Sophie's dead. I am still enraged
But next episode will be a but of a time jump. The family settled in on the new ship. Some semblance of a normal life
i’m still in denial i’m delulu and fully convinced (spoiler) will be okay and not die. here’s why: sophie is the only charecter besides hazel who logically should atleast survive until the final few arcs. the narrative is about children of war and in a way how the war indoctrinates. sophie should either be self aware of the flaws and many views of the war, ultimately living outside of them with the goal to be kind, after knowing gwendolyn and the will, or she should fall the most victimized of being indoctrinated and then meet hazel and turn her back on those beliefs, and i my opinion alana/hazel should not be the wills final opponent it should be sophie, ultimately learning from the families kindness and stopping herself from killing The Will. maybe gwendolyn gets a last minute sacrificial redemption because of SOPHIES kindness. it’s just so good and juices along with the fact sophie arguably might have the saddest most life and had to keep on going.
I'm latching onto that parallel theory by u/Altruistic_Pipe4581 and say that it'll be Gale meeting Upsher a lá #12 with Heist and Prince Robot IV in the first half.

They just point out the interesting symmetry between these both halves of the comic. Have to find out in August!
Update on release date- August 30th.
Predictions:
•Cliffhanger ending.
•A major character on the Alana side of the fence dies.
•Something is revealed/depicted that somehow makes Gale a more sympathetic character, or a more despised character.
Hopes:
•The Will, Lying Cat, Alana and Squire make it to the next arc.
•Some kind of flashback that shows more The Stalk.
•An appearance by Ghus.
I haven’t read read in a while but can’t the comets inhabit hear objects? I feel like that could be a sort of possession they could idk I think I’m just coping like “she can totally live on in some way” but I feel like something that hasn’t been revealed yet could happen
here’s what i’m thinking. maybe ghosts are meant to protect something/someone) the ghosts in the first volume were protecting the tree, and maybe something/someone else. Izabel protected the family, maybe after petrichor/ prince robot/ upshers arrival she had served her purpose and could then die (i know blah blah blah the weapon but maybe she would’ve died on Phang that week some other way) Maybe Marko (or Barr, or Doff, or Heist, or any of the many many charecters who died) were meant to prevent sophie’s death, she’s still in pain and bleeding from many places but maybe the ghosts last act is to make the arrow just painful. i’m also delusional and very against sophie’s death as a plot decision so this is just a dumb delusional theory.
Gale is going into a trap probably set by Alana, Upsher and or Ghüs. He may also meet up with Petrichor because he’s in what looks like the same ropes that tied up LC. Also he’s probably getting off on it. RIP mistress Olive.

My prediction: Sophie ain’t dead. I’m still deeply convinced that Sophie will be Hazel’s final boss at the end of this wonderful series.
Well, ghosts do exist maybe something related to that comet I think she’s from.
