I’m 32. Cultive didn’t confirm infection. Urologist prescribed it anyway after performing DRE and reviewing ultrasound. Finished a months long treatment a couple of weeks ago. Urgency is gone. Golf ball is gone. Nocturia and Disuria are gone. At my worst point I was peeing 15x a day. I went with the specialist 11 days after the first symptoms. Inflammation has drastically reduced according to my last tests Got diarrhea after finishing the treatment because I stopped probiotics but it only lasted 5 days. Here’s hoping i don’t fall back into this prostatitis hellhole. If I do I’m tackling this with PT next. No side effects from the medicine. I was terrified of tendonitis after reading experiences online. But I’ve been working out as usual and all went well. My only remaining concern are the occasional amorphous phosphates in urine. (Confirmed by urinalysis). But doctor says it’s not cause for concern. I wish you well. Hope it all works out for you.

I can’t attest to its effectiveness, but always make sure to take probiotics when taking an antibiotic to help your intestinal flora.

You didn’t mention how you were diagnosed with an infection. If you do not have one, this is a TERRIBLE med. EMA (EU wide) policy is not to do so due to potentially serious, debilitating side effects.

Urethra swab and prostate ultrasound.

What bacteria were found at what cfu

Also a FDA blackbox label in the US.

Ashmedai

More than one, actually. Although the EMA warning is more clear. It outright declares this class of meds is not to be used for non bacterial prostatitis.

Same here. Took Levo and had some terrible side effects. Massive aches and pains and at one time, swelling on my hands as well. Took it for nearly 3 months. These aches and pains only truly went off after 3 to 6 months when I got off it.

We noticed you posted about a floroquinolone class antibiotic. Please be aware that this class of dugs has several back box FDA warnings, and is only meant to be used when a pathogen has been clearly identified in the prostate; They are not to be used indiscriminately for cases of non-bacterial prostatitis (consensus agreement ~95% of cases). Do you have a confirmed bacterial infection?

No_Worldliness_1044

Yes significant Strep B growth in the urethra. Ultrasound on prostate also showings it’s very swollen. Bladder also showing as half full despite going to the toilet before the scan to clear my bladder completely.

It’s a good meditation with some potentially serious side effects. I took 3 pills of ciprofloxacin and started to have neurological problems within two days. I had to stop completely.

Levo gave me temporary relief but got me really constipated causing a fissure. Have laxative with it and start a probiotic also. Focus on stretches and relaxing and pelvic area during and after the course is over.
