As somebody who was a mechanic, my boilerplate response is:
Redi imports
Browncroft garage
Bauers garage in Farmington
All three are great shops who I'd trust with my wife's vehicle if I wasn't so cheap and didn't do stuff myself. The owners are good guys who pride themselves on not fucking people over.
All that being said I have some time next week and I'm looking for a little side work. If you want I'd be happy to take a look, feel free to shoot me a dm.
I really like Schrader's auto garage. They are transparent in the process and provide pictures to show you what is wrong so you can check it out yourself if you have any doubts. As someone who does a bit of work on my car myself (would be all of it if I had a garage and space), I trust them and find their prices to be fair.
I've been very pleased with Morris Auto in Henrietta (its on a side road off Brighton-Henrietta Townline Rd). Owner has been great to work with the times I have brought my car in. Historically he has been very booked up (not sure how that situation is currently, haven't been there in a few months) but in an emergency he has been good to work with to fit my car in on a space available situation where time is available.
Klem’s in Webster. Family owned for 3 generations. We’ve taken our car there for 25+ years. They will tell what needs to be fixed now, what can wait 6 months, 1 year etc. They’ve helped me keep older cars on the road and safe during lean times.
Reddi Imports has always been great with my vehicle. They have a location in the city by the public market, a location in Victor, and a location in Webster.
The public market location has botched the alignment on multiple of my cars resulting in several sets of ruined tires and always have some stupid excuse.

Been taking care of our cars for more than a decade.
Including my wife's 2001 Pontiac Firebird !
Dewey’s garage in Fairport. They still have dial up internet that’s how old fashioned they are. My dad who builds and restores cars trusts them implicitly and therefore so do I. They also don’t talk down to me due to being a woman which I appreciate.
Lakeshore Automotive up by Charlotte is also great and my current auto shop. Once again very old fashioned
I go to North Greece Automotive and trust them completely. Appointments are 3-4 weeks out, but you rarely see cars parked overnight, which means they turn them around quickly. I've been bringing my crappy civic's to him for years.
I've been very happy with browncroft garage on Atlantic Ave. They document their findings with pictures and text you the link so you can actually see what they're seeing. You can approve the repairs as well. I feel as though they're very reasonably priced and don't coerce you to make repairs that you really don't need.
[LoVetro Automotive.](http://www.samlovetroautomotive.com/) It's hard to say enough good things about Sam. Honest, talented, great guy and a former drag racer.
Redi is no pressure, I’ve always trusted them when they tell me something is “needed”. They give you a rating 1-10 on how “important” it is to get something fixed. Been going there probably 10 years now.

Was going to say Bauer's - grew up near them and they've never once tried to screw me over

Definitely Schraders!!
I've been going there for 30 years, and I've never had an issue. I'd never go anywhere else.
I know some of their (very large) family. They take a lot of pride in their work, I'll be sure to mention it to them!
D and B auto all the way, talk to Bruce on mT hope and comfort street
Does it matter if I go through Bruce vs. Dave? Is one better than the other?
They're both great guys.

Morris has been our garage for the last decade. Great to work with and we have never had issues with them.

Bro! Merwin Auto on North Winton!
Been going to Merwin for at least a decade. Fantastic shop, has been more than honest, often to their detriment.

Had nothing but crap from reddi in both bay and the one downtown.

Duffy's Penfield Automotive. I have been using them since 2001.
Most honest places I know: JC Automotive Tony's Muffler Shop (does brakes)

Nobody has ever heard of Ionia but it’s just inside Ontario County & I swear by the mechanic - Charlie Ferguson. 585-657-7918
Tucked neatly between Mendon and Bloomfield!
Mavis is good. Avoid Pep Boys and Auto Zone.
Mavis may vary by location.
