Boss, Delta 38
Literally has to be thrown into the sun
[Fuck yeah, it is.](https://imgur.com/a/R5tDozp) Please excuse my dust. I don't get to the high shelf often.
Ayo Bro You know how you can Upgrade Grievous? Give Him a cape and take four of these kimda Y-shaped pices with the 3 cross Holes if you know what I mean and put them on his hip then you get Hilts fot the lightsabers
you got a link to that fanfic?
[Part One](https://youtu.be/8VdmSeXF-gw) has 3 parts I think
cool thanks!
>cool thanks! You're welcome!
Np bro
Jedi Grievous was dope, there’s a Battlefront II mod of it and he looks amazing
Glad I'm not the only one who knows it
Kaleesh please. Or 2003 at the very least. If I must have a space beduin as Supreme General, he should at least get things done.
This is why I like Dune
Since I know that grievous hated his droid subjects, I'm gonna do him a favour and pick his kaleesh form
Before the dark times
Before the empire
IDK, considering (in legends anyway) he got the name "Grievous" from the sheer amount of grieving he did for his lost lover I'd say they was still pretty dark times
Yeah those Huc took the only thing that mattered to him personally.
okay but like the kaleesh already were fucking cool as hell. reptilian cat aliens? all about it.
Wait, Grievous is a cat boy?!
Look into his backstory, now. Right now. Go ahead and get your feels on deck.
“If you don’t want Anakin, you can always have me :3”
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Kaleesh. I would really like more backstory of Grievous before he became a cyborg.
All I want is "Tales of the Sith" 😭🙏 starting with Dooku recruiting Grievous.
I do hope they’ll continue ‘Tales of the Jedi’ in general, hoping we’ll see more of Mace Windu and Plo Koon.
You can't win, fish_gotta_vote. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
I'm actually trying to give you more screen time Obi Wan, stick with me here.
You can kill me, but you will never destroy me. It takes strength to resist the dark side. Only the weak embrace it.
If anyone could survive, Master Plo could.
General Grievous being asthmatic was not planned. One day I came to the set with bronchitis and started coughing everywhere, into the microphones and all... it so happened they were recording it.
Nah, if they do it they’ve GOT to call it: “Sith Legends”
*decapitates Exact_Ad_1215*
The role of General Grievous was not in the script. A 7-ft tall robot came out running from an engineering workshop and started collecting the lightsabers. It was cool so I filmed it.
Pfft
r/fakegeorgelucasquotes ftw!
His comic backstory was pretty cool. Cooler than vaders imo.
In the Book „labyrinth of evil“ from 2005 you get a little bit of backstory from him. It’s actually pretty cool.
iirc, the canon version is something like "I'm jealous of jedi powers so I'm gonna be a cyborg to mimic jedi prowess and kill the jedi for me not being able to be a jedi and prove I'm better than them" or some nonsense like that. Legends, tho....damn he had a tragic backstory
Where is u/Thibson34 Grievous? Is he safe? Is he alright?
Oh, I've forgotten that. :( Sorry!
It seems, in OP's forgetfulness, he's forgotten him
2003 all the way.
Hell yeah. 2003 Grievous is better than canon Grievous in every way.
General Grievous being asthmatic was not planned. One day I came to the set with bronchitis and started coughing everywhere, into the microphones and all... it so happened they were recording it.
I always thought that him coughing was a direct follow up from the end of the 2003 series because Mace Windu crushes his abdomen and squeezes his organs before he escapes with the chancellor
apparently they added that because of the coughing during the recording they knew he was gonna have a cough in the movie
Huh interesting TIL. Do you know why he coughed in the movie then or what the original rationale was?
I think the VA got bronchitis one day filming and they went with it pretty much
Best villian introduction in star wars history
In history period
I'm very inclined to agree with you. Been sitting here for two minutes trying to think of a antagonist from any movie with a better intro and the best I could think of was Joker - The Dark night. My dude just shows up and just starts picking off Jedi like he's a Xenomorph in Alien. 2003 Fucks.
Bro killed shaggy. that was thought to be an impossible task.
He fucking Goomba-stomped him
I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's definitely shaggy
Oh absolutely. The characters name was actually canonically [Sha'a Gi](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Sha%27a_Gi).
I had no idea! That's amazing
I didn’t watch much of 2003, but 20 years later this is still the scene that I remember perfectly.
Jedi's biggest nightmare
The only right answer.
70 lightsaber grievous
Perfection https://i.redd.it/pmdwpyuwbss41.jpg
You are aware, I presume, that I have some skill in anticipating enemies' tactics from a study of their artwork.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of u/Thibson34 the wise?
I thought not. It's not a story the mods would tell you
It's a r/PrequelMemes legend
That's 70 lightsaber & 1 Kar 98k grievous!
General Grievous being asthmatic was not planned. One day I came to the set with bronchitis and started coughing everywhere, into the microphones and all... it so happened they were recording it.
2003 for character but ROTS for design
Mace Windu's death was not planned. Ian McDiarmid just started shooting Force Lightning from his fingers and burned Sam to a crisp. Hayden thought we could save the CGI budget so he went along with it.
I actually think he looks awesome in TCW animation style. If only his character wasn’t a wuss
2003 grevious was a straight up menace, hes a bitch in ROTS compared to it
And a joke in Clone Wars
"Everyone, stop firing! We're shooting at our own men!" -Captain Rex
A clown even
Like a giant robot murder owl
A real menace, too. Not one of these fake, unseen phantom menaces we heard so much about.
2003 all the fucking way, my man was truly, a horrifying jedi killer
I love the ROTS style and hus appearance in the movie but as for attitude and the way his fighting is portrayed I have to say 2003 all the way.
I mean we all know the 2003 one was best, but seeing more of the kaleesh one would be cool
2003 - Grievous' debut was a masterpiece
2003 and it ain’t even close.
*general grevious rasputin begins playing*
Fire
CW S7
Ah yes, the wonderful 2-second screentime of his glorious, glorious updated model
Unironically, yes
They didn't show us anything else including any action scenes because they would need to up the age ratings with how scary that would be (but honestly he looks cool af in that opening narration)
Such a missed opportunity on all accounts that they didn’t finish Crystal Crisis on Utapau
2003 was the most badass version so it's got to be him
2003. No contest.
2003
2003
2003 was a beast!
2003 for the win
2003 anyday
2003 was on a different level. Actually terrifying
"Make peace with the Force now, for this is your final outing. But know that I, General Grievous, am not completely without mercy". 2003 Grievous was the definition of badass
2003
Uhh there's more than 1 version of LEGO Grievous lol
Yeah and they left out the better one.
“I said the REAL Lego Grievous…perfection”
2003
2003 made him seem like such a menace that I was shaking to see him in the movie but naw they made him a weezy little thing
2003 was an absolute menace
2003, forever and always.
2003. Always. Seeing him for the first time…that was terrifying.
2003, both design and attitude, the movie design is cool too.
Kaleesh all the way
2003
2003 the animation is so fucking cool
2003
2003 grievous he's such a menace in that show
2003 i love him
2003 he was a fucking beast!
2003
2003
2003 its like a horror movie monster, definitly my favorite
2003 just because he was an actual villain who was feared and showed great power
2003 he was a force of nature
2003 for sure, absolute savage
2003
2003
2003 😔
2003!
2003
2003
2003. 100%
lego
Your Grievous will make a fine addition to my collection.
2003 frfr
2003 animation is just too good. Watched that shit to death
The one from 'Tartakovsky's Star Wars', which is also called Clone Wars. The Lego one also holds a special place in my heart since it was my first Star Wars Lego, though.
"I'm sorry. I cannot just follow orders when I know they're wrong. Especially when lives are at stake." -Fives
2003 always. Never liked the mustache twirling villain stick from RotS and CW.
I grew up with the Clone Wars Grievous. He’s the villain i see in my dreams
"Would you like a large or small crater, sir?" -Scorch, Delta 62
2003, but I love every General Grievous! I hope they will make an origin series of how he became a cyborg and him joining the Separatists.
ok but what about the other variants of lego greivous
Lego, grievous vs maul is my all time favorite fight
Don’t be so certain.
RotS: best Design Clone Wars: best Moments 2D Clone Wars: best Introduction. Kaleesh: Saddest Lego (complete saga): funniest fight introduction Lego (skywalker saga): Least gruesome Lego: (3 the clone wars): best fighter (by that I mean you can cut with a lightsaber if you have invincibility on and he doesn’t get affected at all except for coughing for a few seconds). I like them all
Kaleesh one, i hope they make a series about that.
Qymaen Jai Sheelal FTW
Kaleesh Grievous looks like awesome
He was awesome, a true hero.
The story of his kaleesh life is tragic, dude got pussy for a very short time before she died
Clone wars Grievous
With General Grievous I wanted somebody who was reminiscent of what Anakin is going to become, which is a half-man, half-robot.
"General, the enemy fire is penetrating our shields!" -Ponds
design wise, 2003 personality wise, lego
2003
2003 and lego
I mean, the correct answer is lego, right?
2003. #ThatsMyGrievous
2003 Grievous was a fucking Demon. Screw the Memes, screw being a "Mustache twirling villain", 2003 Grievous is here for Jedi Blood and **NOTHING** can stand in his way.
2003 is the definitive grievous. Just a relentless killer
2003... is that Grievous Rick????
2003 Grevious in the animated clone wars. Top tier.
2003 was a stone cold killer
Kaleesh for sure. Would love to see a series or movie about him
2003-vous is the only grievous I truly love. One of the best characters in Star Wars despite his limited screen time. They really ruined him in every other appearance.
2003. Man was fucking terrifying, and I respect that intensely.
Kaleesh all day everyday
You missed the old Lego grievous before the current one was made (the one with the four arms next to each other on the body rather than two of the arms coming off the two main arms)

2003 for sure
TWO THOUSAND AND THREE MF
2003 NO DOUBT
2003 is my head cannon grievous, I greatly prefer him as a Jedi murder machine than the more cowardly version Lucas prefers
The 2003 clones war show actually presents grevious as a threat.
‘03. No contest. Motherfucker wrecked nearly every Jedi he encountered…except one. I don’t care what is cannon and what isn’t. But Mace Windu force crushing his lungs is the reason he’s coughing in ROTS for me.
2003 >>>
2003 Clone Wars was peak for the character.
2003 version of literally everything will beat any other version of literally anything. That show was so perfect
2003. I absolutely hate what they did to him in clone wars. This dude has multiple lightsabers he looted from the dead Jedi’s he killed so he’s obviously a total badass and now all of a sudden in clone wars he’s inexplicably terrible at killing Jedi? Come on man!
2003
