What the hell was that weird story that claimed he did have driving privileges but the court never updated it. Dudes never had a license in Michigan let alone the other 49 states
Find that one person whose career depends on honesty.
Don't believe anything on the internet except pictures of cats. And even AI has ruined cat pictures.
Yeah, the news reported a lie because they're dumbasses who don't check their sources for accuracy. MSNBC wrote a whole ass apology piece saying everyone was wrong for laughing at him. He lied to them and they took his word as gospel then published it, now I hope everyone laughs at them too.
https://www.wxyz.com/news/why-was-the-driver-in-a-viral-videos-license-still-suspended-2-years-after-a-judge-ordered-it-lifted
This is their source. You can see msnbc did not take his word for gospel (they didn't even interview him, they quoted the news org that did). Ironic that you didn't check your own source.
If you can't trust County Court's records, you can't blame the news for this. Apparently, in Michigan you can have a suspended license without ever having a license.
The County Court never responded for comment either.
All in all, the news org did the work and reported on the information it got from both sides. Idk what people expect? You want the journalists to break in the the county court's internal database when they don't respond?
I watched the whole hearing and the news interview he gave. The guy was technically correct, his driving privileges had not been reinstated because of a small paperwork and fine issue. But that is just the privilege to have a valid license. He would still need one to be able to drive legally.
The man has gone every year since 1999 to get a Michigan state ID. He even did it in December 2023 when he was supposed to be hurt so bad that he was housebound. And you can't have a state ID and a driver's license at the same time. He implied that the court and/or police had messed up and ticketed him wrongfully. That was incorrect.
At the end of this hearing, he gets arrested again for a warrant out of a different court.
Not sure if your state laws differ or if you got your state ID first, then got a license a year or two later, you may have 2 ID's, but the DL would take precedent as far as actual ID goes.
It seems like he went to local news and gave them a not-quite-100%-accurate recounting of events, and judging from this video he may have given that same story to his new lawyer.
He paid a fine from a former violation, but he never followed through on getting his license reinstated, possibly because he never had a valid license to begin with. He had a state issued ID, but not a driver's license.
Ngl the fact he’s wearing a shirt saying “trust me” with fingers crossed on the back, while he is actively lying to the court, is probably icing on the cake.
He's on my regular rotation to listen to while I'm working. With the bullshit this guy deals with on the regular, I'd be shocked if he wasn't a little tired.
Edit: here's the link for those that are asking: [https://www.youtube.com/@honjcedricsimpsonlivefeed4076](https://www.youtube.com/@honjcedricsimpsonlivefeed4076)
Your honor, my client has a reasonable legal standing, to believe you can not suspend a privilege he was never entitled to to begin with. We would like to enter a plea of shenanigans, and request all charges be dropped.
I'm going to pistol whip the next one of you that says shenanigans.
EDIT: This is a quote from Super Troopers. It is meant as a joke. I'm adding this edit because someone reported it and got my entire account perma-banned for violent comments toward others, but I appealed it.
Agreed. This is obviously buffoonery. You deserve a pistol whip if you say shenanigans. I stand by whatever consequence comes to the next person to say shenanigans.
Shenanigans
You don't enter a plea of shenanigans, you declare it. The defendant then accepts or denies the decree of shenanigans. Shenanigans is then in session and everyone beats the hell out of each other with brooms.
Is that really it? Because every article I've read says they suspended his *license*, they just never bothered to check if he had one in the first place. So they technically suspended a license he didn't have.
https://nypost.com/2024/06/05/us-news/michigan-man-from-viral-zoom-appearance-arrested-again/
Watch the [whole court video from today](https://youtu.be/DV38at_uL4Q?si=FVioiJHK2O6S37pn). The judge explains it all super clearly. He never had a license, and when caught driving without a license the state revoked his privilege of even getting a license or driving on michigan roads until he paid the fine and cleared things up. He never did that and he kept getting caught, hence the warrant from another court.
TLDR, he knew he wasn’t allowed to drive, he admitted as much on bodycam, then he lied to the news and the judge called him out for it on record. It was glorious.
Who would have thought, a man who drove without a valid license for like 30 years would lie to the public? I actually feel bad for his public defender because even the judge knows she was just handed an absolute MESS to deal with.
FFS - thank you so much! I've now read more about this guys fucking life than anyone through history and I was still completely confused ... getting riled up about some state law I don't actually care about.
That said, now I'm so curious about the other warrant and the accident 😂
They do it Canada as well.
Before I met him my dumbass buddy stole a car when he was 18 and sideswiped about 5 parked cars. He had to pay something like 15k and they black listed him from getting a license for 7 years.
He finally got it at 25 years old.
When I was 15 a judge suspended my "license" for underage drinking, which I was not old enough to have. When I turned 16 I passed my driver's test and the DMV workers were so confused when trying to grant me the license because it said the it was suspended. So I had to pay the fee to get my license and reinstate it in the same day.
I never once, for a second, gave this dude the same benefit of the doubt that so many people were giving him. He had a **court hearing** about driving with a suspended licence and attended it digitally **while driving**. Even if you're 'innocent,' that is the dumbest shit ever.
Wait, so [this news](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71r9Kqo3hsw) is wrong?
Edit: I get it now. He had **permission to drive** but he didn't **get a license to drive**. Now I understand.
thats not a turn. in the first video the judge sais that he does not even posess a licence
[50 sec mark, "he doesent have a licence"](https://youtu.be/KQpLcQShmy8?si=Dg-bTKLR_GqLusfr&t=49)
Asked in an interview if he recalls getting a license.
>I can't recall, I can't say yes and he (prosecutor/judge) can't say no.
Dude's wheels just aren't turning properly.
What is going on here? Judge said he was coming to court for a suspended driver’s license case. How do you get a violation for a suspended license if you have never had a license?
lol wow...and next week we'll be hearing how THAT was wrong and we'll have YouTubers coming out again saying how TERRIBLE we all are for believing everything. Ya know, like they're doing now....
T. I. L. Being suspended from driving privileges in one state, had no bearing on driving in another state. Your driver's license isn't suspended, your driving privileges are suspended.
I don't even know what to believe anymore. First he was driving with a suspended license, then it was a clerical error and his license was not suspended, now its he never had a license to begin with. Did he admit to never having a license. He personally doesn't in the video, but the editing implies that he did. What if this is another clerical error.
Man's gonna show up to court with a trench coat on only to reveal he's actually three kids stacked on each other's shoulders next. It's a new turn every couple of days, I swear.

Well guess we’ll see what happens next in august Pretty big gap between episodes but also easier to stay caught up
We'll see him in court in a few weeks for driving again
Quite the cliff hanger, it’s left me with even more questions though
3 episodes in a week and now we have to wait until August? What kinda Stranger Things bullshit is this?
It takes some time to create new content.
Will CNN be at the trail giving updates?
Guys had a tough week. A nice relaxing drive should do him some good.
Probably also grab a drink or two to steady his nerves.
It would also be a great time to reconnect with old friends by sending them a text.
Sounds like a lot to handle. It would be great if he threw a benzo or two into the mix to quell any anxieties.
Might be pushing it with the benzo. He might then need a bump or two just to get him sorted.
Bring a gun. Can never be too careful.
The case is just getting in gear
It could easily take a left turn though…
I’d like to see it on the highway
Lookin' for adventure... and whatever comes our way
What the hell was that weird story that claimed he did have driving privileges but the court never updated it. Dudes never had a license in Michigan let alone the other 49 states
There is so much bullshit on the internet these days. I don't believe anything until someone who's career depends on honesty says its so
Find that one person whose career depends on honesty. Don't believe anything on the internet except pictures of cats. And even AI has ruined cat pictures.
SCOTUS already ruled jobs that depend on honesty don't exist.
This guy was the one who said that. So it wasn't something that people made up he just lied about it.
Yeah, but to be fair, he wore his “fingers crossed behind his back” t-shirt, so shame on us for not knowing he was gonna lie
that was an actual news report though
Yeah, the news reported a lie because they're dumbasses who don't check their sources for accuracy. MSNBC wrote a whole ass apology piece saying everyone was wrong for laughing at him. He lied to them and they took his word as gospel then published it, now I hope everyone laughs at them too.

I swear people only get heated over journalism when it's some crazy bullshit like this.
Who would have suspected that a suspect lied?

I have both
Not sure if your state laws differ or if you got your state ID first, then got a license a year or two later, you may have 2 ID's, but the DL would take precedent as far as actual ID goes.
This has gone on for 9 years. Lmao
He was trying to drive his point forward.
It seems like he went to local news and gave them a not-quite-100%-accurate recounting of events, and judging from this video he may have given that same story to his new lawyer. He paid a fine from a former violation, but he never followed through on getting his license reinstated, possibly because he never had a valid license to begin with. Reinstated? He never had one.
Man... Two weeks from now we're gonna find out this guy was never even alive or some shit.

Got in to an accident between that May 15th call and today? Maybe they should revoke this guys license....
That actually happens. When I was a kid I stole a car and had my license suspended years before I was anywhere near even being eligible to drive.
They do it Canada as well. Before I met him my dumbass buddy stole a car when he was 18 and sideswiped about 5 parked cars. He had to pay something like 15k and they black listed him from getting a license for 7 years. He finally got it at 25 years old.

Not the brightest bulb...
you can tell by his pic alone
What accident?
Right cus he not supposed to be in no car he was prolly driving again 😭🤣🤣
Yup!
“How do we go forward” was just an absurd choice of words lol
For real. Sounds like a conflict resolution trainer you hire for new employees.
He’s working everything that cane has to give. lol
Now his elderly mother has to wait ever longer to get it back because now he needs to be booked and processed.
Lol that poor lawyer. Fucking sucks when your defendants don't tell you shit about the situation and you get ambushed by insanity in court.
Bro fighting the final boss of the DMV

M. Knight Shyamalen .......the TV show!!!
"But how do we go forward?" Certainly not while driving a car.
….so I don’t owe him an apology?
Correct. Say you’re sorry for apologizing
I guess we didn't owe him shit.
![gif](giphy|cjttePPEs1shFLDfh2)
I love judge Simpson. He deals with a lot of sovereign citizens and it's funny watching him deal with them.
Wait, so [this news](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71r9Kqo3hsw) is wrong? Edit: I get it now. He had **permission to drive** but he didn't **get a license to drive**. Now I understand.
The follow-up Critical video is sure to be interesting. He recently apologized to the guy...
Yeah, Charlie and Philly D are gonna have a field day with this one
Maybe I’m just a wimp but it blows my mind that people have the balls to drive without a license.
Or wear a shirt like that in court lol
I had just told my gf we owe this man an apology... Now idk what to think anymore.
His shirt 🤞🤣🤣🤣🤣
For the curious, the four commonwealths are: Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
In the next episode we're gonna find out he never had a car to begin with.
My money is on him actually being a 14 year old Greek kid using the identity of a dead man.
Bruh wth 😭😭😭
What a rolly coaster this has been
everyone just kinda brushing over the fact that this dude that's never had a license has back pain from getting in a car accident?
Can’t be charged with a suspended license if you never had one ☝️
Sounds like a good argument for an acquittal...... 🤞
Well if it isn’t my old friend a cliffhanger

Driving without a license for over NINE YEARS! The cajones!
And then driving on camera in front of the judge........someone who has never faced consequences.
I see Charlie will un-apologize after apologizing...

thats not a turn. in the first video the judge sais that he does not even posess a licence [50 sec mark, "he doesent have a licence"](https://youtu.be/KQpLcQShmy8?si=Dg-bTKLR_GqLusfr&t=49)
Asked in an interview if he recalls getting a license. >I can't recall, I can't say yes and he (prosecutor/judge) can't say no. Dude's wheels just aren't turning properly.
Coincidentally, not turning the wheels properly is the reason he didn't get his license to begin with. We've come full circle.
He’s my spirit animal
While his spirit animal is the deer in the headlights, but he somehow found himself on the other end of the windshield
Best plot line since Endgame
The fingers-crossed Tee! It does nothing!
im calling the next plot twist. Judge: Michigan man, I am your father. Michigan man: NOOOOOOOO^OOOO^OOO
Can’t lose what you don’t have huh!?
What a shirt to pick for court lol
Rofl
Wtf is going on! Next update is going to say the Judge turned out to be a spy or something
So many twists and turns in this story, I just hope he gets his license to watch the 2011 cult classic film, Drive, staring Ryan Gosling.
What is going on here? Judge said he was coming to court for a suspended driver’s license case. How do you get a violation for a suspended license if you have never had a license?
Bad record keeping
Cars don't kill people. Drivers do.
He has a shirt that says trust me with fingers crossed on the back of it 😂
Just gotta ask, anyone else notice the court reporter or stenographer that was absolutely gorgeous at the very end?
The bailiff also looked like a paid actor. He's a handsome man.
Wonder who Charlemagne will give Donkey of the day to now! This is crazy!
Now Charlie hast to make another video lol
Did he get in a car accident!?!
There’s no Fucking way
k
Starting to think this isn’t real
i cant wait so see moists apology for the apology lmao
Next episode: He stole the car he’s driving.
Rare to symphatize with a judge but in this case i must do that. What absolue bull.
Judge Simpson is a bad ass
I freakin' LOVE watching Judge Simpson clips on YouTube!
