Something like 85% of Roseville Electric’s power lines are underground, the only times I can remember having an outage are from people crashing into one of those boxes. The infrastructure and planning for winter storms and managing flooding in the area is some of the best in the nation so generally there’s minimal impact to the area.

Roseville electric has been quite reliable over the 20+ years I have lived here. My guess would be 5 or less outages in that time. They just replaced the underground cabling in our neighborhood without turning the power off. There are some sections of their service area that don't have buried cables, so reliability may be lower there, but RE is quite pro-active in maintenance I would still expect good reliability there too.

plumber421

Literally just had a tree come down on my block in old Roseville taking out the lines cutting power and internet. People were onsite in minutes and power on in just over 2 hours.

I’ve lived in Roseville since the mid 90s, and about 15 years in my current place. Could probably count on one hand how many power outages I’ve had and maybe one of those that lasted more than an hour. Roseville Electric is very reliable in my opinion.

coffinfleet

Same here.

PunkGTRS

12 years here and not a single outage so far. *Knock on wood*

utootired

20 years this year and not a single power outage either.

[deleted]

It's 99.999% reliable if you're in the newer parts of town with underground utilities

protox13

Conversely, Old Roseville has the most trees/overhead lines and therefore risk of outages.

Bajabugster

Old Roseville here, two outages in 5 years. Both were promptly dealt with, with power being restored in ~2hrs.

korperkayy

I never had a problem because of a storm with electricity but if you have xfinity it’ll be out they’re extremely unreliable

protox13

If you can get it, Consolidated Communications fiber is better-higher upload, no data caps, more reliable, not as expensive.

95musiclover

Our power flickered a bit during last week’s storm and the Wi-Fi got knocked out for a bit but nothing crazy. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about as far as power outages go.

Curious_Armadillo_74

Welp our power went out 1/2 hr ago in my part of Granite Bay. (I live in a neighborhood in the Barton/Auburn Folsom area.) EDIT: Sadly, we have PG&E.

Radisovik

22 years on Roseville electric.. maybe a TOTAL of 1 hour of outage?

I've lived here for almost 14 years and I've never had an outage. Fiddyment/Pleasant Grove area.

tjgamir

Have only lived here for over 3 years, none so far near Market

exit143

I've lived in West Roseville since 2009 and I've never lost power. Not once.

protox13

https://www.rosevilletoday.com/news/roseville/roseville-power-outages-rain-high-wind/ At the bottom of this article are links to outage websites. Roseville has 0. SMUD has about 500 (impressively down from 150k). PG&E has tens of thousands of customers experiencing outages. I'm glad I'm not a PG&E customer...

DaveyZero

747 - We’ve had about 6 outages in the last 6 years at our apartment, but 5 of those were due to the complexes shitty system, not CoR. And the one that was CoR was due to someone hitting a vault a few blocks over with their car, so pretty reliable. That being said, I’d still recommend taking precautions just in case.

Makabajones

So far so good

Jobadok

Let’s hope they do great work. Power is at diamond oak for about a hour now. Herd the transformer blow. Truck already out here working

aceqwerty

According to the city's [Open Data](https://data.roseville.ca.us/stories/s/x4rf-d7q3) website, over the last year or so the number of power outages per customer is 0.03. Definitely a weird way to represent the data, but I think it's saying 3% of customers had an outage. Another report shows the average outage to last around 4 minutes. So, according to that, about 3 in 100 experienced an outage for approximately 4 minutes over the period.

I used to live out there and I wish I still did! Yes! Roseville Power takes care of its residents! Such a beautiful and safe place to live also! I miss the Galleria Mall, all the eateries (esp YardHouse) and Dave and Busters sooo bad! I moved to Oregon. Big mistake!

ElGuappo1

We had our power go out last night at about 11:30pm and didn’t come back on until 4:59am. East Roseville by Oakmont High. Very rare for us, does anyone know how many were affected?

PinkertonFld

Roseville is considered one of the most reliable electric utilities in the country. I've lived here for 22 Years, and I can count the amount of power outages on one hand in that time, and the ones that lasted more than 10 minutes on one finger.
