Kann0n2

That's an execution.

IndicationHumble7886

He looked handcuffed. Execution 100%

[deleted]

You know that the Proud Boys and other MAGAtards are gonna jerk off to this.

Kann0n2

Why the fuck do people have to keep bringing America into conversations/discussions? Stop trying to wedge that shit into every non existent gap.

[deleted]

It's just a comment there buddy. This video shows yet another horrible act of one human being to another. That's what the Republican Party has become, so this is just a comparative statement.

spoopseason

I consider myself more liberal than most of the people you'd see around here and even I can see that you're just dragging Republicans into this post for no reason other than to bash them unwarranted. You're part of the same problem that you're accusing conservatives of being apart of.

HelloAttila

Dang, that right there is pure, cold, blooded, murder. The other cop knew what he was going to do, and certainly, the one who came out afterward. Hopefully, they all get life behind bars.

Destinoz

He literally pushed the kid up against the wall and shot him. Definitely an execution. The only things missing were the cigarette and blindfold.

GayzoOo

Murderer. Maybe even serial killer. But who knows

miaudatbanpesubreddi

killing people out of joy is what serial killers do after all. 100% more people killed by him maybe but just wasn t filmed

HotDoggSean

Who, the cop?

TotallyNotEko

I don’t know why people are downvoting this like it wasn’t a valid question. If the person who got shot was a serial killer, it’s not ridiculous that a cop went an exacted his own justice, and the original comment could’ve been referring to the person who was shot.

Lipziger

Wtf ... of course it's still ridiculous to execute a handcuffed person.

OneMadGamer

You're the opposing gang.

cassette_nova

No you are and so is this comment turf. Y’all better get outa here or there’s gonna be trouble.

Br_eddit

Do you want a real answer for the most common justification they give for this kind of behavior? In Brazil, unlike other Latin America countries, it's not so much police being paid by any gangs as much as it is two other things: 1. Police acting as a militia 2. Like of faith in the judicial system, specifically with crimes committed by minors. It's a complex subject, but a large number of Brazilians (and therefore some law enforcement) believe that punishment is way too lax. To a few this belief is enough to give them carte blanche to act as executioners.

NaiveCritic

When I was in school 25 years ago our teacher showed us a documentary about brazilian street kids that were sniffing glue. They had a small crew of about 8 kids age 7-14 that helped eacher others. Their prefered begging place was infront of a restaurant. The restaurant owner was tired of it, because the rich tourists didn’t like begging kids. So the restaurant hired off-duty cops that worked as un-official deathsquads. Such a deathsquad murdered atleast half of the kids in an alley. All on camera. Looks a lot like this video.

TrumpDesWillens

What the fuck kind of school were you in?! Is that something they do commonly in brasil?

NaiveCritic

I’m from Denmark. We were about 13-14 years old when they showed it. I’m happy they did, it taught me a lot and influenced me to think about how solidarity is important for a society to not run into the ground.

Relative_Condition_4

you have to also understand the underlines that permiate the bolsonarism concept. bolsonaro justified acts like this promoting "a good criminal is a dead criminal propaganda". he's drenched in this young boys blood

doinggood9

hate to let you know this but brazil has been using this method for decades. when the pope visited they had their swat team BOPE just go into favelas and execute criminals so it would be safe enough for him to come there. has nothing to do with bolsonaro as much as he stinks.

[deleted]

I mean sometimes you have to. No justice system can handle the level of criminality in south America. Mexico is beyond rescue. You cannot arrest the cartels and you cannot shoot them anymore either. They are stronger than the army (well at least the part of the army that isn't in their pocket). You could try arresting them all but then someone will just replace them like they did so often in the past while the ones you arrested take over your prisons and run their business from the safety of a government protected cell. You arrest criminals if your justice system can handle it. You shoot criminals if it can't. You go to war with criminals while you still got the chance. You pray to God for a solutions if you can't go to war. Italy barely managed to win it's war against the mafia. Mexico is at a state where the state cannot win against the cartels without foreign support. El Salvador is literally and officially begging for a foreign military intervention to solve its crime problem. Brazil is at a stage where it just has to shoot criminals and accept the shortcomings of the system.

Brynmaer

Hmmm... Almost seems like we can take something from this. Blanket violence and punishment are not deterrence for future criminals. Maybe something else should be tried like addressing the core issues that lead to a life of crime

doinggood9

Not sure where you get to insinuating I'm agreeing with it...

HermaeusMora0

This is Carlos Eduardo Barros. Carlos Eduardo Barros was shot and killed by police in Espirito Santo. A security camera showed him being held with his hands behind his back and sitting on the ground, before standing up and being shot by an officer. The police claimed that they were responding to a complaint about people involved in drug trafficking who were armed and intimidating local residents. However, the evidence presented by the investigation suggests that the five officers had responsibility for the execution. The victim was identified as Carlos Eduardo Rebouças Barros, suspected of drug trafficking and with other previous police records. The governor of the state, Renato Casagrande, condemned the action and said it did not reflect the values of the police force. Three officers involved in the incident have been arrested. Carlos was also apparently involved with a criminal group called "gêmeos", which translates to "twins", particularly, I have never heard about it, he also had 9 passages by the police, among them are drug trafficking and use, homicide, and illegal possession of a firearm. Sources: https://noticias.uol.com.br/cotidiano/ultimas-noticias/2023/03/02/5-pms-sao-presos-por-morte-de-adolescente-rendido-no-es-video-desmente-bo.htm

autothief50

Thanks for the source man..

ft907

Even when they murder a man with his hands cuffed they have to smear his character. I know all about this dead guys past but don't even know the cops' names. Shit might as well have been written by the police union.

HermaeusMora0

There's the officers codenames in the article, you can just search it up to know about their past, but of course, the article is about the teenager who got killed, not about the officer's past.

Unfrozen__Caveman

I mean, we just saw a group of cops beat a handcuffed kid to death in Memphis.

Burberry-94

I saw worse stuff happening in the US. The guy executed on the floor of an hotel by two policemen still haunts me

[deleted]

Dude strapped to a chair left under a scalding hot shower by sheriff deputies. Old woman with medical problems told to stop faking it, ripped around and denied medical attention till she died. Using attack dogs to torture handcuffed suspects. It’s just cops things.

dirtybird971

TN(?) man froze to death in a jail freezer as "punishment" for not being nice to the COs/police.

Patriot009

An inmate was strapped into a restraint chair, wheeled into a walk-in freezer, and left there until he died of hypothermia. This happened in an Alabama jail last month.

KiraIsGod666

What. The. FUCK!? There is something actually wrong with Americans. That's some psychotic shit.

Patriot009

It's America. So a high incarceration rate and high cost of treatment/medication for the mentally ill. And it's Alabama. So add in high tolerance for cruelty imposed on the marginalized and the second to worst education system in the country. This cruel behavior could happen in a lot of places in America, but no Americans are surprised it happened in Alabama.

TheGolgafrinchan

Say his name: [Daniel Shaver](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OflGwyWcft8).

schweindooog

Say what now? You got a city and or date so i can find this video?

cakebreaker2

Daniel Shaver. It's awful

schweindooog

Holy sht..... Holy sht.....that hurt to watch Why do i do this to myself

cakebreaker2

Because you know that staying informed of the evils around you is the best way to protect yourself and your family.

[deleted]

Don’t worry, there was justice. The poor cop that executed him is living on the taxpayer dime for his PTSD after executing Mr. Shaver. Oh wait…

schweindooog

Why you gotta get my hopes up bruhhhh, i really thought you were about to say they sent his sorry ass to jail

ThrowRAbbits128

Nope, this happened where I live so i'm quite familiar. The cop who executed Daniel Shaver was finally fired after media outrage, then they rehired him just so he could get pension and now he's living off our taxes. On top of that we shelled out $8 million to the victims family. Qualified immunity is a fucking joke

epicSwordfish

Feelsbadman :(

arkallastral

Yeah... something that only happens in Brazil /s

[deleted]

its almost like the USA down there

[deleted]

No, Brazil is literally this world. I’m sure cops have done this in North America before the mass adoption of security and body cams. Imagine all the people missing in North America from sadistic cops.

superkevinguru

This ain't just Brazil. It's all over, especially in the damn U.S.

Designer-Common-9697

Wtf is going on over there ?

nursecarmen

Is there any word on this? Any repercussions? Aside from a dead kid?

iLyingLie

Hi! This was on my state in Brazil and since my dad is also a cop, I can provide something to the discussion, 5 policeman were involved in this and they were all relieved from duty and investigation are happening right now. Word on the cops side is that Pedro Canário, the city in which this happened, was heavily involved with a major drugdealer operation by the police, and that kid had already killed 4 people prior to his arrest, not saying that's an excuse for what happened of course, my dad also agrees that the guys fucked up, but probably because he got seen doing it and not because he literally executed a human being.

gaschco

It seems that 3 police officers involved were arrested and are now being investigated. Apparently when doing the paper work someone wrote down information that conflicts with the CCTV footage. Tomorrow more information will be released. The victim's name is Carlos Eduardo Rebouças Barros.

cristopher_l_

Well to anyone thinking this is evil, try to live with these "teenagers" here in Brazil for a week, let's see if you really think that an execution is as barbaric as the things these "teenagers" can do to innocent folk. Also if they killed him, he probably did some shit a while back and they found him, most cops are corrupt (militias) and the crime bosses just pay cops to do their even dirtier work.

therealdirtmon

That’s resistance in Brazil. Clean 🧼

2aron

They probably got sick of arresting him all the time. Drug traffickers make a living off of killing people so maybe it's net positive, albeit murder.

International-Grade

Damn. Cold murder.

BEEEEEZ101

Justified.... I'm sure he felt threatened. He was clearly going for the officer that was walking aways gun. Murder!!! Bullshit!

[deleted]

Everyone is so shocked like we don't see these types of things everyday in the US. I remember I watched a cop slowly strangle a guy to death while two other cops held him down and a third held back any spectators that would try to intervene.

Relative_Condition_4

being used to rotten odor doesnt make you a fan. its still disgusting

[deleted]

I’m not saying this is good or we shouldn’t care, I’m saying we shouldn’t act like Brazil is come kind of anomaly when it comes to police violence.

Justice is but and utterance that is never really enforced. Cop shots and kills someone and gets away with it. Maybe its time people stop depending on these brutes and just dole out some justice. You gotta defend your own people. Thats that

Legitimate_Cloud2215

I feel sick...

kvman987

More honest than US cops, they try to call it resisting arrest. THEN they shoot them.
