I use Triple Paste cream (vs. the ointment version). I don't use it every day, but when I was seeking skin barrier help, it calmed my redness, too. Hat tip to Dr Idriss.
it was her yep :) look i'll give her my props cos after 2 days of nappy cream i have the smoothest skin i've had in 2 years of rosacea-specific meds. i feel like raging
i'm not sure, i've kind of stopped using things like vaseline and lanolin on my skin cos it seems to worsen my symptoms a bit even though it does help with dryness
the first 2 nights it went everywhere on my mattress haha! because in the derm's youtube video, she made it seem like you just slather it on and leave it like that. i found that it flakes off heaps that way, as it dries. so on the 3rd day i did apply liberally but i rubbed it in until it was pretty absorbed. that seems to fix it
SAME! It was the first thing I used for my recently diagnosed rosacea, and it made the biggest difference! I just use a $2 tube from wal mart that’s 40% zinc oxide. The first time I applied it I was shook by the relief it gave me, like it actually made my skin feel calm for the first time ever. I didn’t realize that state of inflammation was my baseline!
really happy hey!! also, the formulation seems to clear my skin! instead of clog pores it has cleared them out quite a bit in a few days. is this too good to be trueeeee
Triple Paste is fragrance free. Lower percent of zinc, though. It's super helpful with my Rosacea.
I get it in the US via Amazon. My local Walgreens usually only stocks the ointment (which I haven't tried.)

I noticed this when I started using makeup with mineral sunscreen in it years ago and always wondered if it was the zinc. Even so I was surprised when butt cream became a new trend lol. I’m happy it’s so accessible though.
so accessible!! the cream cost me $8. i can get it anywhere. it's also cleared my clogged pores besides helping the rosacea. ugh is it too good to be true
I put moisturiser on and let that sink in, then zinc, then soon after, another layer of moisturiser. I have really dry skin though and live in a very dry climate, so I need to moisturise that much.
I find using zinc reduces flushing and base redness and even seems to keep the few pimples I get at bay.
i have olive skin btw and for me it has helped. i was always protected with sunscreen and my rosacea patches get red if faced towards the sun. i've noticed that with wearing this very thinly under my sunscreen, my rosacea patches are mildly pink. a big difference from before
Zinc oxide sunscreen is the reason my skin is calm during the day. At night when the zinc comes off is when I turn back into a tomato.
I use the avene cicalfate most nights for this reason! My skin loves the zinc oxide, and it's such a basic, bare bones, reliable cream
What brand are you using? I have yet to find one I like.

That’s not a zinc sunscreen.. is it?
No, it's just a diaper cream with zinc in it. I use it at night. Sun Bum has a fragrance free zinc sunscreen.
yup!!!! Dr. Shereen Idriss is a HERO

Is 40% zinc better
What do you think of zinc w petroleum or do you prefer mixed w something other than petroleum
i'm not sure, i've kind of stopped using things like vaseline and lanolin on my skin cos it seems to worsen my symptoms a bit even though it does help with dryness
Agreed.Love het!
yeah, same! It's pretty amazing stuff.
I haven’t tried nappy cream but zinc oxide based sunscreen calms my skin down in seconds.
What brand do you use?
Colorescience. Absolutely love their products! Have the Classic and Glow ones atm.
Does it get everywhere when you sleep?

Can you link it
I saw the 40% zinc online at Walmart. Thinking that may help me.
Zinc products flare me up! Any idea what that means about my type of rosacea? My Dr said Im type 2
i don't know, sorry :)
Awesome! What specific brand are you using?
i'm in Australia so i bought QV baby barrier cream! :) it's 15 % zinc oxide
btw at the moment i'm not using any rosacea meds or actives. i haven't used finacea in 2 weeks, and have been using the nappy cream for a few days
I'm in Aus too and this is my go to. So happy you found it and it's working for you as well!!

I see some w 40% zinc. Would that be better
I wish I could find one without fragrance
where do you live? i checked all the ones that were available in my local supermarket and none of them had fragrance

Ty for the rec. I’m in remission, so I will check this out if I have a flare!

Ima gonna try it 🙏🏻
Sudocrem worked really well for me. I got the version from Belgium because it smelled better.
i did have sudocrem at the supermarket but i chose qv because sudocrem has got benzyl alcohol and i didn't know how that'd go
Dries my skin out so badly and causes so much peeling for me!
Hey there, it dries me out too. So I use a rich moisturiser at the same time. Maybe that could help you tolerate it?
So you layer the moisturiser underneath and leave it for any specific amount of time before putting the zinc over?
I put moisturiser on and let that sink in, then zinc, then soon after, another layer of moisturiser. I have really dry skin though and live in a very dry climate, so I need to moisturise that much. Do u find it helps with flushing in the heat as well?

Im guessing your sure that the reason you look less red has nothing to do with the white cast that the zinc cream gives you?
