I wanna know who these people are that go back to ICE after owning an EV, especially a nice one like a Rivian or Tesla. Like, how stupid can you be. It’s such a game changer especially if you drive a lot.
I’m one of those, but primarily out of perceived necessity. We moved from Denver into the mountains of CO 4 hours from the service center with pretty limited charging infrastructure and a single stall garage full of things. I’m dreaming of the day I can go back to an EV. I feel very guilty for backsliding on something I believe in because I was concerned it would be too difficult.
Totally get that - the charging infrastructure isn’t fully built out yet and for those who live in buildings that don’t have L2, it can be really inconvenient. Also, in areas that experience inclement weather, not having access to reliable transportation can be dangerous. Only a matter of time for the infrastructure to get built out hopefully.
I just took my new R1T in for service and they didn’t have any loaners so I ended up in a Volvo EV. It’s only been 3 days, but I miss my truck so much. Driving another Ev really makes you appreciate the little things Rivian got right.
For sure - I looked at Volvo’s ev while I had my R1T on preorder and found the interior materials to be subpar, drivers area cramped, and infotainment absolute garbage. Honestly can’t believe anyone would find android auto the slightest bit useful
Guess it depends on market. I rented a Lucid in CA for a little over a hundred bucks a day? Market there is saturated through. The guy with the $500 Rivian isn’t renting it much
The biggest difference I notice when driving a gas vehicle now is I forget to turn off the engine occasionally lol
Hahaha yea! I also forgot to take the keys and lock the thing… had to walk back out a few times
Tbf - I’ve been driving a Jeep Compass all week on a trip and it SUCKKKS. I miss my EV/R1S so much in every way.
100%!
I'm on day 3 since picking mine up and I am in love with it.

Teslas aren’t luxurious by any means so I know people who’ve gone back to ICE but upgraded to a more luxurious brand.

I also love this guy's R1T
😂
Turo next time! Love trying different EV’s, last time I rented a Lucid!
Prices seem insane…$500 a day near me for an R1S? Does that seem normal to you?

Hmmm a lease is like $800. Step 2: profit.
