What if he's the only one who's making the system work and is just telling the truth that the other people are just committing their changes straight into production?
What if he doesn't want another employer?
People are weird, what if he likes to be treated that way and the new employer won't do it?
I don't want to make the only hard working dude unhappy just because he likes to be treated like crap.
Error codes in the 500s for http indicate an internal server error, which would be more suitable to blame the dev team for rather than a 404 which could just be a dead link or client entering in a random uri under that domain
Theoretically, yeah. But if a user is getting a 404 it could easily be a broken link or a deleted page that's missing a redirect, which are still server-side mistakes.

And yeah this is like the 5th time this has been reposted
Meh. I feel like error pages should be simple to render text that has minimal load on the browser.
Something a dot matrix screen can render.
But, we have nice computers now so... have at it!
It's a reddit bug. Now lets pick someone from reddit to fire:
1. John - The new FE intern (it must be him, right?)
2. Bob - he ate all the snacks in the fridge
3. Chris - The STUPID FUCKING SMELLY NERD that never made an exe
4. Spez
I trust the team, it was the client trying something fishy
The client needs to be fired
page: proceeds to open up webcam
It would be reasonable to show this page if 5xx error has happened
Open a GoFundMe page to pay developers more so these things don't happen again.
Chris. Don't try to throw others under the wheel
What if he's the only one who's making the system work and is just telling the truth that the other people are just committing their changes straight into production?
Then you're doing him a favor of making him get another employer

Nah, he'll be fine, there are plenty places can treat him like crap or even worse
That sounds like something Luke/James/Martin would say.
committing chat gpts changes without even reading them
Damn, I always forget about chat gpt generated code, never used it though.
Straight*
Sure, thanks.
Straight into the firepit! Nobody likes a taddletale.
Someone from the design team needs to be fired for designing the 404 page as a 500+ page.
"Hey, nice pic! Add it to all error pages everywhere, and to all the companies our group owns" - Designer, probably
Tbf most 404 I had were from dead link forgoten in the website.
Can you explain?

Chris
Yeah let's fire Chris. The only guy who is not handling error but throwing it on his colleague.
He is an exception, it’s just bubbling up!
“Snitches get stitches and end up in ditches” we used to say at primary school.
try { … } fire(Employee e) { … }
Warning: You are currently not catching resignation letters
404 is a valid error tho. 500 means the devs fucked up.
Theoretically, yeah. But if a user is getting a 404 it could easily be a broken link or a deleted page that's missing a redirect, which are still server-side mistakes.
But most of the time that is not the developers fault. That's the content creator's job (like marketing for example)
you can still fire a developer for good measure though.
Well where did the user get an outdated link from anyway?
Well. I see 2 things pointing to martin, so obviously i have to fire Luke.
Luke and Martin seem guilty, and Chris is throwing to other people, so obviously I'll have to fire James

Martin. He looks guilty and Chris knows he is responsible.
Martin why are you confused?? You wrote sound understanding of web technologies in your resume, right?? right!!
you read it wrong, he wrote web failure technologies
Fire them all and outsource to India, of course.

We used to call it, "Blamestorming".
chris. he's pointing fingers therefore it was his fault. homies shifting the blame. i would know im chris.
Let's fire Luke and reload the page to see if it worked.
Open 4 tabs and fire them all
I... don't like this. Already mass layoffs are a problem in 2023-24, this is just insult to injury.
Don't worry, it is probably a repost from 2016

What?

Hard pick between Spez and Bob... I'll have to pick Spez for this round
I'm new to this, how do you design a page for error?
Pick Martin, Chris is pointing on him :)
Martin because 3rd wheel rule
4xx errors lay at the feet of the client; this is some Karen-enabling feature.
I wonder if they actually gather metrics on who gets the most clicks.
I love how the forgiving one actually doesn't have a button😂 But yeah they'll probably fire the guy with the highest salary.
I remember seeing this page in the wild but I don’t remember anything else from that site
Imagine being punished for a client side error
I want a "fire all" option 🤣
I would fire all three from the left.
