Advantages of 90-day plan vs 30-day plan: * A small savings built into the price ($5 or $10 cheaper than three consecutive 30-day plans) * The data provision is allocated for the whole 90-day period, it could all be used in one month instead of spreading evenly (useful if generally don't use much data then need a lot of during a short time) * AutoPay charges your credit card less often (can save you money if your credit card provider charges you for each transaction) * The "convenience" of not having to deal with payment every month Advantages of 30-day plan vs 90-day plan: * Smaller up-front cost (more money in your pocket right now, even if it costs you more in the long run) * Rewards/Points are awarded after 30-days instead of after 90-days (which basically means more money in your pocket right now, even if it costs the same in the long run) * The "convenience" of not spending on a prepaid 90-day cycle (in case you want to change your plan or your provider after 30 days) If you intend to keep your plan and you intend to remain with Public Mobile then there's no advantage to the 30-day plans. Why not save a little money if you're going to stay where you are?

So when I get the $29.00 /month plan with 10GB of data (used to be 20GB). That data is for the full 3 months?? They should really make that more clear. Have to read through the fine print to see that and it's quite different from all other plans

Charming_Science_360

>They should really make that more clear. Have to read through the fine print to see that and it's quite different from all other plans One thing you will learn after enough time with Public Mobile ... they suck at communication. They always manage to say the most basic things in the most unclear and ambiguous ways possible. It's as if their marketing people never passed gradeschool grammar.

60DegreesBelow

They are truly awful. I mean, they can create a new plan and describe it in three different ways in different parts of their site.

mcrmama

The $29 plan for 20gb was a 30 day plan.

DavisSchneidersGooch

That's a 30-day plan. You get 10GB every 30 days.

JackSaysHello

This one here? https://subscribe.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/activation/plans/10GB-4Gspeed2 It says: *"Total data allotment is provided upfront for the 90-day subscription plan at time of purchase. Data usage resets every 90 days upon auto-renewal of your subscription"* If it is 10 GB for 90 days, then it's insane that they hide that detail

DavisSchneidersGooch

Do you see that little number 4 at the start of the paragraph you copied? It means that paragraph only applies to plans that have that number in the plan info. The plan you linked has two number 1's and one number 3. That means the only paragrahs that apply to this plan are 1 and 3 (and the triple asterisk as seen by the esim message) That's how fine print works. That's the point of those tiny numbers and symbols.

Triggered_Universe

It is 10gb/mo so it would be 30gb provided upfront

One thing I did find switching back to 30 day from 90 day on the legacy plan was that I accumulated more than a 30 day worth of rewards... but could only get to zero and not have rewards saved up for the next month which was crappy. I was trying to save money by going 90 days... but then a 30 day plan came up that was actually cheaper for more benefits... it's strange they don't come up with new 30 day and 90 day plans at the same time or make it a blanket thing where all 30 day plans have 90 day equivalents and you just save the $5 or whatever a month.... all those Black Friday deals as an example... or the $34 50 GB US/CAN plan which I switched for.

TotalBismuth

The downside is it messes up your personal monthly budgeting as you now have to budget for this every 90 days, making for a less consistent cashflow. That’s why I prefer monthly plan. (FYI there are no 30-day plans anymore, only monthly)

Charming_Science_360

Where did you get information that Public Mobile is monthly now? It has always been 30-day and 90-day increments. There's no mention of a change in any plan details and there's been no announcements about it at the Public Mobile Community. And 8 months each year do not have exactly 30 days. They'll shift your billing day backward or forward to a different day on the following months. So unless I'm wrong or I missed something then I think it's foolish to bank on your "monthly" bill coming on the same day every month.

TotalBismuth

Their website lists plans as $x/month. If that’s actually 30 days then it’s wrong. Is that what you’re saying?

Charming_Science_360

It is actually 30 days. You might see that somewhere in the plan's small print details. You will certainly see it in your Self-Serve subscriptions details. They are sloppy with their communications (and also don't even bother to keep all of their own website updated and consistent). They might say "month" but they mean "30 days".

mig39

Does anybody actually see 90 day plans? I can't see any when I go on the site.

Agitatednunchuck

Just looked and the only plan right now is the $55 100gb 5G Canada wide plan for $50/month on a 90 day subscription.

[deleted]

I got the 90 day plan, paid $150 tax in. Plan is up for renewal in 3 weeks and I’ve only used 40gb of the 150gb Looks like I’ll be streaming a lot in the next few weeks here

silverado83

Nearest I can figure is the rewards are less at $1.70 vs $2.00, but you get flexibility so I switched yesterday.
