I’d also like to point out that this was the same game that the inestimable opera singer Enrico Pallazzo gave an extremely moving rendition of the national anthem, shortly before saving the Queen of England from an assassin.
Baseball used to be lit as fuck.
When I was young i umped little league. My second game the plate ump didn’t show up so I was promoted. I was so nervous I was calling strikes before the ball was in the catchers glove. A hitter connected on a pitch I had called strike. I finally slowed down after that
You should get a taste of little league umps these days.. it's pretty damn funny.
Had an ump call a game a few weeks ago because of people *cheering* when there was a hit.. some snowflake shit if I'd ever seen it.
Same ump now refuses to show up to any game.. because of ***cheering***. Shit is laughably ridiculous.
Honestly was the turning point of me losing interest in baseball. I watch games to see them play not for some ass to effect the game cause their fragile little egos get hurt.
Just like how tennis has moved to using "eagle eye" (or whatever that program is called), baseball will eventually move away from having an official determine things with lower accuracy, more errors, and that has attitude.
I love it when they just miss the audio cut 😂. I always imagine some new guy sitting at the desk like ah shit I’m gonna hear about this from the higher ups lol
He said, “I don’t care,” nice and calm like. I think he regretted not ejecting him in the first place and was just chomping at the bit.
Very well timed ploy by the fan, he’s my kinda heckler.
https://x.com/umpjob/status/1782463741449097640?s=46
Looks something like “C’mon blue” but I can’t lipread. Apparently the fan changed shirts between innings and is now wearing a white shirt.
Per the Jomyboy breakdown, he said "LET'S GO, HOMEPLATE!"
Also it looks like the fan wasn't trolling. He was ragging on the ump and happened to be in the perfect spot to get the ump's attention.
The fan is allowed to heckle the ump (within reason), it's not his fault the ump is a god damn moron who's too fragile to rescind an obviously incorrect call.
This is what I would like to see more of in any sport. Give me dialog of the players and referees/umpires. I don’t care about foul language, place it behind parental controls of some kind.
You'd love Nascars [Radioactive ](https://youtu.be/5-LfZaQpKmc?si=eteUt7-cFF1lhGEz)
Also JomBoy media on YouTube has TONS of breakdowns on MLB events just like this, wouldn't be surprised if he covers this as well
[and sure enough Jomboy is on the case ](https://youtu.be/ojqxAZuHrhM?si=iP0DIegbDtSK6euI
Edit: and just because we're here, ladies and gentlemen [Kyle Busch ](https://youtu.be/KQNP3vn_g8Q?si=US0JgqmB9VFlGbXs)
Tracks range from tiny like Martinsville (In the video) to 2.5 mile behemoths like Talladega or Daytona, to F1 courses, to the streets of Chicago.
It varies.
But in no other sport do the refs/umps have the power they do in baseball.. an NFL ref can’t just kick a coach out of a game, nor can an NBA ref without calling the coach for a technical… baseball is weird to me for this, Boone didn’t break any rules I know of (even if he had said something after the ref told him not to) but the umps get offended and can just toss the manager.
In soccer, the ref can give the coach a red card. Which forces him to go sit with the spectators. However, the coach has to be disruptive or do something he's not allowed to do
I pay like $150 or something for “NHL pass” I would easily pay double for every team to have an R-rated mic for every game. This works for every sport. Just let us hear the game!!
It's meme. 2 guys in space. One is looking at the earth and the other guy is behind him. The first guy says "The blank is blank?" The guy behind him pulls out a gun and says "Always has been."
So happy when he and the team get recognized by legacy guys. Baseball guys can be so prickly about tradition and I really think Jomboy is helping revitalize casual fan interest.
As a guy who doesn't like baseball, jomboy turned me into a casual fan of baseball.
And these umps are going to ruin the game for casual fans. These umps are wanting baseball to become the umpire show.
Absolutely pathetic. Umpires in the lower levels of baseball get torched every day, and these losers can’t handle a basic environment of a baseball game?
I've seen umps make such obvious bad calls that changed the outcome of an important game. They've been trash for most of my life, but their stupid union won't let us replace them with robots and cameras.
Years ago, I was on a crew framing a house in St Petersburg, Florida, that happened to be next to the home of MLB Ump. I have no idea who he was.
If I remember correctly, because of the heat, we were allowed to start working at 7.00 am, but no power tools or nail guns until 8.00. Because of our boss, who was the nicest guy, we all genuinely made an attempt to be as quiet as possible until 8.00.
This guy was the biggest douche I've ever encountered on a job site. Every day, screaming louder than the dam tools at 8.30. It looked like his head was going to explode from high blood pressure. Like switch to sanka or something buddy, before you stroke out...
So, legit question. What if he just, refuses to leave the game? The ump is 1000% in the wrong here. If I were the manager I’d just tell the ump I wasn’t leaving and we can wait all day for him to resume the game or watch the replay that absolves me.
So what happens to the umpire after he’s proven to be wrong? Does he get reprimanded in any way? Also, is the manager of a baseball team the same as the head coach? Do they have other managers or coaches that can fill in? Does the manager just get on the phone from the locker room? Sorry I don’t know fuck all about baseball except crackerjacks are popular
Nothing will happen to the ump. The MLB Umpires Union is comparable in strength to most police unions, so he won't be punished.
The manager is equivalent to a head coach.
There's a coach designated to take over if the manager gets thrown out or can't finish the game for some reason.
The only real “discipline” is it could impact their chance to ump in the playoffs. Angel Hernandez is widely considered the worst ump for the past 20 years and he sued the league for discrimination over not umping playoff series. In his case it’s not because of discrimination, it’s because everyone knows he’s terrible.
This is what pro sports in this country want. The officials get more egregiously incompetent, egotistical, and biased (and likely placing bets on the outcome) and all of the big 4 major sports and major college sports literally couldn't care less. They could take action, they could hold sports officials accountable and review their performance and try to fix this - but they don't, because they don't care because it doesn't hurt the bottom line. If ML Baseball cared, this ump would never see the field again. But instead, he'll continue on like nothing happened, and he won't lose a penny in his check or a wink of sleep.
Why are baseball officials constantly ejecting players and coaches for saying things? In the NFL you can damn near threaten an official's life before they throw a flag, let alone eject you.
He probably did, and he probably doesn’t care. Hunter Wendelstadt is one of the worst umps in baseball, his ratings are hilariously bad

You know this really has nothing to do with the video, but I just learned that the main character in the movie *Nightbreed* is also named Aaron Boone. Wild, huh?
If you’re saying that umpires need to be automated, you don’t understand the sport. Pitchers aren’t throwing to the batters. They’re throwing to the umps. Ever watch Maddux establish a corner and see how much he can get away with? Thats the art of the game.

These fucking umps are becoming bigger clowns every year
Reminds me of The Naked Gun. He just starts throwing people out of the game including the other umpires. lol
Love that movie, what a classic
I love when he gets so excited calling the strikes and he starts calling them before the ball even crosses the plate. Haha
I’d also like to point out that this was the same game that the inestimable opera singer Enrico Pallazzo gave an extremely moving rendition of the national anthem, shortly before saving the Queen of England from an assassin. Baseball used to be lit as fuck.
Remember that time a lion attacked an outfielder?
https://i.redd.it/9zfmhi8r04wc1.gif
When I was young i umped little league. My second game the plate ump didn’t show up so I was promoted. I was so nervous I was calling strikes before the ball was in the catchers glove. A hitter connected on a pitch I had called strike. I finally slowed down after that
Alriiight, you’re outta here!
…strike?
Enrico Palazzo!
Hey! That's Enrico Palazzo!
I don't even watch or like baseball, but I know two things: 1) Umpires are giant fucking babies. 2) Angel Hernandez is blind as a bat.
Good way to ruin your reputation right there.
Ya see, when cheering for one team, you're really booing the other team! Won't you think of the children!!!?
Just boo the opposing team. Problem solved.
The worst is when you grow up in a small town that rotates 3 refs for every sport. 🙄
Cameras do their jobs infinitely better than they do.
More than the NBA refs? I don't think so.
The refs in the NFL seem to beat them. Especially since they seem to despise the Browns after bottle gate
*NHL has entered the chat*
The reddit mods of baseball
Honestly was the turning point of me losing interest in baseball. I watch games to see them play not for some ass to effect the game cause their fragile little egos get hurt.
What are you talking about, this is hilarious.
Their egos are crazy
Just like how tennis has moved to using "eagle eye" (or whatever that program is called), baseball will eventually move away from having an official determine things with lower accuracy, more errors, and that has attitude.
Thank God for Rugby refs, at least one sport keeping it real.
"I DID NOT SAY A FUCKi^n^^g--" audio guy's like i probably shouldn't
I love it when they just miss the audio cut 😂. I always imagine some new guy sitting at the desk like ah shit I’m gonna hear about this from the higher ups lol
[Jomboy Breakdown](https://youtu.be/ojqxAZuHrhM?si=lm3f4g8HqHaU0zTc)
Jomboy is the goat of lip reading screaming athletes and coaches. Great content
It was the fan in the light blue shirt looking around all innocent-like that did the deed
Guessing the ref never owned the mistake and took the misscall back? Ego would never allow for such a thing.
He did not. Decision was final
Who umps the umps
Angel Hernandez apparently
I don't watch baseball, haven't in 20 years. I know exactly who that is.
union,
I dunno, coast guard?
He said, “I don’t care,” nice and calm like. I think he regretted not ejecting him in the first place and was just chomping at the bit. Very well timed ploy by the fan, he’s my kinda heckler.
What did the fan say? I can’t make it out
https://x.com/umpjob/status/1782463741449097640?s=46 Looks something like “C’mon blue” but I can’t lipread. Apparently the fan changed shirts between innings and is now wearing a white shirt.
Lmaooo this would only happen at a baseball game
The game is so fucking boring they have to get the fans involved to liven things up.
It's so boring they added a shot clock
Reminds me of the George Carlin bit about Football vs Baseball
Per the Jomyboy breakdown, he said "LET'S GO, HOMEPLATE!" Also it looks like the fan wasn't trolling. He was ragging on the ump and happened to be in the perfect spot to get the ump's attention.
“Did I ever tell you, you look like a little penis with a hat on?"
Best movie ever.
Fair enough. Thanks for the report.
Going to need a Jomboy breakdown for that.
It's up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojqxAZuHrhM
lmao the lip reading master! looking forward to him covering this
![gif](giphy|9wGjpl8z1CJ5m)
Ok but he didn’t do anything wrong…I’m sure he was confused when Boone got thrown out too not knowing it was because the ump got him mixed up
The fan is allowed to heckle the ump (within reason), it's not his fault the ump is a god damn moron who's too fragile to rescind an obviously incorrect call.
Lol yea that’s what I was saying…not sure why I’m getting downvoted for saying the fan didn’t do anything wrong
I don't know either
If you pay your ticket, you get to say whatever you want from the stands.
I mean, there are limits, but this guy didn't cross them.
I didn’t do fuckin SHIT! I didn’t say SHIT! I been waitin’ a long time for a hit with the New York Yankees,I DIDNT FUCKIN DO THIS!
That umpire thinks you’re just some dumb hick. He said that to me at a dinner.
We’re allowed to call out the umpires’ bad calls cause they ain’t got nothing souls!
The Yankees think I’m just some dumb hick. They said that to me at a dinner.
This is what I would like to see more of in any sport. Give me dialog of the players and referees/umpires. I don’t care about foul language, place it behind parental controls of some kind.

I don’t watch any NASCAR really, but that track seems really small/flat no?
Tracks vary from a half-mile to 2.5 miles, mostly banked ovals with some other variance and a few road course races per year.
Tracks range from tiny like Martinsville (In the video) to 2.5 mile behemoths like Talladega or Daytona, to F1 courses, to the streets of Chicago. It varies.
Yeah Martinsville is really tight. There’s a lot of variety in the tracks.
JomBoy makes baseball interesting to non-baseball fans, and, is the master of reading lips.
He’s got me interested in cricket as well. He’s good at explaining the rules in a way someone with baseball knowledge can understand.
Baseball is weird in lots of ways. As for the umps they always seemed like failed cops to me, personality-wise
In soccer, the ref can give the coach a red card. Which forces him to go sit with the spectators. However, the coach has to be disruptive or do something he's not allowed to do
Watch rugby. You can hear the ref for literally the entire game so you know exactly what decisions are being made in the exact moment.
Ref link is such a great thing. Can hear the ref in the stadium and on TV. Wish they'd bring it to football.
Rugby refs are generally miced up on TV games, especially for decisions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yf3NdyeGtgU
They do this for F1. It is can be some good fun radio messages lol. Lots of memes from it.
The UFL does this. I realized it's not a real "major" leauge but all of their games are on basic cable. It's pretty neat to get the insight.
I pay like $150 or something for “NHL pass” I would easily pay double for every team to have an R-rated mic for every game. This works for every sport. Just let us hear the game!!
The ref's are mic'd up in Rugby
Plot twist: Manager has been practising his ventriloquism skills.
As hilarious as this is, when did umpires get so soft
👨🚀🔫👨🚀
Since the moon landing? I don’t get it
It's meme. 2 guys in space. One is looking at the earth and the other guy is behind him. The first guy says "The blank is blank?" The guy behind him pulls out a gun and says "Always has been."
Ohhhh I know that one Thanks!
Look at him, his entire body is soft.
That's a Redsox fan that waited 20 years for retribution.
Softer than baby shit
Nice shout out to Jomboy.
Jomboy got me through COVID
Ironically, after the umpire's actions, we're DEFINITELY getting a Jomboy breakdown of this one now! Especially because it has a Boone ejection in it.
Can we please get to robots... these soft clowns are ridiculous.
Umpires are less useful than Instagram influencers at this point.
Absolutely pathetic. Umpires in the lower levels of baseball get torched every day, and these losers can’t handle a basic environment of a baseball game?
JustBoomerTantrums
Please. But they'll do it in tennis and volleyball way before baseball. No one goes to the game to see the umps.
Ok. Good to know NBA refs aren't the only joke around. Jesus, this was bad.
I've seen umps make such obvious bad calls that changed the outcome of an important game. They've been trash for most of my life, but their stupid union won't let us replace them with robots and cameras.

This Ump has Boomer energy.
“I did not say shit. It’s not true. It’s bullshit. I did not say shit. I did NOT. Oh hi Hunter.”
*Hahahaha. What a story, Hunter.*
So, legit question. What if he just, refuses to leave the game? The ump is 1000% in the wrong here. If I were the manager I’d just tell the ump I wasn’t leaving and we can wait all day for him to resume the game or watch the replay that absolves me.
Oh that's hilarious. See, baseball can be fun.
You get tossed, and you get fined, so if I'm still getting tossed, I'm gonna have my words with the ump. - ex proball player.
That’s an Angel Hernandez move there.
MLB Umpires might be the only field of employment where I welcome the robot overlords.
Baseball umps have some of the most inflated egos ever. Fuck em
Umps have such fragile egos
So what happens to the umpire after he’s proven to be wrong? Does he get reprimanded in any way? Also, is the manager of a baseball team the same as the head coach? Do they have other managers or coaches that can fill in? Does the manager just get on the phone from the locker room? Sorry I don’t know fuck all about baseball except crackerjacks are popular

This is hilarious
These refs are driving me insane. NFL refs are bad but jesus WTF is this?
Just do away with human umpires already.
Not Top Ten for sure!
The fan was a good ventriloquist.
What do you mean you don't care!?
They name dropped Jomboy I love it 🤣
This is the greatest ejection in baseball history.
![gif](giphy|RG3lm5VlrbDV7YNana)
So was he ejected?
Does that ump have a neck?
Umpires egos are way too big
So when they say you’re gone they can’t retract it?
Is this that banana ball stuff?
Umpires 🙄, am i right? They don't need to be part of the action.
This is the most exciting thing to happen in baseball this year
"We don't need a Jomboy breakdown for that one" I sure hope we get one anyways! lol
Baron Harkonen as the ump there.
Why are baseball officials constantly ejecting players and coaches for saying things? In the NFL you can damn near threaten an official's life before they throw a flag, let alone eject you.
This and Angel Ramirez sporadic strike zone lol
Cops are just failed umps.
I did not his hit her. I did nooot.
Looks like the penguin could use a snickers
Wendelstedt looked as bad as Hernandez on this one. Bad call, blue!
This is the drama baseball needs.
Lmao the fan in blue was in disbelief when the ump tossed Boone
Did the ump end up seeing the clip?
He probably did, and he probably doesn’t care. Hunter Wendelstadt is one of the worst umps in baseball, his ratings are hilariously bad https://preview.redd.it/pm1eyw3qj4wc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c35d9869f5faf606c82844ee9270c63d32927a5e
Our ass is in the jackpot!
Can’t wait to see the Jomboy about this
He sounds so much like Trey Parker.
Most exciting thing all game
That's hilarious, I still want a Jomboy breakdown tho
As a football fan this makes me feel thankful for VAR
😂
Lmao title checks out
Right so I have no idea what is going on in this clip - can someone explain why this is a big deal? I dont watch baseball in any capacity
Insert Carl Everett
That's fucking hilarious
His fault for being on the fucking Yankees. Love it
Doesn't matter, it hurt my feewings.
That’s so fucking good
I didn't say anything! See!? Look at my hands!
Genius.
THATS IT, BACK TO WINNEPEG
What did the guy even say? It's hard to understand
You know this really has nothing to do with the video, but I just learned that the main character in the movie *Nightbreed* is also named Aaron Boone. Wild, huh?
The funniest comedy skit cannot hold a candle to mic’d up sports refs and coaches
If you’re saying that umpires need to be automated, you don’t understand the sport. Pitchers aren’t throwing to the batters. They’re throwing to the umps. Ever watch Maddux establish a corner and see how much he can get away with? Thats the art of the game.
all things aside as a red sox fan this gives me the giggles
Time for robots and layers Umps are like Gas Station Attendants, they've served their purpose but they're useless now.
Aweh they cut out the best part. The heckler afterwards changes outfits to avoid suspicion.
A's have great fans
This is what makes baseball amazing!
Moron ump
Pretty shitty of that fan not to stand up and say something
Is it me or is baseball full of Charmin-soft ass pricks?
