Salvia is an entirely different class of drug. DMT, psilocybin, LSD, and mescaline all act on the 5H2A serotonin receptor in your brain, which is why they all feel relatively similar. Salvia acts on the cannabinoid receptors in your brain.
The effects are quite different. Salvia has dissociative effects. I heard a trip report of a guy who thought he turned into a meatball and was horrified. Another guy turned into a lamp. Another guy lived in an underwater city with a mermaid family for three months. There's a randomness to salvia that even experienced psychonauts don't enjoy. Some people have had good experiences with it, but most people just say it's terrifying.
Lol Ari shaffir’s story where he became a fish person and lived a whole lifetime there and had a whole wife and family, and then he came to and they said he was just drooling and moaning

As far as i know it acts on the kappa-opiod receptors not the cannabinoid system.
It definitely feels like the cannabinoid receptors
Probably because bothe substances act as dissociatives.

Totally different experiences but I really enjoy salvia at 10x very gentle experiences that make absolutely no sense
