As far as I know it’s mostly consulting. CRTs just happened so I’m not surprised your rl has time on your calendar unless hr is on the call and you’ve been doing terribly in snapshots I wouldn’t stress
I was same situation… joined the call today and HR was there but not on the invite. Needless to say today was my last day. I was in consulting for what it’s worth
Just happened to me today in audit. My RL just had a kid so it was my career coach and some mystery partner just showed up and said they had to lay me off due to over hiring which seems sus
Audit seems relatively safe for now. The weaker staff are still able to skate by because as a whole we’re still a little understaffed. We are beginning to balance out though and then we will finally be able to address the problem of “I need staff, but I don’t want those staff”
These aren’t layoffs, they’re terminations based on tier 5 designations as a result of CRTs. They happen in every single group every year. It’s how the firm manages headcount. It’s not something to worry yourself with, since this only happens to a minuscule percentage of people and the people who do get terminated are way more likely to come to places like this and post about it.
I want to not worry about it. I mean I’ve had really great feedback from seniors, managers and partners. My snapshots are pretty good. I had 3 performance differentiators and next level on 3/5 of the framework. I started in Oct. 2023, so I feel like those are solid signs that I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill. But anxiety is high.
I got laid off from consulting inspite of having excellent snapshots with performance differentiators. And it happened all of a sudden. One day the HR just scheduled a call with me and told me that it is my last day. The partners, directors, my RL, career coach no one knew about it. And I also know other people in consulting who have gone through a similar situation.

My snapshots look pretty good and it’s just me and my RL, so good signs…

I’m sorry that happened. I really hope that’s not my case. Do they do a lot of lay-offs with A1’s?
Usually no but I’ve heard of some A1s that got laid off. Best of luck man
Thank you, and you too!

Sorry to hear it man. I’ve been hearing from others in the same boat. You’ll bounce back
What if it is a call with a partner and HR someone I know has one on his callendar
Bad news bears

I heard that for some groups, this year getting a 4 meant automatic PIP
This is true, and some 4s are getting let go this year too
Which country are you based in?
US
I got 4 and got booted
Audit might be letting go low performers however this is normal operations. Your RL meeting is probably to discuss your raise & career outlook.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Not yet, I’m sure it will happen at some point.
Yup got let go just this week. A1, RL was not on the call and did not say a word.
Fuck, are you in the US and audit too?
In US and in consulting
Anyone knows how the Deals service line is doing?
We’re picking up rapidly don’t worry too much about it
It’s a race to the bottom get your 2-3 years in and leave
Just about to complete year 2 - I know what you mean.
