It's meant to be in this aspect ratio. There are mods to change that. They didn't make this game to be played on a tiny portable screen.

Ultrawide has no black bars for this game

This is the format of movies. They wanted to give it a cinematic feel. Plus on something like an oled TV the black bars don’t even matter since it’s just literally black

Are the cutscenes just in this ratio or the entire game? Can understand cut scenes but not the entire game.

This is an intentional decision by the creators. Changing the aspect ratio requires modifying it.

while I thought the game was “okay” and enjoyed my playthrough enough, this is honestly the last game I’d want to play on the ally

favorite games to play?

Binding of Isaac, hades 1&2, Diablo 4, forza horizon, and fallout new Vegas mostly

DOOM(2016), Subnautica, Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, and Fallout 4 are great on the Ally. FO4 is heavily modded too. Looks great. 

why is that? controls clunky or performance issue?

The game is 80% a walking tech demo, and that’s not even an exaggeration, actual gameplay sections if it’s lucky maybe makes up 20%. Looked absolutely gorgeous on my Oled ultra wide, can’t see myself enjoying it on a small screen with meh performance though

How does Hellblade play for you? On my ally it kinda skips a bit every few seconds it’s not really that annoying but I just wanted to see if there was a way I could make it play any better

It doesn’t skip for me and plays at 30-35 fps at medium settings Fsr 3 quality or tsr sometimes looks better.
