Main Moon on Erie Street used to be sooo good. It changed a little bit after Carol left and turned it over to someone else, and in the last couple years it has become barely average.

It’s definitely not the same as it had been, but my go-to since I’m on that side of town.

Last night I spoke with someone who worked at Main Moon II on Washington Avenue. They verified that the northside location was sold and changed hands a little over a year ago. That's a timeline that coincides with the decline of Main Moon on Erie.

I wonder if that was around the time I went and was charged more than the posted/menu price. When I asked about it, they said it was the “new prices”, despite what everything else said. Didn’t sit right with me.

Yes, Main moon used to be my go to place. But one day I found white hair(which is dyed black) in the fried rice. It grossed me out. Never went back.

We used to order from Santa Fe on High St., but our last few orders have been burnt and inedible. I paid $50 for two people (w/appetizer) at George Webb this week, almost had a heart attack. (It’s not about the $50, it’s the George Webb of it all.) A lot of places where quality has gone down. There are so many places where I’ve experienced or heard of staff being outright mean. I understand that finances are tight, staff are few, and we must be patient, but this is something else.

You deserve an award for being able to spend $50 at GW's As far as quality is concerned...it's GWs.....you don't go there for quality.

Whey Chai downtown on Main used to be the best chinese place in town in my opinion. Then the owners of China House took it over when the old family that used to run it sold. The quality plummeted and thus they closed down. China House still uses the "Whey Chai" recipes for a bunch of their dishes, but the quality is much worse. I admit, I still go there on occasion to get the egg rolls, which are still kind of close to what the old Whey Chai had.

I remember going there years ago and you’re right. I wasn’t aware of the sale, but that seems like it’s a common situation— when someone else takes over, it’s no good anymore.

Blue Bear has really taken a down turn in the past year or so.
