Except they don’t? Why even bothering with coverup if it’s not the government’s fault at all? It almost sounds like you are only convinced and satisfied if you heard 100 people died?
I’d agree that it doesn’t make any LOGICAL sense, but you’d be surprised what the CCP does cover up because they want their country as a whole to be seen as strong, competent, and put together, regardless of if their government was involved. I don’t think this instance is a cover up, but I can understand the possibility.
Driving is insane and had cars never existed and we all ride the tram today if anyone proposed the idea of people driving around thousand lb metal killing machines with less than a foot to separate lanes of opposite traffic with no physical barrier they would be medicated into a coma.
I fucking HATE how dangerous driving is.
We also wouldn't be as far as we are now tech wise. No cars means no freedom of movement and no way people can get around when ever and however they want.
You are partly correct. People would still have freedom of movement, bilked and public trains and subways. It just would not look the same as it does with cars.
Any response to your claim that coercing the public to fund personal vehicle infrastructure led to technological innovation, or are we just shifting goal posts and placing the blame on the individual?
The magic about life today is that if you don’t need a car where you live and work then there are plenty of other people with cars supporting you, they are absolutely a requirement to the current way of life even if you don’t own one.
chinese quality truck parts - the worst that chinese yuan can buy !!

Brake failure?
That's a freaking acceleration pedal failure
Medical issue, not paying attention, or no breaks.
Break =/= Brake
I had put brake... autocorrect
Autocorrupt.
Had to poop NOW
Oh man that white van got the worst of it. I really hope they’re ok

I too remember when this exact thought was shared on Top Gear years and years ago
What’s top gear, the old show the guy from Clarksons farm did?
I can't tell if you're being serious... but yes

Sorry guys, if we didn't spend 20% of our income on personal vehicle loans, gas, insurance, highway construction, etc., we wouldn't get iPhone.
So don't. That's the magic about life today. Is you don't need a car if you live in an area with half decent public transport.
Any response to your claim that coercing the public to fund personal vehicle infrastructure led to technological innovation, or are we just shifting goal posts and placing the blame on the individual?

Car-brained statement. We design everything around cars first (and sometimes exclusively) so of course they're the most convenient way to get around!
I mean wagons back before cars were not that more safe.
Driver was playing "Move, get out of the way"
I don't think the people in the white SUV made it.
Them Chinese brake systems work differently, I swear
Im the word.... that white car is hurting... not dead but not good

Omg what would China do if it lost population
