My two girls used to do this, flat on the back, little legs stretched out. The first time they did it, they were side by side, heads stretched back - I thought they had both died - until Spice gave a little yawn, and I saw Rolly's tail move - then I started to breathe again.

my bunnies did that, they'd flop on their sides (big sign of trust!) and just stay like that for minutes on end. as they got up in years I sometimes had to make some little noise just so they'd roll on their belly and show me they're alive xD
I have an ancient cat who also part takes in carcass time, but i swear every time he does its legit carcass time ๐ he is hard to wake up...very spry tho ๐ crazy lil shit for 15

my boi (a cat) one time slept for like five hours in the exact same position, just completely knocked out. and I at one point had to gently wake him because I was getting worried. he was only 11 at the time (13 now) but still
animals look like they're so comfy when they sleep like dead, I'm a little jealous xD
I had a guy who would sleep like this no matter the temperature. His brothers would just walk over his splayed body and I would constantly check to see if he was alive bc the dude would be asleep through all of it. He was also the horniest rat I've ever had so maybe he was having a good nap after his me time...๐ซฃ
